Your top 5 RPG NPCs!

You know, some characters can be really awesome, even if you never get to play as them, some because they have some epic/awesome quote, other because they made you laugh a lot. So tell me, who are/were your favourite NC of all time? Here's my list:

1-Wigglytuff (Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky)

This guy is just epic. He acts completely childish, yet he's extremely strong (taking down a whole team in one blow?!) I just love Wigglytuff's attitude.


2-Kefka (Final Fantasy VI)

I don't think I have to list the reasons why he's awesome, as I'm pretty sure you know what he's done


3-Count Waltz (Eternal Sonata)

This guy barely shows it until you get to fight him. But he's acually almost as insane as Kefka was, exept that in Eternal Sonata, they added the wonderful technology that we know as voice acting, allowing the player to further ''fell'' Waltz Insanity... if only they remade FFVI with such voice acting...

4-Eugene Chaud (Megaman Battle Network Series)

I don't particulary like his Navi (Though Protoman's Chaos soul IS useful in Battle Network 5) But I always like Chaud's Atitude. In the earlier game, he's just a jerk looking down on you, then later, he almost admit you're better than him. I dunno, unlike some other rivals in other series (Blue in the older pokemon games) he actually respects you at a cetain point in the series.

5-Clay (Pokemon Black/White)

WHen I first saw the 8 gym leaders of Pokemon Black and White, Clay automaticly struck me as awesome. His town theme is cool, he use one of the best offencive type (ground), he looks cool, and in the english version of the games, he has an awesome accent. Clay will IMO be very hard to beat as the best Gym Leader of the series!

1- Barbarenth (Balbanes) Beoulve - Final Fantasy Tactics(WotL) - This Bamf bascially ended the 50 years war, not to mention he was a Hevenly Knight, he was also friends with Count Orlandeau and of cource was the father of Ramza, Dycedarg and Zalbag.

2- The Sleeping Guy in the cave - Final Fantasy VII - I'm not sure what else to call this dude. He doesn't have a name, he's just that guy who gives you mythril on FFVII. I don't know why I like this guy, but he's cool.

3- Judge Cid - Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - I've herd rumors that you could play as him but I never was able to and I beat the game so wuteva. Still, he was the coolest judge on FFTA, he was the Judge MASTER! What a beast...

4- Pyschotic Marines - Halo series - In each Halo game, there is always at least one marine who just couldn't take it anymore. In war, not all soliders are perfect and ready to fight and okay with killing, somtimes, people just aren't ready. I think it's good that that's a detail that Bungie paid attention too.

5- Major (Revolver) Ocelot - Metal Gear Solid Series - This is the best, kinda bad guy ever. He was epic, he described chambering "long silver bullets into well greased chambers" and made an impression on my gaming life permanently!

It's a pretty good list... but since when are Halo and MGS RPGs?

-Regent Cid, FF9: First he's an oglop, then he's a frog (or did I get the order mixed up?) then he's a real guy. And he sure is a dashing real guy. Plus, he was an amazing airship mechanic and commander.
-M'aiq the Liar, Elder Scrolls games: Basically a character there just to poke fun at people's possible complaints about Oblivion, and also say a few ridiculous things. I think I actually liked him better in Morrowind though. But there are actually a lot of awesome NPC's in Oblivion, and I think in Morrowind too. They have awesome insults, like "You n'wah!" "You swit!" "Die, fetcher!" "Stoopid!" and this. (The site says it was an audio glitch, but I'm pretty sure the actress just stuttered the line, haha.)
-Liberty Prime, Fallout 3: He's considered an NPC, right? You can't control him anyway. He is the most epic robot I have ever seen. Period. Y'gotta see him blow shit up and make proclamations about democracy and communism for yourself to understand.
-Craig Boone, Fallout: New Vegas (Warning; video pretty violent): He is a companion character, but you never get to directly control him, so... Boone is a ****in' bad ass man. Pretty much the best companion character you can get in FA:NV, in my opinion. When I first went up to talk to him, I was like "Eh, some hard ass. How typical." But then when he started following me around and killing everything for me, I forgave him for that. And then I found out his full back story, and found out that he is a rather sympathetic character.
-Moogles from Final Fantasy series: I think my favorite NPC moogles are the ones in FF9 and 12, though. They're just so full of personality and charm. Cute little bastards.

I was having trouble thinking of any other NPC's. I like NPC's, but I don't really usually give them a second thought. I feel like there are good ones that I am forgetting-particularly in games like FF6, Earthbound, and Super Mario RPG-but I can't place them. I didn't list any villains or enemies, because they are generally not considered NPC's, but enemies. Anyhoo...

Well I felt that the list would've been boring if it were all rpgs. They'd all be FF games for me then. xD

My top 5 would be:

1) Sephiroth/Genesis/Angeal - the 'Three Musketeers' of Crisis Core, i personally would have loved to have been able to play as any of them. Unfortunately, that is the way of the NPC - to be a non-playable character.

2) Marquis Halim Ondore IV - i always enjoyed Ondore's scenes, even when he was just narrating the story. He had a kickass accent, looked and dressed like nobility and had a brilliant vocabulary (not to mention he's pretty cunning).

3) Al-Cid Margrace - I can't remember ever wanting a character in my team as badly as i wanted Al-Cid. He talks and acts like a boss, is a charmer with the ladies and yet still maintains a flair of intelligence (much like Balthier). Unfortunately, he was required for other duties (namely plot development in Rozarria) so we never did get to play as him.

4) Moogles/Nu Mou/Bangaa - considering XII was set in Ivalice, i was disappointed that the final party of the game only consisted of humes and a single viera. Where was the racial diversity that was present in Tactics?

5) The Occuria - the Occuria blew me away in terms of their appearance and the fact that they were gods. Supposedly being the creators and maintainers of Ivalice, the Occuria had supreme power and they knew it. If Vayne was allowed to have his own Occuria, how come we weren't

Butch(Fallout 3): He had the whole Greasers thing down god I love it.

#5 Lance (Pokémon) - Bad a*s with his Dragon pokémon.

#4 Duncan (Dragon Age: Origins) - Went around killing darkspawn and recruiting for the Grey Wardens. Shame about the treachery and eventual death...

#3 Yes Man (Fallout: New Vegas) - DAMN. Just almost everything this guy said made me laugh.

#2 Jote (Viera from Final Fantasy XII) - I'm not the only one who thinks the Viera are cute! Jote was just my favourite, no idea why.

#1 Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII) - Yup, I'm a fanboy. His style kicked a*se and wanting to become a God and take over the world? Hell yeah I'd do that if I could XD
