Xbox 360 New Dashboard!

What do we think of this? Personally i like it and i have really noticed the change in sound quality on it whereas two other people i spoke to hadn't. Also of course it has the new Kinect features honestly i cant see myself buying the Kinect it just doesn't seem very appealing at all.

I do like the new look though. They had to do this in order to support Kinect functionality, since you need to be able to scroll through your menus using just your body language. Though I haven't done jack squat with Kinect yet (I'm not sure when my free unit will arrive... roughly two weeks is what I've heard), I am interested in giving it a try. I'll always default back to a controller for menu navigation, though. Seriously.

I noticed as well all the sounds have all gone slower and higher i have no idea how that makes any different Kinect or no Kinect although is like the same noise only altered i dont know it just seems weird haha.

The sounds it makes when scrolling up and down, are the same sounds the old xbox 360 dashboard used to make when you had to scroll left and right. I am guessing most player's, myself included, liked the sound it used to create, and microsoft brought it back. (Just my theory)

The only big change I seemed to notice (Right away) was the brightness of the new dashboard, and the menu 360 button.

I think its awesome but feel the other dashboard had a short life like what two years? I wonder if someone has like comparison or pictures of all the different dashboards the Xbox has had over the years.

the brightness hurts my eyes lol it's like really bright no lie, idk how people can stand it. Also, it just feels like stuff is out of place, like when I want to look for downloads it's harder to find stuff. I do like how Netflix is now set up.

Also, yeah I know Live has had the same price for 7 years but I'm a little miffed its going up in price. Luckily I got the two year extension for like $85 but now its going to be $60 a year from now on, which isn't bad when you think about it but it still sucks, lol. I'm done complaining now haha

I havn't made my mind up about it yet, I think once I'm used to the new look I will end up liking it. I read about the Kinect, it's supposed to be in the Top 12 for Xmas gifts this year (UK). My other half heard it's going to be really popular and that alot of people may have trouble getting hold it of it for Xmas. He actually wants one, but I think it will be a passing phase like all technology with him, he's a nightmare honestly tut!

I have never liked the 360 dashboard, but they seem to make it progressively worse. The original wasn't exactly well laid out, but it was at least orderly. Everything had its own designated area and one wasn't bombarded by advertisements for things they weren't at all looking for. Then the New Xbox Experience came along and the dashboard began to resemble a department store, with one section leading arbitrarily into another in the hopes of increasing impulse shopping as one drifted aimlessly through unnecessary promotions and advertisements to find the simplest feature. This new dashboards seems to be about the same as that, but with an uglier coat of paint. It has some other features, I understand, but from a purely aesthetic point of view, it's the shits.

i like the 'new' sounds, but when playing a game, pressed the xbox guide button, that menu isn't lokking that good, i liked the older one (more rounded)

also i use the messegner feature but have no Xbox friends...
when i press the guide button, i always get 0 friends, and need to get trough several menus before i can see how many msn friends of mine are online...
