Pretty much EVERYTHING from Nightmare Creatures (ps1)
This game was scary as ****. Not only because the monsters looked so freaky and so was the hideous/disfigured man you were chasing, but monsters were very tough which gave you a reason to fear them.
I played siren blood curse, I thought that was pretty freaky, especially how you hijack vision of the enemy. That added a whole new sense of anticipation to the game.
Two words.
Alien Zombies
How much more of a shit storm can you get.
Yeah RE has zombies and SH has god knows what, but this is ALIEN zombies seriously aliens.
When you have read the book it really makes you appreciate the movies and games much more, and if you have kudos to you.
Holy shit talk about ghosts of the past I remember this game mang, at least with this game most of the mutants gave you time to react, and you had to hack em apart piece by piece and yet the buggers would still attack you.
I have never really played scary games, I played SH and that's about it I was never into survival horror games, I like to be trigger happy hence the reason I didn't like them.
I loved the movies of RE and SH and since these other games have been mentioned I like the looks of Amnesia and Siren Blood curse, but if I went back and played the other ones I think it would do my head in with the old graphics.
RAGE on xbox has some good bits not scary but it has mutants and they come at you by the dozens and they come at you while piss bolting out of reach of a hideously big mutant that looks like it came off the set of Pirates of the Caribbean.
Also is Project Zero= Fatal Frames

After you get around to playing all those games that I mentioned..Dead Space was like playing Halo. Once the Flood appearedXD
At the time the box art I bought had on it Project Zero 3:The Tormented and I played Crimson Butterfly with the title Fatal Frame II next to it. One's PAL and the other NTSC..didnt let it bother me tho![]()
Call of Cthulhu Dark Corners of the Earth and Silent Hill 2 are by far the scariest games I ever played, Pyramid Head though is definitely the scariest opponent I ever encountered in a video game.
One foe that also creeps shit outta me is Cherub from Doom 3, it's design and voice is hauntingly sick.
Sig and Avy made by Unknown Entity
Back when I was a little kid, the tyrant from Resident Evil: Director's Cut and William Birkin's mutated form in Resident Evil 2 were up there for me. Granted I was around 7 years old watching my older brother play so it creeped me out quite a bit lol.

Haha jk if you look at the concept of the games put together as a whole then yes Amnesia looks more scary because you have nothing to defend yourself, the foreboding music and aesthetics of the environment and anxiety and suspense, whereas Dead space you just have the music and suspense with Dead space oh and the ALIEN Zombies.
But I would not like to face a necromorph, an Alien zombie that operates like an ant scares the shit out of me, actually ants scare me by themselves.
