Scariest/most diturbing boss you've ever faced in a game?

I thought I'd post it here, because I just faught a boss that really takes the cake.

I just got to the end of Earthbound, and Giygas, the final boss, is easily the most disturbing boss I've ever faced. If you want to see what I mean, check out this vid

YouTube - Earthbound - Battle against Giygas Part One
(Skip it to 4:09, this is when it really starts to become messed up)

I think it's the song more than anything. It's just a really emotionally-scarring song. The video doesn't do it enough justice though, you have to have faced it to believe how scary it is. And the foetus shape in the third form?! Arhhh!

    ...
    So yeah, this is mine.

But I'd like to see what you guys think.

I would say some of the bosses I've fought in Resident Evil's take the cake. I think I've said this before but I didn't like that screaming ho in RE0. I think she's the one in a hanging coffin cage thing, and you have to let her out to get something. Then, later she chases you around this circular room.

For some reason she scared the bajeebies out of me more than any other freak in RE.

If it counts, the Hunter from Dead Space. Not only does it take you half the game to kill it, but when it's in the level you are, it pretty much makes scavenging impossible. The Actual boss fight it's self wasn't as difficult as it should have been...I mean seriously I was more worried about the Randomly appearing Necromorphs then the Boss lol. But ya, just the fear and nervousness the Hunter set into the game was enough to make me stop playing for a while and cry a little...

Seymour is the most disturbing boss for me this far.. He's difficult to be defeated. And once he has successfully beated, he will emerge again with all his crazy skills and nonsenses. And his annoying grin. I just hate it

Not really a boss, but the most disturbing enemy to me were those babies with butterfly wings in Doom 3, their cry really creeped the hell out of me and they were vicious, strong and fast for their small size.

Anyways, the most disturbing boss that I can think of now is that Pyramid guy in Silent Hill 2, I was always scared to face him even though he wasn't though to beat, but then again I was just a kid.

Re: Scariest/most diturbing boss you've ever faced in a game?

I agree about Giygas.... That was pretty disturbing to see, especially when I first played it when I was really young. I actually first seen it when my oldest brother was facing off against him, and I remember how freaky it looked to me. I think it was some time later when perusing through some information online about the game that I came across mention that if you looked at the negative space when you fight Giygas (in his "true form"), that you see a picture of an unborn fetus. And you know what? I have the picture right here:
    SPOILER!!:

I haven't really played a whole lot of games where I thought that the final boss was freaky looking. I suppose Ultimecia could count though. When she's in her final form or whatever and her face is gone and her body is all distorted and weird-looking, it's kind of freaky to look at.

I still think the Squall with the hole in his face was the most disturbing thing I've seen in a game rofl! I don't think anything beats this for me atm.

Oh look, I was nice enough to put it in a spoiler:

Re: Scariest/most diturbing boss you've ever faced in a game?

Giygas was one wierd boss to think about. I guess the creator of Earthbound accidently walked into the wrong movie theater as a child, and saw a rape scene, which is where the inspiration of the dialogue and other stuff came from.

Andross from Star Fox 64 scared me lol. I think I screamed when I first saw him. The big baby fetus from Mass Effect 2 was another time I was like "shit!" At least the first 5 or so times before I had to reload from dying, lol. Also, some of the bosses in any of the Shin Megami Tensei games were very creppy and cultish, like I could name over a dozen or so from SMT2 that would be considered disturbing. (Satan, YHWH, Lucifer, Astaroth, Mara aka the penis on the chariot, etc.)

Re: Scariest/most diturbing boss you've ever faced in a game?

Well, I played a lot of games in my youth, so naturally, I was easy to freak out.

When I first played Kingdom Hearts all those years ago, Darkside (the first boss) scared the hell out of me. And think about it, this thing comes from your shadow, and grows to gargantuan size with no chest and yellow eyes of evil staring at you the whole time. This is made even worse by the only thing illuminating the battlefield is the mural pillar you're standing on. Of course, now all grown up, he's not only easy, but not nearly as frightening as I once thought.

I never played Earthbound, but I've seen a lot of vids on YouTube, and everyone here is right when they say he's one of the most disturbing bosses EVER. Surprising how they can make an SNES capable of that... Although, I'll never get the full experience unless I see if for myself. Still... damn.

But... you wanna know what's REALLY frightening? The most disturbing, frightening, and all-out creepy boss/character EVER?

    Birdo.

Now, I know what you might be thinking. "Birdo? What the hell is so frightening about some egg-shooting twat?" But, there's the ruse. Birdo is not female at all... at least according to the manual IT isn't.

According to the manual, Birdo is, in fact, a male thing that dresses like a female because he/she/IT wants to. So, technically, Birdo is the Mario series' first transexual. No one knows what the hell it is, but it still IS. Not as creepy as Giygas, but certainly up there in my book... o_O

I'm going through a bit of a The World Ends With You phase right now.

Definitely Wesker from RE5. I kept running outta ammo, and would die quite often. Plus the way he looked was completely intimidating...

Ramon Salazar from Resident Evil 4. Because there's nothing creepier than Spanish midget baby Napoleon who is also completely insane and dripping with Las Plagas.

Also, not really a boss, but the regenerators in RE4, especially their first appearance, creeped me out. That entire sequence is so good.

Not only are the bosses "sick" but the some of the enemies get pretty insane. I remember The Lion Head's in Three, the ones with the Drills in their mouth...something like that. The only way to hit them was to jump just high enough to get a good combo right in their back right after landing, which made it a short fight. I agree with you're comment.

Actually I just thought of another. Although more from when I was a kid.
When I first started playing FFVIII, Gerogero scared the hell out of me. First it was just some insane imposter of the president, then all of a sudden he turns into some demented zombie-monster thing.

Damn he scared me as a kid.

Also, quite obviously, William Birkin from Resi Evil 2.

All of his forms were scary, but none more so, than that one.

The Torso Mutant from the original Tomb Raider game. I was quite young when I discovered that, and it still gives me the creeps.

Also, Psycho Mantis from Metal Gear Solid. He took over Meryl, read my thoughts and made my video game controller "move" (lulz).

Unknown Entity mentioned the one I was going to mention. Psycho Mantis' "input change" on my TV scared me to death the first time I played it. Or when he said he erased my memory card, too. Apparently if you break the 4th wall enough, it can wreak havoc on a player's mind.

Psycho Mantis was like, the best boss ever. He starts talking about the games on your memory card sometimes lol. I remember the first time I was fighting him, had a gun pointed right at him, gettin ready to wreak some havoc... "So, I see you like Zelda games.", then I'm just like, "Wait, what the hell did he just say? HOW DOES HE KNOW?!"

Re: Scariest/most diturbing boss you've ever faced in a game?

Killer Croc from Batman: Arkham Asylum. The beast scared the life out of me. Everywhere I went I thought he was going to come and tear the flesh from my bones. Then I didn't even get to fight him properly. That means he'll be in Arkham Asylum 2. So, due to that, he's still a worrying part of the game and therefor is deserving of mention.

    I salute you, Killer Croc.

For some reason she scared the bajeebies out of me more than any other freak in RE
I agree. Loosening those chains took me a good half an hour. I had to build up my courage to do it.

Mind you, most of the zombies in RE1: Remake are scary. They can run... RUN. That wasn't what we agreed to Capcom... That wasn't what we were expecting!

You know you're high up in the world when you own an Organisation XIII cloak.

I haven't played many scary video games. But out of the ones I've played, I'd have to say Salazar's "right-hand" from Resident Evil 4. He's about as freaky as bosses (or sub-bosses)get. You fight him in a dark tunnel with flickering lights, he pops out of random places to try to kill you, he looks freaky, he's nearly invincible, and you find yourself running away from him during most of the fight.

I remember playing that game when I was, like, seven years old. I couldn't sleep the night after I saw those damn eyes! That picture still freaks the hell out of me whenever I play that game, especially that music...GRAAAH!

Can't remember but the bosses in Resident Evil 4 were creepy looking, but not really scary. Bosses that scared me would have to be bosses from Silent Hill 2 and 3. Pyramid Head is the scariest character ever created to some people. Final boss in 2 was creepy. I'd say the most scariest for me would have to be the final boss in Silent Hill 3. Although you don't fight much of him, Walter Sullivan from Silent Hill 4 scared the crap out of me since you couldn't kill him and had to run from him every time.
