maybe they can do a bundle pack with duke nukem forever 2 when it gets released
I've seen a couple sources, but Zack Reese of RPGsite.net pulled this one to attention earlier:
Tomsguide.com
The short version?
Sony supposedly has a long-term bluray exclusivity right on drives used in a console format, separate from their rights to the technology itself. There is furious digging to see if this only affects Europe or if this is worldwide, but there's a lot of buzz regarding the XBOX software lineup being six months behind. Whether the software delays are related to the format of the new console's discs is unknown.
It seems a spring launch for the "infinity" console may be more and more appropriate as information slips out.

hahas, updated July 28th (oldie but goodie!):
I wouldn't blame sony they made blu ray they have every right to have an exclusive license to it, because it's there product, why would they want to share their biggest success in years to microsoft especially when sales for the xbox360 outranked ps3 by miles, they need something behind their winning hand.
It wouldn't surprise me if they didn't give microsoft a license well at least until they were on the verge of a new format then they would give microsoft or the company in charge of the xbox some rights to blu ray as they release a playstation console on a new and better format wouldn't that be funny. I heard that there was a red ray showing it's head around somewhere whether that's another companies attempt at bluray or not would be interesting to know.

'Shipments' being the operative word, not sales, taking into the account that both MS and Sony both produced excess to requirement and still are, which begs to differ why bother when the release of the next gens will be in the near future, and this is only coming from records two months ago, wake up Sony how long did it take you to catch up 4/5 years.
BUt I understand what you are TRYING to say, I did look it up further and found that on an average based on a yearly recording ps3 did sell better than xbox p/a. So I do rescind the statement about xbox selling ahead by miles because I also didn't take into the account that xbox cheated and released a year earlier but that did provide a disadvantage on sonys side of the court because they recorded a loss not a profit on release that was what I was meant to say but I misread the article.
