I enjoy making a story behind each character, and I spend far too much time RPGing than actually playing the damn games.

My favourite character so far has been Kahlan, the Mother Confessor, who travels to Skyrim from Cyrodiil to stop the Civil War between the Stormcloaks and the Imperials. I haven't experimented with her taking the side of the Stormcloaks yet, believe it or not, as I prefer the characters on the Imperial side. But she's a reluctant Imperial sympathiser - she only honours the White Gold Concordat because it's stopped war before, but continues to fight for the right to worship who you wish (in this case, Talos).

She's a dual wielder, with either swords or destruction magic. She can use a bow too, but I'm more of a run in there and slice 'em up or fry 'em person. As the books go, she learned from Richard how to "cut".

My other favourite character is a male Nord, Gaius, son of Elisif and Torygg, and seeks revenge for his father's murder. He left Skyrim for Cyrodiil as a teenager, after an argument, and had spent a few years in the Arena, becoming a honed warrior and champion. He favours swords, isn't a fan of magic, eats a lot of venison and is an alcoholic. On the way back to Skyrim, he happens to pass Ulfric Stormcloak, and before he can kill him on this chance meeting, the Imperials charge in and capture the lot of them. Despite telling them who he was, the Imperial soldiers don't believe Gaius, and took him to be beheaded under suspicion of aiding Ulfric escape Skyrim. Hadvar recognises him, but it takes a while for it to register that he almost allowed the Imperials to behead the heir Jarl of Solitude!

That's the beginning of that story. I won't bore you all with the rest, but my favourite part of the story is when he meets Serana, while out defeating the vampires that have been plaguing his home town. He falls in love with her, hopelessly, but discovers that she'd fallen for him too, but is reluctant as she's a vampire. When she turns him into a vampire to find her mother, she's hopeful that maybe that means she can get over her reluctance, but is heartbroken when Gaius reveals he'd like to find a cure after they're done in the Soul Cairn.

I haven't decided if I want to end it with her finding a cure, or remaining as a vampire. They're "together" though, even if they can't marry. Gaius will never marry another. It's pretty cool as they are though - the Warrior who fell for the tough, vampire lady.

I've put way too much thought into this story. Wow, I'm laaame.
