Nomura interested in getting Star Wars into Kingdom Hearts 3

Tetsuya Nomura, the man behind Kingdom Hearts, among other games, spoke about what he would like to put into the newest Kingdom Hearts. Since Kingdom Hearts is a crossover series between Final Fantasy characters and any Disney property (it stopped being the animated properties when Tron and Pirates of the Caribbean were put into KH2). As Star Wars in now owned by Disney, it is a potential chance that Nomura could get Star Wars into the game. He has said he wants to do it, but that Disney has a lot of rules and restrictions, according to him. So he is not certain it can happen.

It is should not come as a surprise, as it has long been known that many at Square are Star Wars fans, as characters like Wedge and Biggs have made it into several of their games.

I can see what he is trying to do with this idea, but I don't think it is a very good idea. KH may have that star wars kind of feel with the way the story is and chosen heroes that wield a keyblade but I just don't think adding the star wars universe will execute well in a kingdom hearts game.

I would say that this is iffy territory for the franchise, because there are many ways that this can go wrong. If star wars is going to come into play in KH3, you have to have the right moments and elements for them. They would have to FEEL like they are part of the KH world.

Yeah, I think it would be best not to try to put Star Wars into the game. Plus, it is not really Disney. Disney might own Star Wars, but everyone knows that Disney had nothing to do with it. Tron and Pirates seemed like odd stretches for me, but they were still original Disney properties, even if the live-action in a bunch of cartoon characters seemed strange.

Yeah, but those titles actually worked out as worlds because Square & Disney were able to blend them in with the game's flow and feel (Pirates of the Caribbean especially).

I personally want to see a world like Emperor's New Groove in the game. The movie has enough elements to become it's own world and plenty of places to see too.

It's pretty easy to just make what world you need. The properties that they own all have their own distinctive and separate universes/worlds. So it is not too difficult to make. Most of the traveling between worlds is just sown together loosely. The parts of the KH series I've cared about and been interested in the most is the original characters the story with them. I tend to ignore most of what happens in the Disney worlds as filler until I get to the next plot point.

I was a bit apprehensive when they put TWETY characters into KH3D becuase it seemed like SE were just gonna put whatever franchise they like into the KH games and now it's happened again. I wish they would just stick to having characters original to Kingdom Hearts with a Final Fantasy supporting cast. Having all these other franchises come in just ruins that imo.

I knew it! Ansem the Wise is really a clone of Count Dooku, the true antagonist of Kingdom Hearts.

I honestly don't care what they put in the game. I only care about the original characters and story. The Final Fantasy characters are just fanservice and the Disney worlds are just filler.

I just like the gameplay, personally. Really fun, but absolutely vapid in terms of an intelligible plot.

like most enix games of late, plot takes a backseat in order to satisfy fan service.

The plot is overall pretty ridiculous with how much of a mess it is, but it's not that hard to follow as long as you're paying attention. Nonetheless, I still enjoy it.

I love that people are saying Star Wars would ruin a game made my SQUARE ENIX and DISNEY. Need I say more? IT'S GOING TO BE SHIT REGARDLESS! Anyway, if they incorporate it with the original movies, it would be great. THEY have a similar feel to some Disney stuff, bit more family friendly...not to mention Kingdom Hearts is what Harry Potter is to LOTR, a more childish version that takes place in a more "relatable" world.

Though...prequel era Star Wars could result in an epic battle between Mickey and Yoda

If the plot is a mess, you can thank Chain of Memories for that, that's where the plot becomes messy because of how dumb and contradictory it was to the series.
