JRPG News Post Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory English Screenshots

Today NISA fully launched their website for Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory. The launch of the site came with a video showing off parts of the game along with localized screenshots. They also gave a release date of March 12th for NA regions and March 15th for EU regions.

The story as well as the worlds are shown off on the website. The story for Victory has Neptune going to a different world with another Planetune, except that it looks like the game industry of the 80s. The existed console parodies still exist in a form. Lowee is still Nintendo, though they were made very Japanese. Lastation is an up and coming place surpassing Planetune, which seems to be more lazy. Leanbox doesn't seem to be in the console race, but they comment that everything is super sized.

Some of the characters from the past games will be in baby form this time around and there are new characters and CPUs introduced. The new group of villains are called the Seven Sages out to destroy the CPUs.

How are these games? I really want to play them, but I can never find one at a good price. I'll probably end up renting the first two.

I've heard some comments about the first being terrible and the second improving a lot. But I still like playing games in order, so I don't think I'll want to skip the first.

Most things I've seen about this game make me want to play it. And the moe often seems off the chart.

The moe is definitely off the charts, you're correct about that. Both games are good for different reasons. The combat was a little fuzzy and weird in the first time, but that was largely my only compliant about the first game. I though the first game was better than the second in many ways, because the characters were more enjoyable and the story was more funny. However, the second fixed the combat issues I had with the first. But it did not seem as funny, however, my opinion of the game changed when I did one of the endings. I was sort of feeling like a lot it wasn't as good or worth it, but after getting that ending it was all worth it. It's not the canon ending, but I really like it a lot.

They stuff a lot of video game jokes and parodies in it to. So if you're well versed in video games in general, then I think you will enjoy it on that level alone. Plus, Neptune (Nep-Nep) is just great. She is what made the first game so amazing, which is part of the reason why the second wasn't as good. She didn't have as many moments to really shine.

Also, the first Neptunia was the only game in a long time that I was able to 100% mostly on my own without a guide. There was a couple a fiddly bits, but largely I Platinum'd it on my own because it was friendly to navigate and not a grind fest that was boring. I figured it all out and managed without there feeling like there was a dead space that I just want to go on. The second had more dead space and issues on that for me, it still wasn't bad though for Platinum'ing, it was pretty friendly.

Sounds good. Now to figure out how I'm going to get a hold of them. I've been eyeing GameFly. Time to platinum looks acceptable, so maybe I'll get them when I finally run out of my current games.

They are totally reasonable platinums, considering that I'm playing Mugen Souls right now, which is a totally unreasonable platinum on par with WKC time. >.> They are very comfortable and easy to achieve, plus they are fun games. I don't know how hard they are to find these days.

Been looking forward to this for a while, I've been following this for quite a while and watched a few videos and it looked even better than Mk2 so I'll most like get it when it comes out (though it looks like the SE version is USA) only. Plus it has 3 of my favourite Seiyuu, what more can I ask for?

As for the first it's really bare bones as mention but its still an enjoyable story with well done characters, easy platinum. The second improves a lot and though I haven't got the platinum just yet I'd say its relatively straight forward though one of the endings seemed rather out of place. The share system can be a bit confusing at first and the battle system can be slow at times but other than that it's great and very moe.
