Tales of Xillia English Screenshots

For Tales fans, Namco Bandai dropped some screenshots of the english version of the game. Meaning, most of it is going to have subtitles show things in english. But for those have not seen the game at all, this is a good opportunity. Remember this is the 15th anniversary game and there are two main characters for this game. Both past character designers worked on characters for this game.

Namco also released a summary of the early part of the story for the game if you want to know more about it.

Players will be able to choose either Milla or Jude at the outset of their adventure through the world of Rieze Maxia, where humans and spirits live together in harmony. The kingdom of Rashugal has been experimenting with a powerful device that has been draining the mana from the world. Realizing the harm it is inflicting on the world, Milla and Jude set off on a journey to destroy the device and restore the mana back to the land. Over the course of the game their lives will intersect with a vast ensemble of characters that will teach them the strength of unwavering conviction.

Tales of Xillia is set for a 2013 release, a date is still unknown.

Due to the limit, I'm adding some screenshots in a second post. You get to see localized screens of the characters talking. There is a not a lot to gain for them, but you can get a little sense of their interactions. Most of it lets you get a feel for the visuals of the game and different parts of the environment and cities.

It looks absolutely beautiful, just as expected. I have a copy already on pre-order after really getting into Tales of Graces f and Eternal Sonata. I'm looking forward to it, and I have enough time to get Graces f out of the way first. ^^

From what I've seen, these games aren't every popular over here, which is a huge shame. I'm pretty sure it'll still get stocked at work, even in a small supply, but I fear my pre-order might not get fulfilled.

Yeah, the Tales is definitely not as popular here as it is in Japan. Japan has quite a lot of Tales games, many "escort" games which are spin-offs that we largely don't see. The series is still probably one of the better selling ones out of Japan for JRPGs. I don't know with any certainty, but it is probably number 3 behind FF and DQ series for sales numbers. Fortunately, Tales of Graces did well here I think and Xillia has done very well in Japan. So there might be more of a push for the game here.

Are there any other editions announced other than a standard that you know of? GAME only have a standard. I'm a sucker for the extra content in limited editions and such.

Tales of Graces f had a nice little box, art book, DLC and soundtrack.

I haven't heard anything about a special or limited edition for the game. I'm guessing that they'll announce it later probably end to beginning of the new year.
