I remember stating this before but I believe the PS1 is the best fking console ever. When has a PlayStation system not been awesome? PS1, PS2, and PS3 were all the best systems of their generations. Even up till now there's still a lot of potential in that black box. We should still be seeing improvements in PS3 games as the PS3 is still ahead of its time. I understand that the complexity of PS3's inner workings have been a struggle for many devs, but c'mon now, the PS3's been out like 6 years or so, that's plenty of time for anyone to get accustomed to the architecture, the real problem is many devs are just too lazy (or strapped for cash, time resources) to put the effort in when they gain large profits regardless *cough* Bethesda
PS1 is and will forever be my favourite n The BEST console. 2nd place for me is SNES then N64. Good ol Nintendo before the shitty Wii. Sry I just fkn hAte the motion control. Oh n dont get me started on the WiiU..

n64 was the best party console. it had a great selection of games for a small group of people to play in the same room together, and it brings back a lot of memories for me playing those games with family and friends
dreamcast had that potential too, but like aeris, it died an untimely death.

Honestly, PS3 for me. Get the best of both worlds with PSOne backwards compatibility and you got to play [then] next gen games like Heavy Rain and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. It's a shame about the PS2 backwards compatibility, but as long as you still have the PS2 working and hooked up nearby, it's not a big deal.
I was fairly late to game consoles. My first proper console was a PSOne. Still, I got to play some awesome games that will never, ever be the same now. Like Crash Bandicoot, Final Fantasy VII and Tomb Raider (first through to Chronicles). PSOne would be my favourite if PS3 wasn't backwards compatible to it.
PC is by far my favorite platform to play on, my favorite console though is PSOne. I feel no other console can match the overall quality of games PSOne has. On the other hand my favorite handheld console is Gameboy, though that's mostly due to nostalgia and Pokémon games.

I really enjoyed Super Nintendo and N64 in my teen years. I played alot of Mario, FF's and later on loved playing Goldeneye and Perfect Dark with friends, as well as Conker's Bad Fur Day. N64 is the winner among them. Also, everything that has FF games for it is a favorite console for me. I've yet to buy PS1,2 and possibly 3 to play 7, 9 and up.
It depends on different things. Since this is about consoles, I can't pick one of the game boys, which would probably be my most nostalgic choice. Anyway, it's about dead even between the SNES, n64, PS 1 and 2. In order... SNES, n64, ps 2, ps 1.
As for the ps1 backwards compatibility thing with the ps3, **** sony, seriously. You can emulate a PS 1 with a cd player and an avocado. PS 2 emulation takes a ****ing super computer. The PS 2 is one of the highest selling ****ing consoles of all time, to avoid backwards compatibility is just a slap in the face. That and they wanna rerelease them on the Vita and shit...
I like things old school. I have the fondest memories with the N64. The PS1 a close second because I still use it regularly. I am actually hashing out another run for FFVIII again. It's been long overdue for another run. Then I would choose the PS2 and 3. The SNES would have to fit in there as well since it holds some fond memories as well.

Check it out. The Fall of Spira is finished!
I have a lot of nostalgia for the Super Nintendo, N64, and PS1.
But my favorite Console probably goes to the Xbox 360.
It was my first console of the latest generation, I've spent more time on this console than any other console. There are also tons of little knacks that help me like it so much (Like backwards compatibility, the controller scheme, online). Its also currently the console I have the most games for (PC is catching up very quickly).
Games probably take a bit of the backseat. With so many of the games being cross-platform I couldn't really justify those games as being one of the reasons why I love the 360.
For a nostalgia pick, I'd probably say the N64. Perfect Dark, OoT, Majora's Mask, 007, Mario Kart, Mario Party, Mario 64, the list goes on, and on, and on, and on.
Sega! Woooo I love the crap outta it!
