F'in right my friend. I canNOT WAIT for this to come out. I'm torn tho... the next DLC for Borderlands is out at the end of September and I think this comes out at the end of October?
Not enough time between the two!
I am f*cking pumped for this game. Can't wait for it to be released. Anyone else ecstatic about it.

Fable 2 sucked compared to Fable 1, this one wont though. This one will start a new type of RPG imo.

Fable, Fable, Fable. Where to start with this franchise? A bad franchise? Not at all. A good franchise even? Sure. A franchise that lives up to its promises? Hell no. I would take anything Molyneux says about Fable 3 with several hefty hand fulls of salt, as the man is a notorious embellisher. Anything the man says that makes the game seem redefining should not be taken seriously; he said the same thing about Fable 2, he said the same thing about Fable, he said the same thing about Black and White and he says the same thing about every game he makes. In the end, they usually end up being good games, but they're never as groundbreaking as he claims.
And on a side note, is it just me, or did it look like a lot of the RPG elements were being removed from the game in favour of something closer to an action adventure game?
Until now!
I'd say Molyneux is just thinking he makes great stuff, but in the end he just doesn't realize he should play the opposite game (say the next Fable will be AWFUL, and then surprising with a good game). He hypes himself that the game will be awesome, but it doesn't.
Now, that doesn't say the games are bad: I bought Fable 2 and d/led Fable 1 via XBLA Marketplace, so I can't say I hate the games. They have...their curve, but mostly because you have to realize they're not what he promises. They're fun, and somehow innovative since they allow a reasonable (and partly noticeable) development of your character mechanically speaking, but the story is not something to fall in love with, which is his greatest claim.
As for Fable 3, the only thing I have to say is: Project NATAL/Kinect, good riddance and great that it wasn't implemented in the game! Or, as far as I recall: having a game where you have to actually behave like your character is something I wouldn't entrust Molyneux with, something I'd rather keep my controller with.
However, I feel a bit bad that he's withdrawing some of the RPG elements. Perhaps the customization will be the same, but it's like this: Fable 1 was the late Medieval age, Fable 2 is the crossing between Medieval and Renaissance, and Fable 3 is Victorian age. The game already lost some good stuff (the Heal spell, wearable armor ) but gained some stuff that is quite frankly odd (firearms, something I don't usually specialize in).
All I say is, have to see what it'll bring to the table. You're supposed to become a king in the middle of the game, so maybe that'll make it a bit more interesting, but if I have to submit to Molyneux's ideas of purity and good... X.X

'Tis a shame I can only place names now...:
Nomu-baka, this is FAR from over...:
I really couldnt get into the fable style game, I didn't like the idea of pick your own path and you can change it at anytime, right up to the end somewhat bothered me
I am sooo ready for this game(apart from having money to buy it) I think probably for me the best part of this game will be watching my weapon develop with me. Also an epic storyline hopefully.

I'm wetting myself waiting for this game to come out
I never played the first Fable, but I have played the second one, I was quite impressed with how fast I finished the story of the game, I just spent lots of time afterwards doing the side quests and attempting to own every property that I could.

I played Fable 2 first, it's now one of my fave games ever! Then tried Fable 1 but it seemed ROOOBISH in comparison (kinda expected). Now I reeeeeeeally want Fable 3, but...
ALAS, i don't actually own an Xbox. I played the previous fables on my ex-flatmate's xbox. =(
I kept wondering if i would end up buying an xbox JUST for fable.............
Fable 1 = one of the best RPGs of all time, seriously it was massive and a lot of fun me and my bro played this to death
Fable 2 = oh wow such fail COMPARED to the first, it was decent but just not the same
Fable 3 = wtf you doing just get back to the fun formula and if you want something new try a new franchise not ruin fable, but i wont be critical since its not out yet i mean it could prove to be better then both others combined.
So picked it up last night, and it is excellent. Not gonna say to much cause there are some who have yet to get it. Just know that is sweet..
Please no spoilers in this thread.

I think that fable 2 was good, but i thought it could have fixed some obvious problems from the first, like shortness and replay value. I only played like 15 mins of fable 3, so i'm not sure what to say about length.
I'm interested in Fable 3. I dug Fable 2, and didn't really get the whole "we didn't get what was promised" vibe out of it... mostly because I was completely oblivious to any and all of the hype surrounding it.
What I am interested in though, is how it compares to Fable 2. What's the same, what's new, is it just as good, better or worse?

I'm very disappointed in some aspects, mainly to do with couch co op. In Fable 2, you were "tethered" to your co op partner, and you could only gain experience/gold when it came to being in someone else's game.
Seems to be the same way this time around too. The 2nd person in your game doesn't exist when storyline stuff is going on, and again you are tethered to your co op partner. It isn't a huge deal, and I understand that they did this to avoid having to do split screen... but its annoying to me and my guy all the same.
Other than that, same enemies (so far that I've encountered), with the same vulnerabilities... IE: Hollow men and their weakness to fire spells. Although now that I think about it, I'd be irritated if they changed stuff like this. Seeing as its still the same Albion... just x amount of years in the future from the events in Fable 2.
Is it anything like Mass Effect, where the things you do in the first one wind up affecting the happenings of the next game? That would be pretty sweet.

I am mainly more interested in knowing how the 2nd part of the game is. When you rule and have you fulfill what you promised to people.

That's not a spoiler, man. I remember hearing that from my friend who is obsessed with this series way before this game came out, and I'm not even all that interested in the series myself, to be honest, so me knowing that is pretty telling. Anyhoo...
Wuv, Yer Mom
I don't think so. Each Fable is a different time, different characters, different world pretty much. This supposedly takes place during Albion's industrial revolution.
That said, I'm half interested, half not. The first two Fables were overhyped by the developers, and I personally saw the first as a complete and utter failure. There was a completely linear progression throughout the game in all aspects. Story, quests, armor and weapons upgrades, etc. The game it's self was stupidly short, and... blah. It was bad.
The second was a good step up, it was a fun play, but not nearly as in depth as JRPG fans have come to expect from an RPG.
The 3rd doesn't even seem liek something I"d enjoy. It's not a full-on RPG, it has some odd elements...
/shrug
Nah, I know it takes place several (hundred?) years in the future. I was just curious like, if you're good or evil in the second game, the landscape would somehow be affected by your decisions. I'm cool if it's not, but it'd be a little innovative.
I may pick this one up. Still debating it lol.

I haven't completed the Road To Rule quest yet, still mucking around and finishing up quests and such. I got the ominous "[Such and Such a place] is far from here... if you have loose ends you need to tie up, now is the time."
In Fable 2, that's when the game advanced several years and you were stuck in the Spire. So I'm not taking that chance!
However, I read that your actions affect how your personal world of Albion looks like. One person's Albion could be an industrial mecca, where someone else's Albion is more natural looking. I'm not sure how much I buy it... as this was the same resource that said you could "unhinge" the camera for couch co op. Blah.
The biggest set back is that stupid glitch!!! It doesn't affect my game, but P's game is fubared. If he goes to Sanctuary (pauses) he gets stuck there. The back button/Start button doesn't work, and if he selects the map he gets stuck there too and can't fast travel. He has to save, exit to the dashboard then reload the game/his save. Its a bitch.
Hope they patch that aspect soon.
Being good is a bad and I will tell you why.
SPOILER!!:
Fable 3 was awful. This game leads you by the nose on what to do and where to go. 1 was the best in the series. 2 made steps in a good direction but it took the outline of the first one and didn't keep it as tight.
Originally the game was said to be what essentially Oblivion was. Knights, magic, choices, expansive world. In the end you got a cartoony light hearted game with customization, good music, and a fun world. 2 was okay, but they obviously didn't know how to end it since you pick your endings on a card, no real challenge or hard fight. And 3....oh 3. Nothing good came from this other than the assurance I won't buy anymore Fable games.
It has a bad opening and makes you take about a good 2 hours before you feel you're starting to get somewhere. And when you do you fight a group of bandits and face the leader, deciding whether he lives or dies....hmmm anyone remember Twinblade from Fable 1? The upgrading is unimaginative, like the story and characters. The music also reminded me of 80's slasher films with the strings coming in for suspense mid fight (which none were a challenge by the way) going from silence to DUN.... DUN DUN!
The becoming king also was said to be at the second half of the game. Not the last quarter. Which really is okay but not as incredible as anyone would hope. No shades of grey in this game and that's in a way what kills me. Mass Effect does it perfectly for 2 games now, though there's no comparison in quality between the 2.
Lastly the Arena and villian. Wow. I've played the Arena twice before and it gets worse everytime. I understand if something works you stick to it but they don't even try to make it inspiring. Again it's the same dribble you played from 1 and 2 but much sloppier and played to death. Also the evil black monster who destroys just for the sake of being evil (Mr Shadow from the Fifth Element) It was cool in a movie 13 years ago but in a game saying it's becoming more with each step. Err well it's not. Jack of Blades was the best villain the series had, and he wasn't deep by any means. But at least he's stylized. A giant black muk on the screen doesn't give me much hope for the people who come up with these games. I'm looking at you Peter Molyneaux....
If you like like hearing the word REVOLUTION and making pies by playing Simon which I did in the second installment. Well then have at it. For anyone else who's interested send me a line. I'll sell you my copy for $40.00 right now.
I got it today, been playing it a bit. Honestly, I'm moderately dissapointed.
The damn time skips between the games is really ****ing annoying. I'm half expecting Fable 4 to repalce my dog with a robod and hand me a light saber and beam rifle. I've already got the Force, so we're cool there.
The weapon upgrading thing is kind of lame. I recall reading somewhere that that asshat Peter said something to the effect that he was tired of making weapons for us. Tought shit Pete, you expect us to pay full price for the game, make a full ****ing game with everything in it.
Really annoyed that they keep moving away from the RPG elements... like health bars. This isn't a ****ing FPS, get the god damn shooter regeneration shit out of here.
I am liking the abundance of choices that the previous games seemed to lack. Yeah, they all had major choice, and some minor ones, but from what I've sene so far, there are choices everywhere; you can damn near alter your morality by choosing which side to lean to when you fart, I'm just hoping there'll be more to the morality than how much people like you. I'd like to see more good/evil only abilities like they were kinda trying to do in the original with allignment modifiers on spells.
I can't give the game a full evalutation yet, as I haven't finished it, so I have to keep giving it a fair chaince, but it seems that once again I've been let down.
For Our Lord Sheogorath, without Whom all Thought would be linear and all Feeling would be fleeting. Blessed are the Madmen, for they hold the keys to secret knowledge. Blessed are the Phobic, always wary of that which would do them harm. Blessed are the Obsessed, for their courses are clear. Blessed are the Addicts, may they quench the thirst that never ebbs. Blessed are the Murderous, for they have found beauty in the grotesque. Blessed are the Firelovers, for their hearts are always warm. Blessed are the Artists, for in their hands the impossible is made real. Blessed are the Musicians, for in their ears they hear the music of the soul. Blessed are the Sleepless, as they bask in wakeful dreaming. Blessed are the Paranoid, ever-watchful for our enemies. Blessed are the Visionaries, for their eyes see what might be. Blessed are the Painlovers, for in their suffering, we grow stronger. Blessed is the Madgod, who tricks us when we are foolish, punishes us when we are wrong, tortures us when we are unmindful, and loves us in our imperfection.
I now have this game and i was extremely ready for it although i got asked for ID whilst buying it whats the downloaded content anywhoo?
