Is fable really known for its storyline? I remember playing the first one and I thought it was pretty sub par, 'train as a guild assasin, save your sister, but not if you don't want to' with a few highlights in the storyline here and there, but not really that much

There was a story in the 1st. Jack of Blades. Ex-Hero. You gotta kill him. You go on a huge quest to do so. The 2nd had a definite story.
