Yep, that's when he comes every time. I made the mistake of not having the patience to wait for him the first time I played the game, and he was gone forever. Definitely a bad move, because Shadow becomes very kickass later in the game. Trust me, you'll love him.

Kinda late, but yeah, I just beat'im yesterday.

2nd power... I dunno if you did that or not, but it doesn't work. I tried that and using doom on the two guys when I was stuck in the battle and they always come back.

I just had the wall ring equipped on edgar and kept his HP at max (the wall ring will allow you to dodge the magic attacks while the big guy's gone). Anyway, kill two of your characters after edgar's HP is at max and you've casted everything you can on him (safe, haste, etc) and the guy will appear.

Once he appears just keep using drill until he dies. If more than one of your characters are alive, he'll disappear... that's why you gotta kill two of'em (to speed things up).

Ok, i got another question too.

I got the cursed shield in Narshe and took the sword rather than the Esper, since I read in a FAQ that you can still learn ultima by keeping a ribbon and the cursed shirld equipped for 250 battles. So... I went to the collosium and put up my cursed shield... and I got a cursed ring. I thought "hey, awesome... now what can I do with this? ... I'unno yet, so I'll see what I can get by betting it."

I bet the ring and won a zephyr cape... but then I went back to equip the shield and ribbon and battle to learn ultima... but the shield was gone. I checked the relics and the ring was gone too! Are my items supposed to disappear even if I WIN in the colloseum?!

Also... can I get another cursed shield? If so, how or where can I get it? 'Cause I really wanna learn ultima.

Yes. The colleseum has some pretty high fees. They keep the victor's item, and give the loser's item to the victor. So your shield is gone. And sorry, but there's no way to get another.

For the record, the Cursed Ring teaches you X-Zone, and does nothing else for you at all. No stat boosts (but there are penalties), no positive statuses (but it does cause countdown doom I think), and doesn't ever change, even if you fight 255 battles.

I hate to be a bother and just post questions... but I got another one, if you could help me out again... When I'm in Ebot's Rock and am gathering coral for the treasure chest (so I can fight Hidon). How many coral do I need? I fed that thing a whole bunch of'em, but it still wouldn't let me pass.

Also, do I need to feed'im a certain amount at once, or does it count'em up as I feed it little by little (which, so far, has been around 20-40 coral each time...).

You still can. If you got the Ragnarok Magicite in Narshe, it'll teach Ultima. Or, if you didn't, I believe Celes learns Ultima at a high level, so if you get her to that level and learn everything else, she'll (obviously) have every spell.

I thought the number of coral was around 40, but I really don't know. As I'm not too fond of Strago or Relm, and you don't really get anything out of it except one Lore, I think it's somewhat pointless.

You... walk in the front door? You can't get there immediately from the start of the game, but you can when you go back to Narshe. You have to wait for the story to progress, first.

Vigor is pretty much strength.

Basically: The higher your character's vigor,
the stronger your character's attack power is.
That's why one should value Bismark's
Vigor + 2 stat bonus. With it, it is possible
to max damage at an earlier level.

my question: In the world of ruin, in the Veldt Cave, those weird guys say that there is a dragon up north or something... and found the dragon forest, but no dragon. it made no sense to me, because i killed all the dragons. morons. if someone could just explain to me which dragon they were talking about i'd be a happier man.

well i think they meant the brachisaurus in the dino forest is wat it is called. its a powerful dino and u get econimizer from it. and if your talking about the eight dragons to beat to get something then u get esper crusader from the final dragon u beat

yeah, i knew you got crusader. they just confused me when they said there was a dragon up north in a forest, so i searched for a dragon... and just found regular dragons to fight. i thought it was just stupid. thank you though. FFVI is a good game.

I think I read somewhere once that if you use Vanish/Doom on Brachiosaurus that you wouldn't be able to get Economizer. Anyone know if this is true? I fought him several times back in the day and beat him the fair way and got several economizers.

You get many random items. I think you get a force armor, a safety bit, a pearl lance after defeating the dragon in one of the rooms, and the gem box at the top of the tower. The gem box, when equipped, lets you cast two magic spells in one turn.

Edit: The dragon is one of the eight dragons you need to get Crusader.

Edit again: To defeat the Magimaster cast berserk on him so he wont cast magic. From there, you can either spend a ton of time casting rasp and osmose on him to lower his mp so he won't cast ultima, or, if you have the Phoenix esper, you can cast life 3 on all of your characters before he uses Ultima when he dies and use vanish then x-zone / doom on him.

Not really, Gogo is almost useless. I didn't use Gogo almost at all. If you want know some glitch here it is: Take Umaro with you when you enter there. You know that Umaro is in berserk all the time so it doesn't learn magic and it only hits. Mostly do what Wolfmiester said and you will be alright...

Yes, it's the Air Anchor if I remember correctly.

Quick Colliseum Question:

If I enter the Colliseum and wager an item to fight someone. If I win, do I still lose my original item that I wagered?

Yes. The item you wager "turns into" the item you "win."

That's how you upgrade equipment, more or less.

If you come across any of those creatures, yes. Off the top of my head I can't give you a list of any creatures that appear in both worlds, but I know there are a handful. All others, however, are gone once the WoB is gone, thus rendering it impossible to get their Rages.

A lot of Rages do the same things though, so it's not too big of a deal if you miss, unless you're doing it for completion value.

I just want to state for the record that this is incorrect.

All the monsters you fought in the World of Balance are still found in the World of Ruin after the change over.

I had a guy from gamefaqs who made an FAQ there called The Rage Guide answer a few questions I had, and then reasked him this, and he said I could still get them then after the world changed over.

Yeah I'm almost positive they are all aquirable in the WOR veldt. If I recall correctly any enemy youve defeated that can give you a rage randomly spawns at the veldt.

Actually Lazer. You're right. Every enemy you have defeated in the WoB spawns in the WoR. So I'd defeat as many different types of enemies as possible in the WoB.

Spawns on the veldt that is.

They won't be found anywhere else. So you really need to not miss any of the monsters in the WoB or you'll lose the chance of getting the rage for good.

I missed Trapper and Over-Mind and had to restart my perfect file recently because of that.

Here is the FAQ I'm using from gamefaqs, and it has an awesome Rage Walkthrough to tell you where and when to battle the monsters so that they will appear on the Veldt.
