nix: Pads feel like wearing a diaper. Tampons are less messy, but run the risk of TSS if you leave them in for too long. Back when I used pads and tampons, I'd do tampons during the day and sleep in a pad (I dunno, in case I slept for 12 hours?). But NOW I have something better and more comfortable that won't KILL ME if I leave it in for a day, because it doesn't grow bacteria. Also, less waste and less money spent on my period. Huzzah!
It's... funny that most guys and some girls are weirded out by menstruation, considering half the population goes through it. Like I get not wanting to go down on your gf when she's in full flow mode (kind of messy), but not being able to talk about it seems immature. Not accusing anyone here, mostly just speaking from personal experience. And it bothers me that some of these awkward dudes will become dads and make their daughters feel weird/ashamed about their brand new periods for no reason. Girls should feel comfortable, or at least indifferent, about a process that they will experience for most of their adult lives.
What I'm saying is, no one really gives a shit if you're buying tampons. If you're a dude, everyone knows they ain't for you. If you're a girl over 11 (or thereabouts), it's not crazy that you'd need some damn tampons. If someone DOES try to make you feel uncomfortable, **** em. He/she is an emotionally stunted twat with nothing interesting to offer anyone else except, "Guess what someone bought today?! Tampons."
