I want to play a game.

You raise good points, but the US is really in a damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't scenario. On the one hand, the scope of American-led and -involved wars in the Middle East (and other regions historically) is vast. On the other hand, the scope of scenarios where foreign influence can be justified on some level is also vast -- just look at the Ivory Coast as you have.

What I'm interested in is the selection process. I think it's hard to avoid acknowledging, on some level, that the more resource-rich a given country or region there is, the more likely foreign power is going to be involved. The international community doesn't give a stuff about Fiji (military dictatorship) because all it really exports is sugar, and that's state-controlled and continuing unabated, and their people still have to import (cheap, fatty cuts of New Zealand and Australian) meat.

Economic consequences provide additional impetus for invasion, for sure.

How was his opening book in that series? I gotta get on the ball and try to catch up. I always end up reading old books I've already read instead of new ones.

Well I thought it would take longer than the 3 months it did, and I still thought the last book was comming out this fall. Now its delayed till march of 2012 if not more. Sanderson said he wants to re-read the series before starting and that this will be the most difficult book he has ever written. So I'm not even hopefully for the March release he has set as his goal. I just downloaded all the audio books last night so I might listen to the series(atleast parts of it) one more time after I finish ToM before the last book.

I didn't actually, I quit about 400 pages in on my first read. I actually wanted to read the whole series before the last book so instead of finishing ToM and going through them all again. I started from the begining of the series back in December. I took a small break from the series to read some Drizzt books I have been putting off, but I actually just started ToM again. I am only about 80 pages in. So I haven't even made it back to where I was. If I actually get some good reading in this weekend I should be able to finish a good portion of it.

I see, well its a good game, but like I said in the new game thread, don't expect a huge cohesive story, It's more of a bunch of little stories

Yeah, I totally had no idea as to who or what the voice could have been/belonged to. All those times I've played through FF VII, and I just kind of thought someone else was speaking to him...somehow... Heh... Makes sense that it's his subconscious.

yea it seemed a bit confusing, it really didn't make much sense to whoever she was talking to, cause unless you edited your post it seems like you did have your references too. It seemed like not to many other people were confused so even if she was talking to you, you probably had enough info so people knew what you were saying. lol now I may sound confusing...

Well to me, it sounds like she's staying in, because if they wanted her out over her knee, I'm sure they would have discharged her already. But you're right. Having that peace of mind with knowing for sure about the situation would be great. I hope you get word from her soon, and a good word at that. ^^

My kitty? She's a pain in the ass. I found out this morning that she has halfway chewed through my PSP charger cable, so now I have to set it up a certain way so I can use it. She's adorable though, so I can't stay mad at her for long. :3

well what happened in some Arabian countries was a consequence of the existence of some awfully unjust governments that used to neglect their people's needs,it's an Arabian revolution more likely, so some could get what they wanted by standing as one hand against their government , some are still fighting to take off the crazy president who killed his people like my beloved brothers in Libya may Allah help them .When ppl are glad having their own rights fulfilled I would be the same but I'm completely against the violent protests .
concerning ME as a Saudi citizen I'm happy of the good changes our king took , he is trying to satisfy his people and so we are now, we spare ourselves the pain of protests and are rather celebrating the new reforms . Thank God ^^
All what I want is to see the people who used to suffer and been humiliated live a good life.
