They've got Alex Garland doing the screenplay, which is good, because he is reliable. But I do have trouble imagining Knightly in that role. In my head Ruth was always quite an awkward little person, and I don't know if Knightly will be able to pull that off. We'll see. I'm looking forward to it, though.

I've only seen it intermittently. My girlfriend's brother was watching it one time I was over, and I would walk in, watch 10 minutes, walk out, walk back in. I know the gist, but I'll tell you what; I'll aim to have watched the whole thing by this time next week, then we'll talk.

Crazy Belgians. Anyway, I have seen "Cidade de Deus", known to lazy Americans as City of God. Terrific film, possibly top twenty of the decade.

The Departed is the most overrated Scorsese film. The original was far superior and didn't have the lazy ending.

Wait a minute, did you really just say that The Departed is better than Taxi Driver? I don't think we can speak anymore.

I am a film lover, but I have not seen that movie.
