So you wait for them to thaw, then you open it. Then you let them sit around so they can get ripe? Or do you wait for it to ripen before you cut it open? Such a confusing fruit.

Haha. I was always told to put no metal in the microwave. I just break dishes instead. We all have to satisfy our lifetime break quota, if you will.

20 cakes?! That's a lot of cakes... Ostrich cake. I wonder if people can tell the difference. Still, now I want to try and hard boil one of these. I bet they're expensive.

I have no clue what it tastes like. I think some jerky products actually mix it in with beef. "Ostrich meat tastes similar to lean beef and is low in fat and cholesterol, as well as high in calcium, protein and iron. Uncooked, it is dark red or cherry red, a little darker than beef." No doubt there is a teriyaki flavor.

Have you tasted it in more than one stage of its ripening? I tend to like my fruit on the sour side, so semi-unripe is the best. Well, maybe not for peaches and pears. Those have to be just right. And is the majority of the fruit actually edible?

I'm surprised it didn't burn, or that it didn't separate unevenly. Why would you put aluminum foil in the microwave though...!? I remember a friend of mine decided to microwave an empty bowl for 10 minutes. It shattered into hot little pieces.

Probably about as much as a chicken egg relative to its size. Meaning a lot. Just imagine hard boiling this though. Usually I just eat eggs whole... but... Well, if anyone could hard boil this thing, it'd be Bill Gates!

Supposedly they eat pelican eggs in some countries too. And have you had this century egg before? It looks interesting...
