Well, I haven't been to New York in a while so I may choose that, but I'll be going up there in August or September for my Uncle's wedding.

As for other places: I would like to visit Japan, check out Tokyo and some other major cities. Italy for all the yummy food and the museums. Dubai looks to be a very interesting city and one that is on the rise though they are some hard times last time I checked. Jakarta and Singapore are some other cities that I have an interest in.

I would say I'm around 1800 miles or 2,880 km away from the deserts. The deserts found in the U.S are on the western part of the country in states like: New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Utah, California, Nevada, Idaho, and Oregon.

I believe you are thinking of the state of Michigan which is near to the 5 great lakes. The 5 great lakes are: Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie, and Ontario.

I like geography as well though they never really taught the subject at my schools that much. It was very bare bones which seems to be how it is treated across the U.S.

I live in the U.S. in the state of Virginia. I've lived in Virginia ever since November 1996. Before moving to Virginia, I lived in New York. Most of my family comes from New York though as the years went by, we spread out.
