When I was a child, I got my arm stuck in an elevator door and turned out fine (true story).

All types share a typical cell wall, which is thicker than in most other bacteria. The prefix 'myco' is latin like a lot of prefixes and means 'waxy' and refers to the parts in their cell walls that appear to have that texture.
