i'll take your advice when it comes to it but for now I'll still try the magical "ignore it" solution but that has a history of not working out too well for me. Besides I already posted there today, its slightly better if I take a couple days off fighting a futile fight otherwise I just get worked up and might say things that could backfire on me even more then they usually do.

I wouldn't say I force my views on anybody. I play hardball with arguments, but ultimately it's up to an individual to decide if my argument was compelling enough to adopt my position.

I'm not so much devoid of emotion, as able to ignore them. I feel things just like anybody else, I just have the ability to push them aside and think before I feel. When I'm with friends, I've got a sense of humor, I'll be happy, whole nine yards. As soon as I'm in a situation in which emotions aren't benneficial or desirable, I stop acknowledging them.

Usually being nice in counter produtive to making a point, since quite often people take offense simply from having somebody take up a contrary position in an argument. When convenient, I consider other people's feelings.

No, I have no strong interest in professional game designing. Like many gamers it has crossed my mind but I don't have the originality for it and I placed it as something along the lines of people dreaming to be professional athletes, where its nice to think of but doesn't normally happen. RPG maker is extremely user friendly and I have no serious education in any sort of programming language so it's not really in the cards for me. I'm more interested in the medical field which I am currently getting an education in (I have a bachelor of Science Biochem Honors and I will be going to Pharmacology or Optometry school next year)

Ahhhh! Acer is the devil! my last laptop was an Acer, it was cruddy from the beginning. Anyways like I said it's very cliched. Basically an evil guy steals crystals/gems/objects (trying to decide on something less cliched) from several kindoms in the world to open up some alternate dimension and harness its "evil" to create/rule his own world. The main character and his friend start off as the typical nobodies recuit some people and will fight oppose him. It's a lot of theory right now as a dragon you raise will become an airship, loyalties will change, there will be secret dungeons and items to find. Like I said it's really a side-project but I feel i'm getting much better at it my original towns look like crap compared to my new dynamic towns. lol my favorite part so far is a forest that has a space-time rip where you have to fight enemies like Mario, X-men, kirby and even duck hunt ducks that have been mentally destabilized. Theres even a town that will expand through the game that has characters lik Piccolo (from DBZ) that has a senzu bean field, Link who plays his ocarina silently responds but owns a collection of bows, hammers, shoes and tunics and GoGo the mimic as mayor. It's all for fun to pass the time on occasion.

yea I have it all on an external hardrive but I have no other viable computer to work on it. Saving it directly to my external isn't an option as my laptop is very sensitive and could reset with any minor touch. I use an external monitor, a wireless mouse and an external keyboard so I have no direct connection with the laptop. When I plugged in the external hard drive once before it blue-screened my laptop, I only barely managed later to transfer important data including my game.
My game isn't really testable yet because I havn't added any random encounters to level up with mainly because I have to test to see if switches and dialogue all works well and battles would just interfere.

Pragmatically speaking, that's probably correct. There's a bigger difference in actual application of intelligence between an average person and a genius than there is between a genius and a bigger genius. Actually in some reagrds being a bit lower can be an advantage, as I'll touch on in my asnwer to your question.

I was bullied, mostly in early grades. I was the kid who fought back, whether or not I could actually win. Nothing I'd consider particlarly serious (but then I don't consider an overwhelming majority of bullying serious), got into fights pretty regularly, Usually over disagreements that started as verbal arguments, or me making people look stupid in class (usually unintentionally) and them being pissed off over it. I don't know if you're familiar with the Myers Briggs test, but I'm an INTP. So I'm naturally introverted, and have underdeveloped emotional responses to things. My mind naturally wants to function based on cold logic to a point where subjectivity and bad arguments almost literally hurt my brain. One of the big characteristics of the INTP type is that we tend to have very few physical and emotional needs, meaning external problems like bullies, relationships, bad home life, etcetera have a lower impact on us, because by and large we just don't really give a shit. I've never needed to feel wanted, respected, praised, liked, it just doesn't matter to me. There are several assumed causes of sociopathy, alot related to eperiences, but just based on who I am, I highly doubt any of them are to blame. One which is perfectly plausible however, is high IQ. So I'm a naturally unemotional personality type, have a high IQ which leads me to ignore emotions in favor of facts, and I'm a sociopath, which reduces my empathy even further. I'm by no means a severe sociopath. I'm not an animal abuser, I don't steal, I don't lie too terribly often, not overly agreeisve or violent (not to say I'm a pacifist, but I'm not one to throw the first punch), never had any relationship problems. Only of the main symptoms of sociopathy I can honestly say I'm aware that I have are lack of remorse and empathy, and the tendancy to say things that probably aren't nescessary to make my point. Like calling Dan a douche for example. I say alot of shit that probably offends people when I'm annoyed, angered, or losing patience, though in most cases I say shit under the (probably generally inaccurate assumptions) that it won't come off as too terribly offensive, just because I can honestly say I wouldn't be offended much by the same thing being said to me.

In a nutshell, I'm about as morally and emotionally dead as a person can be without having suffered some form of damage to the emotion centers of the brain. To make matters worse, I'm a moral nihilist, so not only do I not generally consider moral claims valuable, I'll actively deny the very existence of morality aside from human subjectivity. So yeah, I'm pretty much nature's perfect asshole.

what are you making your game with? As a hobby I have a side project of an RPG I am making using RPG maker 2003. When I review what I have done so far it's an incredibly cliched game in my opinion so far but I've put so much work into it it's to late to rework it all. It probably has 4ish hours of content so far and many more bits of unfinished parts. I on and off work on it, it's on hold right now because my laptop is going down the crapper so anything I make might be lost.

BTW in that FFXIII "has anything been removed thread" Silver quoted a statement from the head director/producer/whatever, if you follow the link I posted there you can see that the FFXIII crew lost a lot of credibility already so nothing they state can be taken to be 100% true.

meh, maybe. Giving negative rep seems pointless to me and it will just likely work back to me with negative rep. Unlike bullies I would rather spread the good rather then the bad, so if I ever do rep it's positive, sometimes I'm lucky enough to get some back. I'll report if needed but even that is pointless, For example Heartless Angel outright called me a douchebag on my profile page, I reported him but he'll likely see no consequences. I have no luck/respect with that kind of thing.

Thx for the offer but I don't really know if us snowballing together will do much better. I'm not a psychologist, I only know from life-long experience and that seems to not clash well for me online. I know I'm right but I can't emotionally collect myself properly to articulate an argument that would be taken seriously by pig-headed people. Like I said, I'm neither a Psychologist nor am I a politician (I can't debate well) so it's an uphill battle against people who would like to validate their degree anyway they can including a FF forum (no offense). I shouln't be there in the first place, not because I'm wrong but because I don't handle arguments/debates well. I kinda even see placing the blame on the bullied as further bullying (basically "na na na, you couldn't handle it, you are weak!") so it again gets personal and just seems dumb to me that they would bully in a bullying thread.

Psyche is probably the most difficult of sciences to prove causality with, just because we still know so little about the brain (relatively speaking, we know quite a bit, but compared to what we don't know, it's not much)

I think he actually got that backwards, I seem to remember learning that the difference between higher IQs was larger than the same numeric distance in lower ones, but I'm not entirely certain on that, and can't find a source to confirm or deny it. I'll keep looking and let you know when I find a reliable source.

Nah even if i unsubscribed from it I would be pulled back to it to see if anyone actually agrees with me and continue to fight the good fight. I got away from the war mongering thread because I got several comments and rep+ for some of my responses so I felt validated enough to leave that thread as is but with threads like the bullying one it bugs the hell out of me how much people will downplay serious problems and even go the opposite way forcing injustice to continue in the world merely to pretend to have a superior opinion on the matter to make themselves look good in a narcissistic way.
