Btw, you'll forgive my little joke. You contradicted yourself in your reference of Biopiracy in which you stated it was impossible to take a patent out on a plant but only in the featured gene and then stated that patents also existed in cultivars, which are infact plants. I was confused, so I thought perhaps you got this information from a Wikipedia article. I was tired, misunderstood and it seemed funny.

I hate it when that happens to a post and it only ever seems to happen to huge posts you've spent a great amount of time on.

I just didn't understand where you were bringing the discussion. It seemed like you were giving precedence for GMs from HYVs, so that's what I assumed. Both will have serious problems with sustainability, I assure you. Someday, I see the effects of the green revolution to be felt in those countries the same way the Potato famine was felt in Ireland. Dependence begets these things. Hopefully, the effects of the green revolution will not be felt in the venture of GMs. It's not that I don't believe in the technology. I don't believe the people using it, care about it enough to secure it fully.

It's kind of a crusade subject for my career, so I still had it fresh in mind except one or two facts. But beware, I did write it early in the morning on zero sleep. So it may have some gaping holes in it's logic. Enjoy.

It's not as cold as you would think since the Gulf of Mexico keeps us relatively warm. It's just hit around -1 about now, but the snow has slowed the country down to a halt.

Got to admit I have a limited knowledge of post-punk bands, and I dunno if I've ever heard the term "no-wave" before. Maybe I know some new wave bands, though. Does Oingo Boingo count? I think YOU should start a thread about that, and provide links to songs from artists that you like, so I can check them out.
