    Your First Movie

Do you remember what the first movie that you ever watched was? Hell if I do. How about this, then; what is the first movie you remember ever watching? And I'm talking feature length, not some 20 minute special or whatever. Personally, there are a handful that I might narrow mine down to...

-Back to the Future. One of my earliest memories, in fact, is going down the street to a neighbor's house to see their deloriun. It was pretty neat. My mom wouldn't let me watch the part where the Libyans crashed, for some reason (or the part where Doc got shot, I think.)

-Disney's Robin Hood, with the fox and stuff. I assume it was one of my first because it's one of the ones I remember watching all the time as a kid.

...and a million others... well, let's narrow it down even further: What was the first movie you remember going to see in the theater? I think my first was The Little Mermaid, back at the old White Side theater (this cool old theater that had a balcony and Gothic decoration. Sadly, it's closed now.) Yup. The renaissance of Disney, itself. It was fun. I think Ursula might have scared me a little bit, but not really that much (but I did have a nightmare of some witch falling into a body of water, turning into a portrait, and then having her head explode because she was under water too long...) I haven't seen it for years...

What about all of you? Answer any of the questions that you like, and please add a little description instead of just listing names off. Or else I might kill you... beware! Anyhoo...

I can easily remember my first ever visit to the cinema was to go see "the iron giant", though I can't remember which year. God I loved it, all the new stuff, although being in the dark was a bit scary. Also I remember feeling really sad at the end of the film when the giant dies

As for my first ever film at home, I think it was The Lion King, as I was born near when it came out and my mum got it on VHS. Also another sad film. The Fox and the Hound followed soon after.

Wow none of the films I've watched when I was young are particularly happy ones (Well The Lion King ends ok but it's still sad!)

I think the first movie I watched and paid any attention to was PeeWee's Big Adventure, although my grandmother says that the first movie I watched was Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark. I don't really remember Raiders, so I'll go ahead and say PeeWee's Big Adventure. I still get freaked out over the Large Marge scene, and the nightmare scenes still give me the creeps (crazy clown doctors). I still love it, though.

The first movie I saw in theatres was the Lion King. My family and I loved this so much that we went back a second time. The sequels aren't nearly as good as the original.

Damn you kids make me feel old

My first movie that I recall was TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES III!! I saw it in the theaters with my mommy when I was about 4 years old. It was a great feeling indeed, until years later I found out that TMNT3 was a let down in comparison to the first two movies. When I found out about this, I was let down and went into a slight depression because my first movie I remember seeing was subpar. But, in the eye of the storm, I realized that this means there is room for improvement, there was a chance to better one's self through being able to understand the mistakes of others. I took this to heart, and without seeing the shitty TMNT3, I would never be half the man I am today.

I specifically remember seeing Toy Story first, you know, the Pixar one with the toys. Ahh, good times......good times.

Hmm, the first movie that I can remember would either be The Fox and the Hound, or the Broadway play CATS on VHS. (I know it's not technically a "movie", but it was on VHS. ) All I really remember is that The Fox and the Hound made me cry, and CATS scared me in some parts. =/

I don't remember the first one I watched. I know this because as a mom I often resort to movies to get some quiet time from my own little demonic child. So I know my mom must have had me sit and watch a few. However, I do recall some of my earliest ones.

Carebears Alice In Wonderland - I am still looking for this DVD in stores, but will probably have to get on Amazon or something to find it. I loved this movie a lot. Especially the baby unicorn caught in the thorns. It was precious.

Candyman - My parents gave me the choice to either go to bed or get spanked. If I went to bed I didn't get to watch this movie. If I let them spank me I could watch it. I chose to get my ass beat. I watched the movie. I could not get out of my bed at night until I was 9. Great parenting skills, eh? A**holes. ><
