First of all, Friday the 13th and Elm Street are not horror films. Horror means to strike fear in the audience. They are more like cartoons. We root for the slashers because the "victims" are usually annoying jerks or do some sort of bad deeds that get punished, and we're like "Hell yeah, about time he/she died."

...That is not horror. Halloween, however, is horror. The original, anyway.

Saw isn't Horror either. It's torture porn. It gives the feeling of repulsion and disgust, not fear.

Although I'm not going to vote on the poll because I've never really seen TCM or 28.

Jason = Friday the 13th. It's on the poll. Also, Child's Play isn't horror. It's more comedy with a serial killer as the pro/antagonist.

Oh, I didn't know that Friday the 13th was the same thing

The newer Chucky's were kind of comical, like Bride of Chucky, but the one's after that were crap.
What was the other one I saw? I think it was like Freddy and Jason in Space or something? How random and stupid was that

I guess I haven't seen too many "horror" films then.

    Ta DA!!!:

I'm thinking about creating a hybrid. A dolphin-monkey. Half dolphin, half monkey. Do you think it's possible?
I was thinking that since I'm artificially creating it, I'll create it with rocket fuel instead of blood, and thus it will be able to fly, using the dolphin's dorsal fins as wings. And from the air, it will look down upon us all and protect us against sharks, and search for bananas.

I must second Locke4God's assessment it is psychological horror and there is more than one type of horror films. Saw being a "torture porn"? That is not true whatsoever, Saw does have one trap/test that I remember, where the trap/test could be considered as "torture porn", if you want a better movie series that exemplifies "torture porn" try Hostel. Psychological horror is different than the random scary moment that makes a person jump. In Bravo's top 100 scariest films of all time a lot of the films were psychological horror; those films are about placing yourself in the victim's shoes and most likely knowing the victim's situation you would be scared as well. And the people they used for their opinions were people in the horror movie business so it would be safe to assume they know what they are talking about.

Am I the only one that thinks the Saw series is completely played out? I stopped watching after the third one and haven't bothered since then.

My favorite horror franchises off that list is Halloween, Friday The 13th, and A Nightmare On Elm Street. I also like 28 Days Later but haven't watched the other ones yet.

EDIT: And I liked the first two Child's Play movies and Bride Of Chucky. Seed Of Chucky was a complete joke.
