    Band of Brothers

Correct me on this if I'm wrong (which I'm not) but this series is pure brilliance. It's really entertaining and (so I'm told) actually very historically accurate, including the uniforms. I especially like that they have the real people the characters are based on to introduce episodes.

I was hooked on this as soon as my friend put it on. I admit I was a tad apprehensive at first about the whole thing. I thought it was going to be the typical bull-crap WWII abortion that the world usually spews out. Films like Black Hawk Down and Pearl Harbor are prime examples of these. I was very, very surprised by how brilliant it was. I wasn't impressed by the stupidly camp British commandos, though. We don't all sound like we're in the royal family and dine purely on tea and crumpets.

On the whole this drama delivered in most areas. The visuals were great, the sound was realistic enough for me to be captivated. Even the most annoying characters were strangely like-able. The whole thing made me feel the friendship between the men. The only actor I wasn't sure about was David Schwimmer. This was purely because every time he came on my head would go "tee hee, it's Ross from Friends!"

    Anywho. Did anybody watch this?

I'm watching the Pacific son so please don't ruin that for me.

I've only seen about 3 episodes. So far they were perfect. I like anything that is WWII related. The entire show just gets to you, makes it feel so real.

I cannot sing the praises of Band of Brothers enough. It is absolutely mind blowingly brilliant and really makes me appreciate the sacrifices that these men made that much more. From what I've read, everything that's happened is almost completely accurate, which makes it that much more impressive. I own the DVD box set, and I really can't get enough of it. I've seen the entire series maybe 7-8 times already, and each time I watch it, I'm still a little amazed that I find something new.

I'm not gonna lie, but The Pacific is NOT Band of Brothers, so do not expect it to be the same thing. It only really follows a few Marines, and not an entire company. Still good stuff though.

I agree with the general sentiment. It's really a fantastic piece of work, and I bought the box set for my brother for Christmas a few years ago. I don't really need to add anything more; if you haven't seen Band of Brothers, just do it.

    QFT, however.

But The Pacific is really, really awful. If you're looking for combat, don't go here. If you're looking for pathetic, typical and stereotypical WWII sexual encounters, then go here. I gave up watching when an American premature ejaculated with a girl, at the house of a Greek-immigrant Australian family. What the **** that has to do with the Pacific theatre is beyond me. I was also holding out for them to show the Americans in NZ, but no luck.

I have watched the box set over 10 times since I got it so for me, it is the best ever TV series hour for hour. When I originally watched it it felt like I was there. I have never felt as tense while watching anything as when they are waiting to board the planes in the second episode. Pure f*cking gold.
