I see. I'll have to check that out. Are there any cool secrets in SH3 that you know of other than the....

    Spoiler:
    Alien ending?

I'm just about to ride to Silent Hill in SH3. I'll...let you know how that goes.

    *EDIT*

Now in the good old hospital. I just killed off a few of those naughty, naughty nurses. These things are hands down the creepiest thing in SH3.

Not that I know of! Not too educated on SH3 so far!

Blah. I HATE nurses in EVERY SH that I've played. (1, 2 and 4). I think fours' nurses were too frigging hard to kill, even on easy mode. In fact, is it me, or are all nurses on those games really hard to kill? =\

Yeah, I am going through SH2, last place I saved was in the Mobile House. Though I am not saying SH1 sux, you can see a lot of new things in SH2, but I won't read those spoilers till tomorrow. I looked for that song you mentioned but I couldn't find any music, just the backround noises.

I am going through them in order but I guess I wouldn't need to, just now figuring out where to go next.

So I went to BestBuy to pick up a $9.99 copy of SH4, and I find out that my local BB doesn't stock it anymore. Then I can't find it on bestbuy.com. So I eBay it, and ended up paying 25 bucks for it.

That sucks, man. Did they have it for $9.99 at one point in time? They had it here and I figured they'd have it nation wide. I'm not suprised that it was gone, though. I took my friend Phil to Best Buy so he could pick one up and they were all sold out.

Hell, I wouldn't have even known about it if I hadn't have gone elsewhere looking for it. A couple of people from Game Crazy and EB Games told me that Best Buy was selling it for $9.99, so I went there and picked up a copy. There were four copies left.

One of the girls who told me about it said that she picked up three copies of it. My guess is that she hopped on Ebay and jacked up the price because it's becoming hard to find.

Don't feel bad, though. I just paid $20.99 for SH2 on Ebay. I've been searching everywhere for the games. I drove everywhere but to my hometown Gamestop. When I went there to check up on a job, I happened to look over in mid conversation to see Silent Hill 2 and 3 sitting on the shelf. I didn't have the money for both, so I had to choose.

I picked up SH3 for $24.00 and waited until about a week ago when I had money to go get SH2. Well, as luck would have it, someone bought it. It was only $19.99. I held the damned game in my hands and everything. It was right there and when I came back for it...it was gone.

    *EDIT*

Had we have started this club a month ago, I would have picked up a couple of copies of SH4 as prizes for "Cry of the Siren". I may still do that but via Ebay or a few other prizes that are cool and Silent Hill oriented to send out for extra difficult challenges like...I don't know...surviving an entire boss battle (a difficult one) with a melee weapon. There'd have to be some sort of proof that it was completed, though.

    It's not impossible!

Well, update on my playing, I'm about to do the rest of the hospital just after it's turned dark. I've had troubles playing, because my brother is so young and doesn't allow me to play it while he's around (almost every minute of the motherfucking day. I should have that hospital pimped while he's out, though.

And yeah... Bah... I need a PS2 that works with british AND American games... So bad, yeah. It's...rawwwr. Annoying to fuck that I can't even play my games...

Another alternative to get you playing those games would be to just buy an American PS2 and an outlet/power converter. That's what I did with mine when I went over there. Hell, I could just send you my converter if you want. I don't think I'll be using it again. The only thing that I can't figure out was the games were in black and white.

I'm sure there is a simple explanation for it. I just don't know what it is.

When I get some cash, I could always donate my old PS2 to your cause. I'm planning on getting a new one (one of the fancy, cool-guy slim ones) anyhow. Now I'm wondering why it was in black and white....

    Who knows?

Wow, seriously? O_o;;...Haha, thanks, if you find there's a time when you don't want that ole PS2 and converter, when it's sitting there, getting all dusty...you could send it this way, and I'd see if theres something I could give you in return. =D

NOTE: THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE SEXUAL FAVOURS. ((Sorry, I couldn't resist that. xD!))

Also, I had my Devil May Cry 3 black and white... I played around with the colour plug at the back of my tv, and then it was in colour. I had been really confused as to WHY my game was in black and white, then playing with the colour and... yeah, it was weird. Maybe you need to unplug and then re-plug your colour switches into your tv??

Anyway, I'm about to enter the Silent Hill historical center... well, I'm in there, I hit the save point on the counter. I'll be playing again, most likely tomorrow, if my brother pisses off for a while.

    DAMN IT! (kidding!)

Yeah, I'll send it along if I'm able to get ahold of a new one. I've never had my PS2 go black and white here, just over in England.

So your brother won't let you play it because he's afraid of it or what? If that's the case, you should tape him to the chair and make him watch you play it. You'd definitely have to video tape that though as it might be the funniest thing I've ever seen.

My brother is quite a bit younger then me. He's almost 12, and he's really whiny. He's scared shitless of SH. He claims he thinks it's cool, but everyone knows he has nightmares about it.

    I should force him to watch that monster come out of the wall on the first bit of SH4. (I didn't put a spoiler tag around that, because it was at the beginning of the game, and I don't think it was really nessarsary.) ^^;

Argh I hate the whole region thing, there are a few games that I don't get to play because of it. But PAL normally gets all the bonus stuff where as NTSC doesn't.

You need to force your brother to play it so he grows some balls, I want to get my brother to play it, mind you he's 16 so I think he could handle it.

I still haven't done anything and tonight I am working on fixing my webpage so yeah. But I will have a good later perhaps.

I just want to remind everybody!

When you finish SH2 check out my spoilers! I want to be able to discuss things with you dudes.
I've seen some very varied opinions on SH2, but a lot of them aren't as detailed as mine. I tried, not only to scratch the surface, but go deep into the mystery and write something meaningful, tried to think and discover everything... I think Hollow Point and Odin would probably be more interested in that then Lai Lai Hei and DarkViVi, but it's worth a check out.

Also, I've made a summary on SH2 monsters and what they represent. Just like I promised!! When you dudes finish the game, check this out, you might be surprised. There's also a lot of storyline spoilers in this. I thought I'd add in moe of a summary on the storylines, since last time was mostly characters and their pasts and emotions.

    Spoiler:
SH2 is based on a young man who has lost his wife Mary. It's not really a complicated situation, right? His wife is a dead, and he's feeling shitty, like every widow would. At some point, after she died, he has a pyschotic break, in which his mind begins to somewhat "lie" to him. He believes Mary died three years ago from a long suffered fatal illness (one which is never named in the game.) James is confused, but all along knows that he was the one who killed her... he smothered her with a pillow -- it was not in fact three years ago, but more like three weeks ago! James doesn't realise this until deeper into the mystery, and as he uncovers the truth of what his mind had seemingly blocked off, he suffers even moreso.

James enters Silent Hill after receiving a letter from Mary, telling him to meet her in their special place in Silent Hill. James, reluctant at first, wonders how the hell a dead person can send a letter. In any case, he hurries to Silent Hill, in hopes that his beloved wife is still alive.

This is all easy enough, yeah?

What you discover through the game, is all of these secrets to which slot into the puzzle of the game.

One of the most interesting parts of the game, is what things mean. I already spoke in a past post, of how Pyramid Head was James' guilt, and sexual wants from the assault he is seen taking out on "female" monsters.

There are other monsters, though, onces I feel have their own representations...

For example, there is the famous, and most found creature in the game...
    Spoiler:
The walking torso. It looks like it's in a straight-jacket. I personally think this is an object of isolation and struggling to know things.

    Then there are mannequins...

    Spoiler:
They are bascially lower halves of two bodies, stuck on top of one another. Pyramid Head is seen raping these. I think that this is bought on by James' sexual side. Mainly mannequins are naked, the lower halves of them female (there's no penis and that's fricking obvious. )

Of course, we get to an interesting part.

    Spoiler:
The nurses. Covered faces. Mini skirts. Cleavage showing. Who's with me, here? An obvious answer to this one. The nurses, although there for a different reason in SH1, seem to have more meaning in this one. Not only do they fit the hospital scene, but they can also be looked at as another sexual factor in the game. A graphic designer on the SH Konami squad even mentioned something similar to the nurses being a sexual factor.

Personally, I hate the nurses. Not only do they carry powerful weapons that can easy whack you to death, but they're so freakin' hard to kill. Five or more bullets for one of these things? Hmm.

I will check them out once I've finished, I can discuss the first SH though.

Anyway I am working on my website and posted my review from here, when I complete them I am also going to write a review for all of them. Anyway will probably do a complete site dedicated to the Series later on but for now I will just be writing reviews.

    Okay, new question!

Which enemies, on any Silent Hill, did you find to be the worst?

I think for me, it was the nurses. On all SH's. Although I despised the ghosts in SH4, I hated the nurses most. The nurses on SH4 took a new appearance, they were like, massive human thingies in weird outfits, but they were creepy and took so many hits... Then again, I was experimenting going through the game with just the sewer pipe and that was worse!

The worst enemies? well ofcourse..... errr those men/flying things that you can't kill in the sub-way on SH4.

Meeh.. I hate not being able to kill stuff and I almost died down there trying to kill them.
I'm starting a new game soon YAY!

Hahaha, following my advise and starting SH4 again?

Those flying men are ghosts/victims. Horrible little buggers. I hate the noise they make. At least you know when there is one around...but still... It can be pretty frightening...

It would have to either be the Insane Cancers SH3 or the ghosts in SH4. The ghosts are not only a pain in the ass, but they can't be dodged all that easily, either.

The Insane Cancers are just huge and the don't really back up much when you shoot or hit them. On top of that, they've got loads of health and it seems to take them forever to finally go down. Bastards...

The more and more I see SH2, the more and more I want to play it....right freakin now! It's on it's way, so I won't have to wait too much longer.

I haven't played SH3, so I can't comment on that, but the ghosts -are- annoying. Those are probably second on my "shitlist" of enemies.

I know! I felt like that for ages before playing SH2. It really is a wonderful game, though. I know it's lame, but sometimes I sit and anticipate my brothers' bedtime so I can finally get back on the game and play. I think so far I'm enjoying it more then SH4's gameplay. I think I was a bit reluctant of playing SH4 because of the fact it had no radio and it just has this creepy effect to it. It's hard to explain, I suppose.

I feel more "safe" on SH2. And as much as I love the dangerous side, I can't help but bask in a safe enviroment on SH when I see one...Hence loving room 302 before it became infected.

I know what you mean. I'm not sure if you can do it in SH2 or not, but another thing that I REALLY like about SH3 is the fact that you can reload your weapon as you are walking. That's the main key to stay alive!

When something is walking toward you, get some distance between you and the creature and just start firing and slowly walking backwards. Keep walking as you reload and you'll be fine. Just keep that flashlight off. They aren't as easily attracted to you in the complete darkness.

Yeah, I do that a lot -- keep the flashlight off, that is. But only when I'm walking through Silent Hill streets. Mainly because there's hundreds of monsters out on the streets in Dark Silent Hill. Whenever I'm inside a building I keep my light on. Is me me, or has anybody else noticed that nurses still seem to see you with the light off??

Maybe I did something wrong, though.

I thought that, too. I just turned off my light and put quite a bit of distance between the two of us and just stood still as to not make any noise. They still came after me for a few seconds, but ocne everything was dark and quiet, they didn't seem to mind. The Numb Bodies are especially like this. Hell, sometimes if you're quiet, they won't come at you even with the light on.

You know what we need? Cool Silent Hill Wish House cult signatures. I'd make some for us, but they'd look like crap as I don't know how to do much with PS.

Well, I have a few friends who could make us some tags, although I'm not sure if they would... We want them o look as good as possible... I would suggest this idea to Dante and then link them on my photobucket. But I have a feeling he's too busy to do a project like this. When I think "good tags" I automatically think of Dante. Maybe we could make a post in Digi Com. asking for tags.

...Only something small though, I think? Unless you have something else in mind??

I had some old tags that I made. There's a Heather one and an Eileen one, although they aren't too great since I made 'em on my old pc, which had a dodgy enough monitor.

And yes. Although I find some of the dark places a bit tedious to go long periods of time through. On SH2, I'm so far up to the hotel. Lemme tell ya, I was so...

    Spoiler:
Hysterical with laughter when I had to kill Eddie. I killed him with about three or four shots.

Although, admittedly, I'm playing the game on easy mode.

I found it strange when I...
    Spoiler:
Found Angela with the depiction monster of her father...Then I had to kill "him" ...

After that, I was a bit pissed off because...
    Spoiler:
I just saved her frigging life and she showed me no respect whatsoever...

That works for me. I'd just like to get something with Heather in it. It's be sweet.

ALSO! I just got a job at Gamestop today, so nice discounts will be coming my way soon. I really hope that SH5 will be in the near future. I need that damned game!

Perhaps we should post in Digital Community soon then. ^_^

Discounts, haha, luckyyy. Wish I could get a job in a games store... hey, maybe I'll try when my insurance comes through again. SH5 should be out 2007, from what I've heard.
Also, did your SH2 come yet??

EDIT: DV, oh really? Well then, we could, I suppose...

Nah, it hasn't come in just yet. I expect it to arrive tomorrow or Friday. I need to tear into SH3 and get it finished so I can play SH2 right when it arrives. THEN, I can finally go back through and read all of your posts on SH2.

After that...I'm going to try to find a copy of the first SH and complete the series. It's going to be sweet!

Oh, did anyone check out Ebay recently for Silent Hill stuff? They've got alot of movie props on there now. At least when I was there they did. There's some stuff on there that would make wicked collector's items.

Heh, makes me jealous because I don't use eBay. ._.

Yeah, hopefully SH2 will come tomorrow! I need somebody to talk about it with, haha. Apparently, Odin stopped playing after he highlighted a spoiler of mine and got pissed off at it or something. @_@;...

Anyway, we need another topic. Thoughts on Walter Sullivan, anyone?

His name is actually mentioned in Silent Hill
    Spoiler:
    2. It says he murdered a few kids in Silent Hill a few years earlier, which you might know if you've played and finished SH4.

    =D!

Also, I liked Walter. I felt sorry for him, mainly because he was...
    Spoiler:
Abandoned in room 302 as a baby, and was led to believe his mother was the room itself. I thought his determination to restore his "mother" was fascinating. He so wanted to be loved.

I think Walter was a little jealous of Henry's safe and happy life, whereas Walter had a shitty life, in which he was cnsumed in...

    Spoiler:
The cult of Silent Hill after being taken to Wish House to be raised. For those of you who don't know, Wish House is a place just outside of Silent Hill, somewhere within a forest surrounding the area. It's also said that Alessa had been there once or twice during her life.

A lot of people wonder -why- Walter Sullivan targetted...
    Spoiler:
Cynthia Valesqueez. Well, it's because she was horrible to Walter. She and her friends made fun of his homeless state a while before. Walter was homeless, and being laughed at upset him.

The only person who was ever nice to Walter, was Eileen, and that was when she was six years old. She saw him laying in his own filth in the Subway. He was cold, and she gave him her doll. Walter, at the time, was eighteen. Is anybody wondering "but Walter doesn't look THAT much older then Eileen." Well, I shall tell you.

    Spoiler:
All along, in SH4, Walter Sullivan was dead. He killed himself supposedly in the water prison by digging a spoon into his neck, severing some things, and then bleeding and choking to death. He was buried in a grave in Silent Hill, which you will actually see in...
    Spoiler:
Silent Hill 2, when James exits the prison after his scuff with Eddie.

After this, Walters' ghost, which was seeking the ever-restoration of his "mother", awoke, and then went to Silent Hill to dig his body back up. After this, he took it to Room 302 and hid his body inside a wall in the hallway of room 302. (The very same hallway that connects Henry's bedroom and bathrom to his main room and utility room.)

If you read that spoiler, you may be wondering "how did the hole become covered?"

Well, it had been there for a long time, and not even I know this... All I know, is that...

    Spoiler:
Walters' ghost was waiting for Henry in his (Walters') own mind. Henry's "dreams" are actually a seeking view into Walters' mind. Walter had targetted Henry for a few reasons, but the most sensible and feasable reaosn I can think of, what because Henry was living inside of the apartment. He'd been living inside a room that Walter adored, and this made him jealous. He wanted him out of the way, so what perfect way to restore the room by completeing the 21 Sacrements then by killing Henry off?

A lot of this has left numb patches in my mind. However, I will share further points with you.

    Spoiler:
The subway is where Cynthia made fun of Walter, and so he killed her there. The next, was Jasper Gein, inside of Wish House inside, where he burnt to death. Andrew was in the water prison, where Walter had suffered and died. The apartments was Richard, who had been horrible to Walter as a little boy. Walter didn't love, nor care about any of them, so he had decided to kill them. He also killed others before this. Eileen is the 20th target -- the Mother target. And Henry was the 21st Sacrement and also the holder of knowledge and wisdom.

I'm not sure why Eileen was targetted. Maybe Walter had an amount of care and love and wanted to free her from misery of the ever shifting apartment building? =\

...If anyone knows, clear that up for me, please??

    Henry finds Walter in...
    Spoiler:
Hospital world, deforming somekind of hideous body. I find this part in the game one of the most winding and tedious parts in the game. After hospital world ends, you are in Walters' thoughts still and then you go through the levels again with differences, along with Eileen, who you find in hospital world after hauntings almost killed her. You go through this, with Walter often appearing and shooting at you from all around. After this, you get to knock a hole in your own apart wall, fun! Remember what I said earlier about Walters' body being stored behind the hallway? Yep! The very same hole! Henry goes inside and finds Walters' body tied up. At the end of the game, there is a hole in the floor, where Walters' ghost is waiting. You have to make Walter mortal in order to kill him.

What did you guys think of SH4? Do you share my views, or have different ones??

Walter was dead all along? o_O

Hahaha. Thanks DV. As for your spoiler, yeah. I didn't know at first, but...

    Spoiler:
All along, it was Walters' ghost you saw. The Walter you saw running around in Hospital world, Subway World Revisited, Forest World Revisited, Water Prison world revisited, Shopping Complex world revisited and last, but not least Apartment World revisited... was actually memories of Walter (it was seem).

Although a lot of this is personal theory mixed in with knowledge of the series, I hold very strong beleif in what I say, and to me, it makes the puzzle fit. I'd definately love to debate with anybody whom disagrees with me, but a lot of what I'vew said is just complicated versions of the uncovered story.

How did I learn all of this, DV?
Well now, I just listened closely to every storyline and deeply analysed each one until I knew the meaning of every scrap of information. I love the Silent Hill series and I love to know everything about it. A lot of the reason is because of the psychological meanings behind it's content.

Well I am up to the historical Museum now, I was walking around the first part of SH trying to figure out how to get to the park but I reset then figured it out .

Man, I regret chosing easy mood now, the monsters just stand there and it takes two shots to kill them, ammo is everywhere you look though. I like to boot them once I've shot them but its differant from the first SH.

When I first got out of the Hospital I thought it was still in the Alternate mode but after a while I realised they just made it dark. But when its like fog it reminds me of the early morning (Which is kinda scary to me heh) but being up during the night time I am kind of use to it, but it was still a bit eerie.

    Spoiler:
as for the bit about Maria, well going on with the story I would of eventually figured it out but from where I am it kind of makes sense, except the bits with Laura, I am guessing she represents something like perhaps his younger side? I dunno her place in the story yet to say

Also I am going through them in order so it will be a little while before I tackle The Room (I still haven't brought it yet)
