Ah! Autumn is here at last! At least... That's what my boyfriend told me, I could've sworn Autumn began next month!
Anyway, though, it's getting cooler now and it's starting to rain a lot lately... The heat is gone, and I feel a lot better about that and other aspects of my life. The days are also growing shorter, and so, become consumed in the darkness of night...

Erm. Yeah.

I've been so annoyed with the way my poker games have been going. For example, in a tournament I played in yesterday there were only 30 people left and I have AQ unsuited in hand so I raise pre-flop. Oh, I should mention I had $73,000 in chips and the only person who called my raise had $180,000 in chips - he was chip leader on my table. Since he had so much more than I did I knew I wasn't going to really pressure him off a hand unless I put in one big bet which was almost all my stack. Anyway, flop comes up and I have two pair. I bet double the big blind because I want to keep him in and make as much money as possible. He calls. I bet 4 times the big blind. He calls. After the river I bet 8 times the big blind and he re-raises me to a pretty large amount. I feel that he's trying to pressure me off the hand so I call. The cards get shown and he has a straight which he picked up on on the river since he played 9-7 unsuited, two cards which made the inside straight. I lose $50,000 worth of chips because of some shitty luck. ****ing hell. I go out a little later since the blinds start wearing down my stack and I have to go all-in on half a hand. I, unsurprisingly, lose and get knocked out.

Poker is not my favourite card game though. My favourite is Bridge. There's less luck as the luck elements comes in when you get dealt a hand but quite often the spread of cards between the four players is quite even. I love the bidding process and then there's so much skill involved in playing the game which has no luck to it. It feels so good when you win a contract of something like 4 Spades and actually make it all due to skillful play.

I haven't found many people who are willing to play Bridge for money. Even if one point only pays out one pence the amount can get high very quickly. Still, I'd be willing to add in the real money element as I feel it makes games so much more exciting.

I do not have a gambling problem.

Anyways I have just got back france which was great fun! And I met a seriously cute guy,he was french but he knew enough english and I knew enough french wow he's so good looking, you probably don't want to hear how good looking he is for hours on end so I'm gona shut up about how cute he is. But in the fashion of true holiday romances we leftc clutching each others phone numbers and e-mail address! Lots of crying and other things followed but he has already e-mailed me and I've only been back 2 hours!

Why the hell I'm telling you about my love life and why you'd even be slightly interested is beyond me but I'm just so pleased!

Haha, sounds like a romantic French holiday "fling" of sorts! XD

I don't get those "summer love moments" anymore, reason being to the fact I've been with the same guy for almost two years. He's my "all year round" guy.
He's my one and only, to be honest, I couldn't have asked for somebody more suited to me, although it may not seem it. Well I think we're suited anyway, so there.

It's nice, though, huh, nightscare? The whole "early-pre-dating" stage in which you can just relentlessly flirt with the guy and have fun with him. Then when you get together and things are all luffy! And then... err, yeah, I'm sure you get what I'm talking about here... xD

I love my boyfriend, even if people do say we're like an old married couple because we've apparently been together what some seem to think of as a "long time". (This being from my friends. GODDAMN MY FRIENDS!)

Yeah, Xander (my best friend), seemed to think that was funny. Goddamn him. Although I can't help the feeling that he would feel uncomfortable around Dante... It's a shame, really, since I'd like them to talk and get to know each other. It'd be different if hadn't been a true friend to Xander for that long, but we've been friends for years... I really hope they'll get along. Xander and my ex's didn't get along. I hope it's not a pattern of "my best friend doesn't like my lover"...

In any case, I'm rambling now. How is the weather for you guys? It's getting cooler here. We have our hot moments, but I'm glad it's progressing into Autumn now. Autumn is my favourite season for sure. =)

Too much of anything quickly makes me hate it. I played one freeroll two days ago and I just didn't care. I tried out a very aggressive style but then switched to my usual style of play. I stopped paying attention, got moved to a table where I was short stacked and I decided to call someone's all in with AK unsuited. The other guy had pocket fives and I lost. I wasn't too bothered.

However, it raises the issue of how to play a low pocket pair. I wouldn't go all-in. The chance of someone making a pair is high, and while the chance of making trips isn't bad I feel it is still too risky. Instead, a sizeable raise pre-flop and then to see how my pocket pair holds post-flop and whether I've caught trips I'll bet accordingly. I like playing low pocket pairs because so few people expect trips when they hold a high pair. And of course, it's in situations like that which allow you to win a lot of money in no-limit.

In fact, I haven't been doing that much gaming in the past few days. I re-installed UT on my laptop for some "good times" but after playing for over an hour I'm pretty sure the weak graphics card was overheating as my screen started going strange in terms of colours and what was being displayed and then every 10 seconds it would minimize the game. I tried running some other games and the same thing happened. Restarting the computer had no effect so I shut it down and went to sleep. I haven't tried UT yet, but SC is fine.

Still, I spent most of my time watching films. I enjoyed a fine collection of films, including: Infernal Affairs II, Zatoichi, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance and American Psycho. I've seen the last one before but my friends hadn't and it's good enough to warrant seeing it again. The finale of Chan Wook Park's Revenge Trilogy disappointed me somewhat. Like Infernal Affairs II it had better music than the film preceding it, however, nothing else was an improvement. The ending of Sympathy for Lady Vengeance was far too dragged out, and while the director was hoping for creating a powerful and poignant atmosphere at the end, I just stopped caring. After all, the presentation of the protagonist throughout the film was a two-faced bitch who manipulated people and used the excuse that she was unable to find attonement for her sins as the sole cause of her complete attitude change when she's out of prison. And here's where the title comes from: despite all this you are supposed to feel sympathy. I did not.

Here's a new paragraph just for Zatoichi. I know SKI has talked about this film before so that's why I'll go into a bit more detail. Firstly, the action in the film was quite good. The fights were well choreographed and appropriately graphic. Furthermore, Beat Takeshi was very good in the film; he played the role in a suitable restrained fashion. The storyline was weak and the intertwining plots of the different characters was sadly predictable and dull. Zatoichi was shown as a wanderer and more on his background would've been nice. Also, had the character of Zatoichi been developed more, and some other characters less, the film would've benefited. Unfortunately, as a result Zatoichi didn't even seem enigmatic because there was so little explanation as to his motivations, history and indeed his incredible skill. The master ronin bodyguard didn't need flashbacks and the Naruto siblings were a poor excuse to have Zatoichi kill the entire Ginzo clan. I know the stories of Zatoichi is popular in Japan and have been going on for some time, so maybe this is why watching Beat Takeshi's relatively new film has perplexed me and if I had seen the previous films I would understand better.

Feel free to write TL DR to this post because I probably wouldn't read all of it myself.

Urgh, I really need to stop being inactive for such long periods of time.

Anyway, to bring you up to date with my life.

I've just been away on Holiday to Cyprus for a fortnight, it was well good, some cab driver tried to sell us weed and we got lost on a nice little drive and ended up at the turkish border.

Also, today is my 17th Birthday, I got quite a bit of money from relatives and my parents are treating me to a meal with my mates and some driving lessons. I plan to go to town today with my mates to have the said meal and spend some of the said money.

Well, I say this all the time but I plan to be more active now.

Eat many a cake, would you?

Hahaha, you think that's bad? My birthday was a couple of weeks back and I spend like, just less than half of my money on my boyfriend. (Who probably won't appreciate the gesture anyway.) ._.;
Sounds like you got some good stuff, though!

I don't have a significant other to spend my money on (un)fortunately. So I spend it all on myself or going out with my mates (which I do a few times a week)

I'm constantly skint nowadays since I developed a social life, I never used to go out and my work wages built up to like £1000 now I've got £30...

I also ordered South park series 8 yesterday...

...and just ordered Naruto vol 11, Hunter X Hunter vol 10 and Trigun vol 9 like 10 minutes ago...

I've got £50 to last me til september 7th, and I'm going out tomorrow and on Saturday too...

When is an appropriate time to start whoring myself out?

The new Razorlight album is good but not as good as the first. But I rate the first album very highly, amazing album, very few tracks I don't love.

It's gotten quite warm in England over the past few days, which has made it slightly harder to enjoy sleep. So the other night I played poker for four hours straight until 3am. It didn't go too badly, although towards the end my tiredness was affecting a few of my plays.

The variance on pots I win at PacificPoker is seriously frustrating me. Just now, I was playing a tournament and on my table was an extremely aggressive player. So I do what I usually do: I let him steal the blinds and then when I have a strong hand I take his stack. And I did, because the odds greatly favoured me when I went for it. After knocking him out, he got replaced by another very aggressive player. So I did the same. As the blinds went up he managed to steal quite a lot and bluffed some of my chips away and had about 900 chips more than me, so I couldn't knock him out in one go. Anyway, I held AK suited and he bluffs all-in and I call him; taking down his stack to 900. So he goes all-in a few times more and I just bide my time. For some reason, he doesn't go all-in preflop when I had A3 suited, which I played on the BB. The flop hits A-2-J rainbow and I bet the big blind size. He raises me all-in, so I call him. What does he have? Pocket fives. He should get knocked out here. But instead a five comes down on the turn and I lose. I wouldn't be so annoyed if I didn't know the probabilities, but here they are:

Holdem Hi: 990 enumerated boards containing Js Ac 2d
cards %win %lose %tie
As 3s 91.52 8.48 0.00
5d 5h 8.48 91.52 0.00

Still, I had more chips than him and I proceeded to bide my time to knock him out as he builds up by bluffing a lot. I get dealt TT and he goes all-in pre-flop. Again, another chance to take him down so I call. He's got 6-T offsuit and I think I've gotten rid of him this time. Unfortunately, the flop comes down 7-8-9. Here are the odds for me and him this time round:

Holdem Hi: 1712304 enumerated boards
cards %win %lose %tie
Tc 6h 6.69 90.11 3.20
Td Th 90.11 6.69 3.20

Once again, my over 90% chance of winning fails me and he takes half my stack. I just left the tournament.

It's been getting hot again...

Bleesh...

Next month, I'm going away for three days. Either the 9th, 10th and 11th or the 16th, 17th and 18th...

I'm looking forward to it. It's cooler up north -- (obviously where I'm heading)... Annnd. Yeah... Hopefully I won't wake up feeling hot and irritable.

^Way to go against Usagy's wishes and letting this mother****er die out!

Anyway, thankfully, it is cold here now.

Winter is just around the corner, and I have to say, I'm glad. Winter gives me this nice feeling... And reminds me of blankets and drinking hot drinks... And sitting down with a good book, whilst eating really tiny chocolates and stroking the mechanical cat. Pausing to press the button in it's back to make it purr...

Yeah, I'm strange like that.

Anyway, so far, Christmas shopping is going well. Sister and brother are done, as well as father (didn't want to, for bollocks sake).

I'm buying my mummy her presents this weekend, and I have Dante to buy for as well.

I have money though, so I'm happy that I can afford some nice things.

I kept my wish list rather small for the past two or three years. I figure getting older doesn't really warrant me to ask for gifts, so this year I asked for the Silent Hill DVD and have that be that.

I now have a lot of plans for the coming year!

In January, I take my mother out for her birthday. On January 5th, I send off the 2nd anniversary gift to my boyfriend.
On Jan 15th, I go to hospital.
After that there iwll be vast job searching.

February won't be the best month, as it is DEFINATELY a black month for me.

But March will be good. Visits to the boyfriend and some snuggling up will definately be nice!!

Wow, okay, so this thread has died multiple times.

Anyways, lets see...

I'm not even going anywhere... I may be going to see somebody at the other side of the country later this year, although I'm not sure if that's going to happen yet... Hmm!

I'd like to get a job this summer, but um. I haven't got one. Because I'm lazy and sit at my desk most of the time. Yay!

This thread is a kind of "free-for-all-Europeans" ...

So, whereabouts in England do you live? I live in Sourthern-East England, in the massive county of Surrey. It's an okay area... it's one of the most expensive counties of the country, but somehow the councel seem to let some of the scum filter through!

(By that I mean drunken rapists, muggers and the like.)

Wow, I wish I could go to Japan.

Perhaps someday I will stow away in your suitcase. Bwahaha.

I want to go to one of Konami's head buildings and threaten them with raping by a spiky dildo if they don't make at least three more Silent Hill games.

Although being Japanese, they'd likely enjoy it. -_-;

It's July, it's raining, it's Scotland. Which means I'm totally in Europe.

I think I posted in here a few years ago...or something. I hope it's okay to return. I've seen this thread sink and jump and sink and jump lots.

I have a question, eurotrash. I would like to go to a city in Belgium, France, or Holland to sulk for a week, buy cheap cigs, and meet new folks. Any ideas?

Also, holiday plans? Going away from our wee place, or to a different bit of it, or....staying stuck in the same hole in the map?

^Well, Usagi always seems stoned and/or drunk, maybe Holland is the place to go!

On a serious note, though, this year hasn't been bad, but family wise it's not been great.

Luckily I have a weeks' holiday come Monday. Thank **** I get to spend it with somebody I find interesting and funny...and who doesn't yell because something petty happened.

Some time with yer man, eh? Awwwwwww! Perhaps that was OTT. But I'm pleased for you, y'know. Andrew seems like a cool person.

Meanwhile, my errant beau is in Florida. No word in 5 days. He'll be clinging onto the sun for dear life, I can smell his burning from here.

Leaving this house in exactly 2 months today. Can't wait. This is not a home - it's a co-habitation of two people who're getting to know one another, two who've known each other in and out for 16 years and are fine with that, and one person who is scared of, distrusts and pities one other. Television, and ghosts of stoned men.

Holland it is! I'm thinking Valkenburg, or Amsterdam. Now then. To rob a bank. Who wants to help?

The boy's fine, he checked in. Was busy flying the flag, eating hot dogs, watching baseball...you know the drill, haha.

And I've got his Floridean aunt in on the bank robbery. Though she might not be up for the latter bit...
