I'll be sure to notify you. But as I said, however long it takes you to present your ideas in a clear manner of speaking. If you've ever typed essays for school or whatever grade/college you're in, type like that all the time. Please.
I may come up with a different series of questions for you, and if I can understand your answers without having to ask you what you mean, I may let you in.
Give it about two weeks or so.
And with that; please refrain from posting here. If you have any suggestions/ideas at all, feel free to PM them to me or Fate and we'll post them here for you.
This is what Silver said:
What if English is not the person's first lanuage? They perhaps are thinking what they are trying to say and does not say it correctly.
One last thing, are my my words translated correctly or do I need to pinch this small baby?
---
That's a good point. Maybe there could be an exception to the rule. Even though, the person has to do his or her best. ^^; I'm not sure if I know any members who know more than one language to be the official TFF translator.
haha nah, I don't think we will be discriminating against those who have picked up English as a second+ language. Look at Fishie for example... *DUH-DUM-CHISH* And from what I have seen so far, your spanish isn't too bad. This post is a little more broken in english then the first one but from what I'm translating I can get the general picture.
But as far as the language barrier is concerned, this forum is based off in north america, and like I told Silver, if one is going to join a forum in North America, then they need to understand how to use the language. It's no different than anywhere else.
If a person were to register on this forum, you would think that their English would be somewhat decent, right? I mean, they have to understand the rules to not get banned. And they also have to now it well enough to post comprehensible things. If their English is *terrible*, then they probably wouldn't have signed up in the first place. I don't think we have anything to worry about. Even the people who say that they are still learning English have proven to have a good understanding of it.
Basically I'm saying there might be those who've joined who speak English as a second language. I worry that they might actually be able to contribute if they join our little club here, but mightn't be able to get past the doorman if their English isn't so good even if they have a strong grasp of what they mean. We certainly mightn't in the one case.
Unless someone's deliberately being a little turd, where's the harm in including them in the chance they do have something relevant to add to a little discussion/issue/whatever?
As far as language is concerned it's really nothing to be worried about in an extent. As I know like what you stated Fate many people speaks a different language but is decent enough to speak english like we are right now. As far as I'm seeing that in a different shoe I should say, for someone who speaks a different language, but does not know english, they can't get pass the registration section in the first place, and I doubt there would be someone standing right behind him/her reading every single word to the person.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I'm not going to answer that out of the sake of not embarrassing you. Be thankful I"m going to be in a happier state in ~24 hours.
And no, thats not true at all. People from all over the world register here, and since the vB forums has a very uniform set of way to registering, I'm sure people can guess-and-check with trial and error. It's not people that have foreign languages I'm worried about, its more with people not knowing how to express themselves in a higher level of english type of deal that I'm having concerns with. I've noticed that a lot of people, even some that are members in this club, have troubles expressing themselves that makes sense on the internet. In this part of the forum, knowing how to post properly is very crucial, so for those that don't know how to post, then please read this wonderful work to get a better understanding. If this doesn't help, then PM someone from this thread. We're all here to help each other, so we can work shit out.
What the hell are you talking about? English is my first language. Along with learning some Spanish and some French along the way foo'. :DQuote:

However, I do think that anyone who joins this forum has somewhat of an understanding of the English language. It may not be perfect like the way some of us are fluent with it, but as long we're able to get an understanding of what they're trying to say then I could care less about their grammar.
Kinda like in RL where you see some hot Brazilian chick. She tries to speak some English to you but she can't pronounce most of the words for shit. But she sounds so hot that it really doesn't matter. She could talk about anything stupid and it wouldn't matter. ;!
Objection!
I think we forgot something. I just noticed it by looking over some certain threads. XD
Over-ruled!
That generator is a damn fun way to write custom tidbits I must say.
Anyways I refer to every so often seeing a member who's obviously managed to sign up due to the fact they're posting who seems to know what they're on about but hasn't grasped typed English well enough to get their point across all the time. Keeping a doorman of sorts between them and expressing their ideas here is pretty lame IMHO.
Hell, I've worked as a doorman on occasion and I'd vote Green before I stopped someone from joining in for a poorer English knowledge alone.
Do you care about TFF?
Of course I do! I stay on this website 24/7!
Are you willing to to group together with the fellow members and attempt to make this a better place?
Yes
Off the top of your head name one or two things you would like to see improved.
Hmm..Activity,More People, and maybe More Questions.Cuz I like to answer people's problems and questions about a game.
Why do you want to be apart of this group?
Because I ♥ this site and I want to help to improve it,in as many ways as I can. :)
I'm sorry, please answer the new question format. The third question is out dated, and there is a fifth question.
- Do you care about TFF?
- Are you willing to group together with fellow members and attempt to make this a better place?
- What are your top 5 things that TFF can have/do to improve its activity?
- Why do you want to be a part of this group?
- Do you have previous forum experience?
And also, it has been stated that activity is not a viable answer.
PS: MILK has been removed due to inactivity. If you wish to reapply, please wait a week. IceColdMilk is in danger of being removed.
Do you care about TFF?
Absolutly! This is like my second home!
Are you willing to group together with fellow members and attempt to make this a better place?
Like I said before, this is like my second home and I would do anything to make it better.
What are your top 5 things that TFF can have/do to improve its activity?
Someone commented on this before but I would like to see older members have special privileges, we could use our gil to extend our profiles(random i know), have a monthly raffle and when you join this forum the could be a pop-up that explains how to use this forum.
Why do you want to be a part of this group?
To help this forum to become the best out there.
Do you have previous forum experience?
No, this is my first forum, but I'm willing to learn from other experienced members who are willing to help me.
If you're willing to learn from other experienced members, perhaps the adoption thread would be more suitable for you.
I just.. have to stop being lazy and make it, so that new members can be adopted and learn more about forums and stuff.
Ya know, this thought just kinda came to me, but...
Why not have all of the newer people that want to apply here, the ones that have the join dates of June/July 09 along with like 2 posts, why not have them make a requirement of going through the adoption process sucessfully before being allowed to join? It will be a test not only for the new members but for the volunteers and the system as well to see how it all works out.
Thoughts?
[/genius streak]
I like the idea but it would depend on the adoptee him/herself. The reason why I'm saying this is because there are people who are rather much independant and rather 'explore' around in the forums than having someone as a guide. It would be rather better if we ask the person if they wish to go through the adoption process and the agreement relationship between an adopter and the adoptee.
Of course. No one can be forced into adoption. This proposal sounds like a dry run; quickly getting a few adopters and willing adoptees together to test if it's going to work. No point in developing a lasting framework (complete with signature banners like yours) if its found that it doesn't work.
I like the idea. It would certainly keep the fresh fish we've seen lately out of this club for a while. Plus, as Alf stated too, it could be a great test for the adoption system.
If only our dear Mistress would get off her well shaped ass and start making that thread.
i wouldn't mind that idea. It's a chance to be mentored by experienced members and learn all about the forum.
That was uncalled for. >>;;
IF we can all get the idea of the Adoption thing CLEAR, then she can. Unfortunatly, there are a few other things that need to be taken care of, and need to be thought out properly before the thread is made. Like... this Council for instance (no offence to Kilala, love you) should have had more serious thinking through before the thread was made.
The idea of putting something together is simple, but when you think long and hard on it, more possible problems come into light. We need to make sure this idea is as flawless as possible before we start making threads.
So give Sheena a break, and let her do her job.
Hi all! Wow, I certainly need to catch up...
Still no internet at my place - this is just a sneak peek I'm allowed now at my mums work place.
It's said I will have the net in a week. So fingers crossed! Umm may I be a pain and ask either Mistress Sheena or Fate to Message me or PM me an update from here? I last saw this place at 70 posts... but of course when I have the time I will be reading though it all.
*Salutes* Can't wait to step back in in my Leader suit ^~
Keep up the the good work and dedication <3
So, is this club finally dead yet?
As far as I know, the adopt a noob thread is not being worked on, unless Sheena is working on it, but if she was then she would of posted here and said something. There haven't been any new discussions over ideas, no one is really being active... Can't say that I'm not suprised, but I'm not suprised lol. Maybe next time people will actually think before they post.
I did say something. Why say something again and repeat what I said before?
But honestly? I know I said that I was tired of 'all talk and no action', but... I honestly cbf'd to make the adoption thread.
The shit didn't work last time, it's not going to work this time. If someone else wants to make it, go ahead.
And yes, Rocky, as far as ideas go, the club is dead. We had the main five that we talked about over and over, and once those ideas were finished, no one had anything new to bring to the table.
Go figure, huh?
PS: The only thing I care about is the activity of the RP forums. If those became more active again, then I'd have no issues with TFF whatsoever.
You don't have to agree with everything Rocky says just because he says it, Sheena.
The adoption idea is not "finished" because you never started it. If you "cbf'd" to do it, maybe you shouldn't have taken on the assignment in the first place. Try giving it to someone who will actually get it done. Or better yet, Meier as the Member Business mod.
You're the one who wanted to do one idea at a time. And then didn't get the idea we were working on moving. I hold you responsible for killing the momentum of this thread, and hold you responsible for getting it going again. You're one of the club leaders, get it together.
