The TFF Council

I'm not agreeing with everything he says just because he says it, thank you very much.
Initially, all I cared about was the RP forums. Just because he happened to say something similar to an opinion of mine, doesn't make me some sort of yes man. All I did was confirm what he said.

And admit it. It's not my fault that new ideas have not come in.

And you know what? I hold you responsible for not doing that MSN member thread thing. You said you were going to do it, but you never did a thing. So I'm not the only one at fault here. (Maybe I'm thinking you said you'd do something else, but I assume that implied the MSN thing. So if I'm wrong, I apologize...)

And yes, I did take on the task for adoption, but I overworked myself and don't feel like doing it anymore.

If Meier wants to do it, he can do it.

I didn't kill jack crap. The members did. It wouldn't make a difference even if I made the adoption thread.

This thread still wouldn't get new ideas to discuss. It'd still be dead. So don't take out the inactivity on me.

Not all of our ideas will be able to work. I can see the MSN Member Thread and Member of the Month as something we can actually finish.

K, I'm not sure what we were all planning to do with the member of the month topic exactly, but if we were still doing the interview thing with the member of the month, I'd like to do the interview or something. I already know of a good format for it and stuff, so unless someone else wants it, I'll call being in charge of Member of the Month! :)

I think one of the biggest issues here is easy enough to amend. The problem itself is the lack of finality with each project. Taking a page from Kilala, we should probably have a vote at the end of each discussion to decide what we're going to do with it. I'd also recommend a mass PM to notify those who can vote too. This thread needs a nice wake up kick.

As for ideas... I think we have quite a backlog. When we actually run out, THEN we should really begin to worry. :)

I am still liking the idea of a social group to discuss current topics, could also be used for the voting on topics at hand. That way every idea has it's own thread and doesn't get lost in the rift of time.

Any time a vote comes to be a simple notification in this club could be enough to tell people to check out the SG and cast a vote. That way there is no secracy also.

But this idea has been put on the back burner until Kilala comes back so she can decide if it is up to par for the club.

Actual discussions on current topics could still be carried on in this thread also so that it is visible to the main forum that we are still currently working on issues.

Meier, I'm not sure I'd be for the full-on discussion of topics within a social group since it seems a bit too secretive (and the text limit would be a pain), but using it for voting would be awesome. I was actually worried that people who weren't members would attempt to rig it. This basically solves everything and keeps it orderly. I guess the only problem would be anonymity if some people are shy.

But really, there isn't much clause for hesitation. Even if it's only until Kilala returns (at which point she can decide for herself), a social group should really be setup for voting. It's very practical.

Ooh, seems I struck a nerve. Insecurity sparks activity once again. ;)

The MSN thread? I'll do that, but there was some poll going on, and then there were several opinions, and then all of a sudden it was resolved, but not really. Send me a PM with information on what's been decided. Or Az can do it and notify me (or whoever) when he wants it stickied. Did we want it in GC or Member Business? With the Member Profile thread in the first post, like an index, or as a separate thread?

Okay so I"m back. Clearly I have alot to go through... and as Mistress Sheena has told me it's getting a tad chaotic. The first thing to remember it the purpose of this Group. And that is to help make TFF active.
Tomorrow I will be going through this entire thread. Combing through it so to speak.

For discussion on topics I"m going to make an invisionfree forum (if they're still there haha...). This will allow nice display of topics. Ease of communication. Weekly Updates. Polls. etc. etc.

Sheena means that there is no need for our forum to be all razzle-dazzle and stuff. Also, the third answer was also not an answer. "Can't think of any other ideas" is not an answer. P.S. Laura, the rules have changed a bit while you were away. You should see which ones you like and which ones you want to change around.

Hey Outdoor, sorry if it sounds harsh but a reapplication is necessary here... Assuming you want to still me involved with our commitee ^^.

Reason being, the top five things to help TFF must be complete and plausible! We're not rejecting you, just need a more in depth form from you! The last thing we want here is a club filled to the brim with members and then no one participates.

When you think you're able to come up with a full form, please do repost and we will give you our decision. As long as you follow the rules you're pretty much golden <3

1. Advertising: Advertising this site would maybe give us some new member's.
2. Respect: It would be nice for everyone to get along and just... Be nice to eachother! Everyone should just be kind, and tell them nicly that there idea might not work like: "I think this forum should have a avatar maker (I have no idea XD)" You could say: "Im sorry Randomperson, that might not work. It will take to long. Try and think of something else."
3. No fighting: Like respect, there should be no fighting at all! Like: "Randomperson, your such an idiot. Your idea is stupid!" Which i think that's called flaming XD
4. No idea left to die: Like no kid left behind, we should look at the good's, and bad's about every idea like: "Ok, if we make this Avatar maker, they can make their own avatar without using anything fancy. But on the other hand... It would take to long."

So, Kilala and I have read through and discussed your application together this time.

Idea #1 - I'll give you this, but we can't do anything about it aside from word of mouth, putting it in our sigs of other forums. Besides, TFF gets a huge amount of traffic as it is, so I doubt this is an issue.

#2-3 - These are part of the TFF Rules as a whole, and honestly will not help improve the activity of the forum. Plus, do TFFers really fight all that often? No. Do we flame each other all the time? No. So these are moot and invalid.

#4 - Basically you want to support other ideas in the Council. This will not help TFF overall, just the club. The Council is for TFF, not the club. So this is invalid as well.

#5 - When someone joins, they get an automatic PM from Fuzz, the creator, that includes links to the Member Business forum and the rules. So your idea is already implemented to begin with. Moot.


So with that, we've decided to....

Give you a trial run. We commend you for sticking to your guns and wanting to join so badly.

Here are your stipulations, and I'm going to be rather blunt about them:
a. If you respond well and are helpful, we'll keep you on board permanently.
b. If your ideas suck, you're gone.

As Sheena said we went through the application together and it's a joint decision. We know you really want to be a part of this Club, so by offering the trial run I feel we're being reasonable.

We believe that everyone has something to offer, but what we need to do is ensure that it is taken seriously.

The TFF Council isn't a popularity thread, or a place to boost your post count... We're here to contribute ideas to help the forum. To make it a better/more active place. To do this we need 'doable' ideas. What we need is members who are dedicated and able to get their thoughts across in an effective manner. One of the ways we do this is through the application form.

Meier, are you getting the Adopt A Noob threads up? No rush, just making sure that we've got people working on it. Let me know if you need any help with it. I'm still here for a week so it's all good.

What exactly would you like us to write out? Should we just write some generic things like what is in the TFF Member Profile, or are there some other specifics that you had in mind?

Also how long would the adoption process last? Just until the adoptee gets sick of being adopted, or would there be some sort of time frame? I don't think this has been discussed and I was kind of wondering. I joined TFF when adoptions were pretty much ending and I don't remember how it used to work.

I joined the new forum, but do we really need it? I think it would be a lot better to discuss everything at TFF because then other people who don't belong to the club would be able to see what is being discussed and help even if they don't belong to the club. We've been saying that people can still help even if they aren't in the club, but wouldn't that be kind of hard if they don't even know what is being discussed? Also for voting and stuff would that then be posted at TFF, or would only people who belonged to this new forum be able to vote? I think that the voting should be done here so that everyone would get a say in the changes that are being made.

Also what topic are we supposed to be discussing right now? It seems that the topics that we initially brought up have been pretty well resolved except for the member recognition. They just need to be implemented... Were there any more topics that we were going to bring up or are we going to continue discussing member recognition and come up with more ideas / implement the ideas that have already been mentioned like the interview thing?

I see your point, but at the same time, a lot of people get really busy and can't read through ten or so pages of posts because they just don't have the time at that moment. The forum makes it a lot easier to split up all of these different ideas into individual threads and gives people less block reading and more leanacy to read what they're interested in helping out with.

We certainly need a 'cleaner' and more efficient way to present ideas here at the Council. To do so in one single thread is impossible. It is presenting us with mess and not allowing us to efficiently resolve issues.

No I do not like taking this out of TFF's domain. But we can't make a new thread for each issue as it goes against the rules. The only way would be to have a sub forum for the Council here but that is not exactly very convenient. And then other clubs would demand it and it would cause more trouble for the staff.
By the side forum we can effectively vote and manage the issues. Updates will be put here as well as general input.

Of course there are flaws, but together we can iron them out.

Member recognition is done. We're doing member of the month. Rocky is handling it.
Yes, we need the forum. Have you not noticed how cluttered and confusing this massive thread is?
We need the forum to keep ideas neat and clean and actually be able to resolve/implement them, and the forum is mostly there for polls to vote on. It's not like we're moving from TFF to that forum. It's just going to be used to vote on ideas and stuff.

We can't do that here at TFF. And if anyone is in the council, why would they not join the forum? That's just silly. o_O;

I think it could be better if there was just a sub forum here for the club. I know that this thread has been really cluttered, but not everyone at TFF belongs to this club and would join the other forum. I thought this club was mainly going to be for the general TFF users to read, contribute ideas for us to discuss and vote, not just for the select few members who belong to this club to vote and contribute ideas. If that was the case this all could have been in the Shinra forum to begin with. Also about other clubs demanding a sub forum is ridiculous seeing as there are only a few active clubs and they are really not all that active. They could even create a social group if they wanted. I think it would be easily possible to do this all at TFF if we had a sub forum made here for the club. If there is a TFF Family sub forum, there could certainly be a TFF Council sub forum.

Also about the voting, I thought that voting was going to be done by all of TFF, not just this club. I think it would be much better to have voting done here because then all of TFF can participate. I don't see how that wouldn't be able to work.

Then if we are done discussing all the topics that were originally brought up, what is the next topic that we are going to discuss? It seems that we have been at a standstill for awhile now.

Hmm... You have a point about the member recognition. Rocky did ask that now that I look back on it.

And also, I'm not really sure about the forum thing. A subforum would be ideal, and even though the other clubs aren't that many or are that active, it would still be like "Oh, this club got something. We want it too."

It doesn't really matter if the others are active or not. They'll have that mindset. Yeah, there's usergroups, but the posts there are severely limited compared to regular posts.

But honestly, I guess I'll see what I can do about it.

And as far as the "Whole TFF Population voting" is concerned, the voting has and always was going to be done by the members of the council. At least, that was my presumption.

It would be neat to have the rest of the population participate in the polls to see what ideas they would prefer.

But really, if we're going to make a subforum, why not just change Shinra forum into the Council forum instead?

Chez, yes I am still working on this, it is a slow moving process but I promise it will be worth it in the long run.

Treize, I am still working on the details as to how someone will graduate from being an adopte. I honestly think it should be confined to either
A: The adpotee and the adopter both come to an agreance
B: The Adoptee goes MIA for stents of time
C: The adoptee no longer wants a mentor

But in reality it is either up to the adoptee or the adopter on how long one would stay an adoptee. The key word that I am looking at is volentary though.

This is probably one of the main reasons I have taken my time with this, I want it to be done right.

Toph, if we changed Shinra over to TFF council would the members that are not a part of the council but do have access to shinra still have access to that sub forum?

For what I am wanting from the adopters is just a brief Bio on who you are some of your interests. The rest of the nity grity details can be left out.

Ah.. I had not thought of that. Yes, they would still have access. So I guess the Council would need its own subforum after all.

Though honestly I doubt we would be allowed to have one. I can hear Cesar's reason now. "If you guys get one, all the other clubs/social groups would want one as well."

...But then again, the TFF RPG World got one... >_>

What's the problem with using the usergroup thingies for discussion? It seems to me like it would be easier and just as organized to get discussion for new ideas going, as everything would be organized in its own subthread or whatever you would call it. I don't really see the need for a whole entire extra forum, but its all up to you guys.

For the time being, I think it would be best to put aside where discussion should take place and just go with Kilala's forum. She took the time to put it together, after all. The option isn't without its hassles, but the others also have immediate obstacles. If the board doesn't work out we can always switch gears and use something else. :)

We should pick the next idea and come to an understanding about ideas left hanging, such as member recognition and the MSN thing.

If we decide to make a social group for TFFC or use the forum Kilala made for discussing current ideas, this thread would be useless unless we are now using it as a registration and brainstorming thread.

As for the MSN thread, I'm working on it right now and updated the list Kilala made before with recent posts. Some members gave out yahoo and aim addresses along with their MSN address, so I decided to put everything together and make the thread include all IMs. Do we want this under General Chat or Member Businesses ? (Ocean asked this previously)
