Besides the fact that I got my own laptop now, and it has an actual keypad.. AMAZING, and its insanely fast for such a little machine. I'm installing FFXI on it aswell (like you didnt see that coming? lmao) and I'll be putting a few other titles on but I'll have to watch the space I use up.. 60GB aint much for what I use, heh.. the partition on THIS computer for my games its 61.4GB (was supposed to be 62, but eh, close enough) and I only got 11.3 GB free.

Lots of writing, and much less gaming as of late. Put up the prologue for the novel that I've finally started. I feel somewhat accomplished. Not a bad feeling, actually.

SumerSabin2005 started up an FFIIj thread over in its respective forum... and so that peaked my interest in it again, despite the fact that it's my least favorite (wouldn't that make it my most hated? Whatever) of the NES titles. Despite that, I've decided to pick it back up anyway. Maybe I'll share screens like I did while I was on that FFIIIj binge?

Indeed, we do need a topic, but seeing as how my gaming life is almost non existant at the moment, I'm going to pass that torch to another. I have no clue what happened to playing FF6, but as soon as I had to go to that floating island, all I could think was, "I don't feel like it today, I'll do it some other day." And once I get in that mood, it'll be a bit before I get out, heh. Actually, for some reason, I have an urge for FF1...no clue why.

Of course, this will run tandem with Dawezy's Sonic/Mario debate, so I'll start there.

SONIC. I may be a Nintendo fanatic until the day I die, but I'll be damned if Mario wins this one. Let's face it. Mario is easily one of the greatest platformers around, and Super Mario 64 is one of the greatest three-dimensional platformers of all time. But he's slow. He's slow, fat, and jumps a lot. That just doesn't cut it.

Sonic games were always leagues more difficult than Mario games. I may have never legitimately owned a Sega console, but I had plenty of friends who did, and they were more than willing to let me play. Sonic & Knuckles is probably my favorite.

Of course, Sonic loses hardcore when entering three dimensions. The concept didn't work as well. But hey, this is the Old Skool Cult of Kefka, bitches. That shit don't count.



Now, my idea. We need a new Cult avatar. One for all of us to use. And we need a target for flaming. One we can all agree on. And we need characters. And a script. Loyal Cultists only, please.

Heh, Mario vs Sonic. Yeah, much of a Nintendo fan as I am, I gotta give this one to Sonic too. Though the Sonic games moved a bit too quick for me back then, I have to admit that they are much harder to play through, and can still even now give me a severe case of frustration on occasion. Fave character though....probably more Mario than Sonic. Sonic did kick ass in the cartoons though. ^^

Ahh the memories, I left all my TFF material back at home on main comp so I'll look forward to viewing them all again.. this 56k serves no justice >.o damn you all for cursing me like this XD. I'd like to touch on my topic though;

Sonic had all the good shit (ofcourse this'll be biased, I was raised on SEGA).. insane speed, wide variety of levels to shoot through, mode 7 special stages for Emeralds, Super Sonic, Hyper Sonic. All these coming from the Genesis Sonic titles, the fun was further enhanced by the 2 player mode and the S&K Cart which had the ability to attach other Sonic titles ontop and be able to select Knuckles aswell as the usual cast of characters.

Wasnt asmany Sonic titles released in comparison to Mario's array of delights, but, Sonic certainly held his own in the Console market wars between the 2 giant companies.

To be honest, I really got nothing to say about Mario I've hardly touched Super Mario World let alone any other titles on the actual consoles themselves. I do remember kicking some major ass on the NES Mario Brothers (legitemate Console play, when I was about 7 or 8, lmao) I always found that little secret passage along the top of the screen to sneak my way through to the end of the level. woot! but his abilities and gameplay in general put me off (SNES titles more-so)... it just, did. lol

Ultros? Nah, Ultros was too cool for that. I'd say let's pick someone on TFF and assign them a sprite, but that's really pushing the flame envelope. But yes, we need something for all of us to beat the shit out of. Relentlessly. At the end of the animation.

Or maybe the beginning? I dunno. I've got about thirty ideas right now.
