    Your Inner Child

It occurred to me the other day that certain things just bring out the inner child inside of you - or me at least ;3. It could be something as simple as a food product, an old movie, a past favourite book etc…
So I was wondering what about the other members at TFF. What conjures up your Inner Child?

I’ll give some examples, incase you’re wondering what on Earth I’m on about :3.

    Umm... let me see…
Lucky Charms Cereal! When I was a wee lass (XD Sorry x3 Probably spelt it wrong an all too <_<) it used to be my favourite Breakfast treat. I’d fish out all the Marshmallows and leave the healthy stuff o.o. Still – every time I see a box is brings back memories and I feel inclined to buy some! And to this very day I fish out the marshmallows only…

Pingu! Haha, it’s very immature I know, but he was a past favourite of mine. And even today I could watch it and still laugh like a child…

Another thing that does bring out my Inner Child is a cute cuddly toy. I’m nearly 20, but still if you gave me a cute animal toy I’d go crazy over it… <_< *Sighes *

Oh yeah! Things like high quality angel wings. I know it sounds retarded... but I had always wanted a pair when I was ickle... and now I have them! Real feathers an all xD. They're like Ultimecia Black Wings... Love 'em <3.

    Anyway! What about you? D=

    Following the path for truth...

    and ending the dream.

This is quite strange timing, but last night my boyfriend and I compared nostalgia on Youtube. For him it was Button Moon and Jazz Jackrabbit. For me, Dogtanian and Descent. The weird shit you watch as a kid...turns out a cartoon I really liked, about a tiger called Sinbad who has to fight a revolution (yes, I watched political cartoons as a 3 year old, it would seem) is the most thinly-veiled Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam propaganda I have ever come across. And my parents let me watch it. Huh.

Cartoons I watched after age 5 just made me feel weird though. We had two videotapes we watched over and over - Gummi Bears and, though it seemed perfectly normal at the time, Queen of the Amazon. I blame the latter for my extreme aversion to leeches. Gummi Bears, in retrospect, was ****ed up. Like really bad. I am shuddering.

I think my inner child is dead though. I don't remember Dogtanian's little girlfriend looking quite so stoned, though I do remember him cutting the apple up. I suppose there's no way to preserve the purity of it unless you avoid very old, very nostalgic material altogether. What's that rule called? I know it has a name. Where you change the substance itself purely by observing it.

Pingu was also a favourite of mine as well as Johnson and Friends, Gumby any of those old kids shows well they don't actually bring out my inner child but i do ponder on my child hood when i see these things in fact i bought the original transformers anime not long ago hehe and its stuff like that that makes me giggle like a little school girl.

Books usually have the best affect on me i walk through the library at work and see all the books that were read to me or that i read myself in pre school and lowewr years takes me back and it is really good to see that those books are still read so many years later.

But of course just ask my wife and she will say that my inner child is not on the inside at all, i act like a kid all the time and tend to be embarrassing sometimes but i love to do it for my kids and until they grow up and tell me to stop i think i will always be like that, but of course i do take things seriously when it is the right time to do so.

My "Inner-Child" barely exists. Or at least, it was all grown up by the time I discovered it.

But trying to keep with the discussion... I really really like Jelly Belly Jelly Beans. That's basically it. Video Games and Anime are another example, I suppose.

Oh, and I like looking up at stars, dancing in the rain and long walks on the beach...

Pokemon: I grew up with it ever since I got Red Version for the Gameboy. After that, I started collecting the cards, toys, and watching the television show. I also continued collecting the games up to this point, which is Pokemon Platinum. Every kid was into it back then! It was fun pretending to be a Pokemon and battling each other.

Old Cartoons from Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon: x_x; Too much to list, but it's easy to find out if you just google it. Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon was in its prime years before they started having shows with actual people. Argh, I sat here for 10 mins trying to word that right. Real shows? Live shows? Whatever...

I watched Rocko's Modern Life with my best friend a week before she left for vacation and we could not believe how many sexual innuendos are in it. Haha. We didn't realize them when we were kids! It's no wonder our parents didn't like us watching it.

Hmm..pop rocks. I loove pop rocks since i was a kid.
And well, I may be grown up and live on my own now, but the sheets on my bed are BRIGHT PINK. I love it and it does make me happy for some reason(nothing related to sharing a bed..perv!). Bright Pink anything, really will make me smile.
Scrapbooking. A favorite pastime and no, I didn't do it too much as a kid, but it really lets my creative juices flow. That's what takes me back. And there aren't to many rules. I can do whatever I want scrapbooking. Thats what I love about it so much.

I am one with my inner child.
I eat tons of junkfood, believe the SNES is the greatest console ever made (but still treasure my Sega and Atari) and don't listen to much music made after the 80s/90s.
Speaking of the Atari, it's a big nostalgia trip for me and when I start playing it for a long period of time I notice nothing feels as right for playing videogames as an Atari joystick.

I'm also a sucker for 2D platformers and actually prefer them to 3D platformers, especially when they have well designed challenging levels and cute sprite graphics.

I still love to turn on NES, SNES or GB and play some old games from my childhood. Nothing better brings my inner child as Contra, Zelda and Megaman games. I still love this games more than this new ones. Well I just can't describe the felling when I see some old cartoon or anime that I watched as a child.
Well I haven't changed when it comes to anime I probably watch them more now than when I was a child. I still have some old digimon and pokemon cards, I simply cant throw them away or give them to some brat. I'm to attached to them.

Any cartoons that happened to be on toonami, more specifically pre-Dragonball Z era. That would count in stuff like Sailor Moon (hellz yeah I watched this show back in the day get off me Sailor Mars was a fox), Swat Cats, Voltron, Thundercats, and a few others I forgot. I'll also count in Gundam Wing as well, though that was more in my 'growing up' nostalgic phase so it's not really as kiddy as the first few.

Besides TV, any Dragon Quest game really brings me back into my Ritalin Rocky phase, where I can't get my fingers unglued from the game boy as I'm grinding for hours at a time with no breaks. So like Dragon Warriors 1-3, Dragon Warrior Monsters 1&2, then later on when the dejap patch came out, DQ5 and DQ6. While everyone was playing their FFX, I was in double time mode playing that and Dragon Warrior 7 on my PS2 back in the day, lol. I still don't know how I survived to this day.

Then again this one is kind of on the outs with me if she doesn't straighten up and fly right so that means I will be back in it for the thrill of the kill. Got some in the reserves. Even got a rePETEr (<---- like that ay? AYYYYY?) on the back burner.
