My family is know for being alive beyond the year 2000.
So, what are your family traits? Are they habitual jokers? Do they hold grudges? Are they descended from Apes? Have any of them done anything interesting?
I'm sure I've mentioned my ma's family consists of extremely short Minnesota-bred, Swedish/French foghorns. They are famous for being extremely fertile ever since a rowdy guy who had a lot of brothers met a girl with a lot of quiet sisters. At least it's both genders now. They have also been known to drink the Koolaid.
My father's Tibetan family is known for few children, many years apart, for strong, tall, sharp-tongued, violent women with endurance, and humorous, easy-going men who spend much of their time socializing, but have been known to fight well when seriously threatened.
So, what's your family known for?

Ridiculously high alcohol tolerance. Like, dangerously tolerant. However that comes coupled with raging alcoholism, so I've not tested to see if it's genetics or if my ancestors just had a lot of practice. The men in my family are known for being painfully skinny, but confusingly durable or strong, and the women all look exactly alike on my dad's side, including my sister.
As for achievements, the family on my mother's side was one of the first families to move into the town I live in, and my great grandfather built and operated a mechanic shop and two convenience stores and owned a good twelve acres of land. Over time, however, the property and all of the stores were sold off to other people until now the current family owns a combined acre and a half of property and two homes (Grandparents and my family). But it's still fun to see roads named Dockery or Merrill and know that my relatives once owned all of it.

Substance abuse, addiction, heart disease, usually not many family members with good jobs or education, crime and partying >_>
All the women in my family from my mum's side (including me) have the same distinct pinky toenails, their really small and shaped like a spike or something. They're pretty weird. We're also very, very stubborn and apparently we tend to have large bums. My nan calls it the "Evans family bum". That's not even my last name but okay.
Also, all of my family on my mum's side, including me and my brothers, are very competitive in nature. Monopoly is a huge ****ing no-no.
I don't really know much about my dad's side unfortunately.
Drinking and generally doing not so glamorous jobs because it's a job and the right thing to do. I guess you could throw not really reaching your full potential in there, cause we're all pretty damn smart, but due to circumstance or need, we take whatever job we can get because it's stable and pays the bills.
Oh and also being the toughest sons of bitches around, men and women both. Men, physically, and the women can endure it all in stride, and then we do things like make jokes in the middle of funerals.

Truck Driving! YEAAAAH BOI!
My dad and Grandfather were truck drivers - his parents owned a trucking company Way Back When, then my GPa was in WWII and my dad was in 'Nam. And then they both raced (as I posted about in another thread).
Alcoholism is known on my dad's side - his mom was an alcoholic. My dad drinks quite a bit as does my sister & uh... Me (shut up). My brother & mom don't, although my mom likes champagne sometimes. Various health issues, NASCAR racing, ummmm... IDK... My brother and sister were popular in high school, so everyone knows them in my hometown. Actually... Everyone in my hometown knows my family, I'm just known as "Al & Brandi's Little Sister". Yay.
One of my brothers was in a semi-successful christian swing band. The other one is somewhat well known around Corvallis for his movies and drinking at the bars. Also occasionally for singing with a local band. I'm not really sure if my family as a whole is known for anything, but there is a particular condiment producing company on the east coast whose name is almost identical to our last name, minus one letter, so I get a little bit of crap for that now that I'm in like a more eastern part of the country (never on the west coast though.) I dunno though. We're descended from Germans from Russia, and the older folk like their polka music. Also also, we're generally Catholic, and also also also we probably like our beer. Anyhoo...
