What's yer favorite beer?

Now HERE'S an all ages thread that we can ALL enjoy. Of all the beers you've ever had, what was your absolute favorite? And I don't mean what's the one you usually buy, or what's your go-to beer. What is the best tasting one, that made you feel the most relaxed? Or one or the other, if that one is your favorite.

I believe This Double Stout Black Ale made by Green Flash Brewing Co. of San Diego, California, is my favorite. Love dark beers, and this one has that dark, mocha-like taste. Also a kind of fruity taste. And it isn't that bitter at all. But it's certainly put me on my ass tonight, heh. 8.8% Alcohol, doesn't taste that strong at all. If you are in this region, I highly recommend it. Anyhoo...

Stella ****ing Artois, ever since I first took sip of it I knew this was my beer. It's not as strong and tepid as majority of other ones I had opportunity to taste, shame though it's not as available as it used to be, for some strange reason only few places sell it nowadays.

Stella is available quite freely all over the UK.

When I did drink, I used to go to the local beer and cider festival, normally just for the cider, but they did a few chocolate flavour dark porter, and continental lagers. There was this one that tasted like raspberries, and I easily put away a good five bottles. They were small bottles but at about 7% volume, it had quite the effect. :/

I haven't had as much of a broad range of taste tests as some others might have had, but my favourite so far is TED's (Tooheys extra dry) and Tooheys platinum but I have only tasted platinum once.
It has a real nice crisp, clean taste to it, no disturbing after taste and doesn't leave you scrapping you tongue with a razor blade after three drinks, and it just so happens to be my go to beer.
But I would like to get out and try some more varieties of beer, I have also had cider yes yes I know sacrilege but hey I like to try new things.

I am a personal fan of local brews. I commonly drink MGD when I know I am having a lot to drink. When I get a chance, I will buy Leinenkugel Creamy Dark. Nice and smooth.

Still waiting for some of that Samuel Jacksons beer. It'll get ya drunk!

I always go for good ol' Guiness when it comes to beer. I absolutely love that stuff. Although I am definitely more of a Cider person, a good pint of Guiness goes down nicely.

Guys, I don't know if you have noticed, but I think beer tastes like piss. I will drink some ciders though, and I have a mild liking to Guinness when I'm uber drunk. Other then that, keep that stuff away from me. I barely like the smell. The guys drink PBR all the time and I think it's nasty. I have also tasted a broad range of beers just out of curiosity. I don't base this opinion off of just one beer. That's mean.

I don't drink much...at all, but my favorite is some of the granville island brewing ales. Especially their seasonal brews. Flase Creek Raspberry and Lions Winter ales...they are pretty tasty.

If I acquire the taste for Whiskey, I can acquire the taste for beer. Unfortunately, I don't want to. Whiskey is the best thing there ever were. It's actually distilled beer if you look at it the right way. At least, that's what I've heard.

Keith's is usually good though. Or Rickard's Red or white is pretty good too. Still end up tasting like piss to me though. Why do guys like drinking piss so much?

Blue Moon is always good. There is a local brewery here in the city I live. Point Special and Point Amber are alright, but nothing special. Nice and cheap.

I avoid any Budweiser products with a passion.

There's a microbrewery nearby here that has a raspberry lager that's pretty good, very low alcohol content though. Think the abv is like 3.5% or something, not very high.

Generally I'm not a beer person, I just don't like the flavor all that much, that microbrewery's stuff is pretty much the only exception (they have one they call Imperial stout that I get a lot, that shit gets me ****ed up pretty quick), I never go out and buy beer in bottles or cans. More of a whiskey man myself if I'm going to be drinking anything hard to begin with. Far as Whiskey goes, it's either Jack Daniel's or Crown Royal. Rum's not bad either if you get the good stuff. Me and the Cap'n make it happen every so often.

Really I have to be in the mood for that kinda stuff though, when it's just casual drinking without the intent of getting shitfaced, I usually stick to Mike's Hard Lemonade or something like that, I just like sweeter tasting things most of the time, I can just kick back and drink it like pop and not give a shit. Sminoff Ice is pretty good for casual drinking like that too, but the thing I find myself drinking most often is Mike's. Of course I only just started drinking legally, I'm sure I'll expand my horizons with alcoholic beverages as I age.

That's such a weird choice. It's just a regular lager.
Also, I live in the city where it is made.

You know, you're not the first one who said that. I have a rather weird taste, I guess, although I don't see anything wrong with preferring a regular lager.

Corona's another beer I like, it's one of the most expensive imported beer we have here. As for the local beer, I enjoy Karlovačko the most even though it's somewhat bitter and stronger than I'm accustomed to.

Ragna is a beer snob. Also, that'd be cooler if Kwak was named Kawk. Also, I will drink Corona sometimes but it gives me a headache everytime.

My favorites are the ones that I do drink often; PBR and Bud. Now there is no real reason for me to go on about these but I will have to say there is a third that I don't drink to often but still love regardless. I tend to keep this selection reserved for Oktoberfest.



Not a dark beer guy but this stuff has a dang good flavor, excellent texture and goes down so smooth. Perfect reasons for me to love this drink.

I went to the pub with the boyfriend one night to try their selection to find out which drink would become a new go-to drink. One of them was Blue Moon, haha. It came served in a really long, girly glass and he was getting looks the whole time he was drinking it. ^^;

I've developed a taste for San Miguel. They were serving that and Becks at a pub I went to near work, but I hate Becks. So I tried San Miguel, and found it to be quite refreshing.



Aside from that, I really like Budweiser and Guinness. I can only drink Budweiser from a glass bottle, and Guinness from a pump though. I feel like a drunkard when I drink from cans...

It could just be what you prefer drinking out of. A friend of mine hates drinking from glass bottles because they can't lol. They expect to suckle it like a plastic bottle, and it doesn't quite work because the beer foams up and your lips get sucked into it.

Glasses are easier to drink from by most people, and most drinks come served in them here. I've never just been given a bottle at a pub, unless you count being given the glass with ice to go along with it.

Btw, beer sucks with ice. Fruity ciders though...

Do this: buy bottles (which taste better than canned beer). Drink one out of the bottle. Then for the second one pour it into a glass and drink it. It's better. Try it. That's why.

But I guess its no different to pouring it into a plastic funnel when ready to have a beer 'bong'. The beer is able to be slammed down like cordial because its lost all its 'fizzyness'. I do not prefer my beer that way though, I like the zazz i get from a freshly opened bottle. I guess it comes down to preference then.

The only one I can chug down is Blue Moon and thats if I'm partially drunk.

As far as what I drink, it's nearly always Guinness. That's if I'm at a bar -- if they don't have it (most places around here don't, and the bar I go to only got it because they knew they could sell it to me), of if I buy something to take out fishing, I'll end up with a Miller Lite or Coors Lite. Honestly, I know a lot of people have their preference of light beers, but I can't really tell them apart. I've drank too many different types of real beer, and that light crap all tastes prettymuch the same to me.

As far as my favorites go, Guinness might be the one. The Draught. Besides that, probably Spotted Cow, from New Glarus. Newcastle makes some good stuff, too. And I'm a fan of ambers, as well. But now that I think of it, it's been a while since I had a High Life, and that's good stuff.

I'm actually surprised how many people like Blue Moon. It's like the Mike's of beer. Just way too sweet and fruity, not a man's drink.

It's the same path: Boone's Farm, then UV/lemonade, then assorted other fufu drinks, then the cheapest beer available, then cheap light beer, then actual drinks, then into actual beers. Later in life, you'll realize that the point of an alcoholic drink isn't to hide the alcohol taste so you can add more booze, it's because you will actually enjoy the drink.
