User Notes?

Do you people still use ye olde user notes in other members profiles?
I can't remember the last time I left someone one.
Do they still serve their purpose?
Did you even know you could leave user notes?
Whats you most memorable user note?

I liked them when I first joined it is like a little lasting impression that other members leave of you on you profile.

This is my favourite user note by our long lost member Kilala.

Ah, another usernote from yours truly xD. Should you be scared? Maybe... I have much to say, so I shall try and get it all down.

We've known each other a while now, and as each day that goes by I value our friendship more and more.
You are such an amazing guy in so many ways. Your nickname is the Kindness Saviour and you live up to every second of every day. You make me smile, laugh, feel good.. all that and more. Like I have said to you many a time, you are really... awesome. Even that word doesn't come close!

So... not only do you have all that but you are talented too. Your writing skills are brilliant, and I really do hope that you'll get that novel underway! But remember... I want one of the first copies ^~. And then I'll buy hundreds more and tell everyone I know the amazing author haha! (I will of course request that you sign one copy )

Maybe one day you'll stop by Switzerland and I can show you round the mountain meadows x3. We could yak on all day none-stop about the most random stuff I'm sure.

In short, I never plan on stopping talking to you. Yes you have yourself a stalker xD! Eh-hem, no seriously.
I have the utmost respect for you and value every conversation we have.

I give them to members that I feel deserve them. As a sort of compliment, I guess. I have read some that people give others and I just don't get why they would write that. It's not that the user note was bad, just it didn't actually say anything. For instance, this is one I read...

"Haha, I am giving you a user note!"

That was it. Where was the "note" part?

NOTE: I am not complaining about user notes because I haven't gotten any. I am merely stating my opinion about them.

EDIT: I received my first user note ten minutes after I made this post. I guess a little subtle advertising goes a long way.

I have seen the user notes on other people's pages and i like the idea of being able to write nice notes/reviews about people and sticky them to a seperate section of the user's profile.

But i agree with Michael Swayne, i would only give one out if i feel someone deserved them - i'm not really in the habit of just going to people's profiles and glorifying it with my thoughts on said person. If i really wanted to do that, i would just go say hi on their normal profile page.

The thing I don't like about user notes is that you can't edit them, so if you make a grammar mistake it's there FOREVER... Other than that, I don't have too much of an opinion. I haven't sent a user note in a long time. I also haven't looked at my user notes in a long time...

Oddly the nicest User Note/my favorite also came from Kilala ahaha.

I leave them when I feel like it, which isn't very often, mostly because I'm lazy and if I think you're cool...I'll tell you that you're cool.

I only got one, but I don't let it bug me. Yeah, I've been gone for a while but I have still written some pretty good posts here. So being the awesome writer that I am I let things like that slide.

At least it was a girl, angelmarie, who took my user note virginity. xD

I like how they're kinda secret and you have to actually check once in awhile to see if you got one. It's cute that way, kind of like surprise sex.
