I was watching this on the television while I was waiting in the hospital. I didn't know such a disease could exist. I feel extremely sorry for the guy. It must really suck to have to carry all that around on your body. A doctor came to diagnose it, but the guy refused to take any medicine. There's others with that condition in his area, too, 'cept they all have it in different spots. I don't know if this is new to anyone else, but damn.. it almost looks like it's fake, but it isn't.

My grandma got this weird skin virus she would get blisters and stuff they even biopsied it and couldnt figure out what it was,gave her cremas that didnt work,my mom decided to use vitamin e and it kinda cleared up but she really just broke out in the winter and summer and really bad too. Anyway theres alot of odd stuff out there that you dont know anything about until you hear about it and say "oh thats not real" you have to get all the facts before saying if its real or not.

But damn this dicease is horrible, personally I've never ever seen or heard of it, but I feel sorry for the guy. I wonder if it hurts. otherwise he could smack the shit out of people with paws like that.

It was issued at the same time as the mandate that says everything that appears on TV (and youtube) is false. Unfortunately there is no online copy, hence no link.

Personally, it looks legit to me, and I cannot find anything to conclusively suggest it isn't...

All I'm saying is that this looks too ridiculous to be true. Yeah, HPV exists, but it doesn't turn people into trees. It causes warts. It doesn't turn people into trees. Even if it gets into open cuts, it doesn't turn people into trees. I've known people with HPV. HPV is very common. Not common to the extent where people turn into trees.

It's always best to keep an open mind. I've seen a lot of strange things in my relatively short time on Earth. I've found if you look at things with a more closed mind you deny yourself some of reality. Whatever the reality may be. ><

I've seen plenty of strange things, too. But I don't care what kind of virus it is, it's not going to cause the guy to suddenly gain the ability to produce chlorophyll/chloroplasts. It's not going to give this guy the ability to produce spores.

I didn't want to post it earlier, but someone already said it; how did the dude get his clothes on? If those are the clothes he's been wearing since the incident, how do they look so clean?

Never mind that, a dosage of Vitamin E wouldn't make a treatment like that go away. HPV also fades after long periods of time, it doesn't escalate. All this would lead me to assume that this guy is not suffering from HPV.

I mean, if this guy is seriously turning into a tree, I'll swallow my words. But there is just no chance this is true. Forget closed mind, this is just too silly.

Of course he ain't gonna suddenly gain the ability to produce chlorophyll/chloroplasts, just like his cells aren't gonna become plantlike at a molecular level.
I already mentioned the clothes. He's a big bigger at the ends of his feet and all, but he still looks like he could get the clothing over it. Like a plaster cast or something. You can still get the clothing over it, sometimes even with just minimal annoyance...
Besides, no bone in that tissue. I highly doubt it'll be that inflexible... >>

I mean, yeah, I feel like shit for the guy, but would YOU want to give him a hug or shake his hand? I know I wouldn't.

Why? Well jeez... Warts? All those flies? I'm a hygiene freak, I'd have to bath and shower before and after even being near him.

Hell, I don't even feel right leaving the house without having had a bath in the same day beforehand most of the time.

Darn, I just saw the video and I can't believe what I saw. That mutated growth looks quite disgusting, a mixture between barklike warts and apparently nail overgrowth as well. And one of his hands is big, real big. Yet, it seems that the warts cause him no pain, since he behaves quite normally despite the condition.

Also, who'd have known a treatment of Vitamin E synthed in labs would work as a treatment? Seems that it helps on the immune system development, as the man has a compromised system. It's a miracle he has such a good health, save for the warts.

About the info I said first...I know of it because there's an ad on TV that promotes a vaccine against the type of Human Papilloma Virus responsible for cancer in the uterus. Granted, perhaps it's not the same type and more of a preventive vaccine than an antiviral compound, but I wonder how it may result on someone with that genetic defect? Perhaps it could halt the development of said virus on the small number of people with such genetic mutation?

Still...it's disturbing, but there's also elephantiasis (is it written that way? Y'know, the Elephant-Man condition?), gigantism and dwarfism, which are not related but also cause abnormal growth. And the first one is equally disturbing, and better known.
