Okay. I know this seems like a kinda stupid idea but I've had this on my mind for a little too long now. I've been thinking, how about we make a TFF RPG? Many others that I've mentioned the idea to have supported it and wish it to be made, such as Silver, Lily, Ann and Froggie. That was all last year...now, a few months later, our imagination might become a reality.

No. Not Role Playing like in the RPB sections and etc. An actual RPG Game made with RPG Maker 2003.

The idea for a TFF RPG came to thought with my 'lame noob story' in the Literature section, the first one I ever posted in there. Simply known as 'TFF1'. I'm sure Toph will know what I'm talking about. Don't worry, the horridness of the noob version will no longer exist. ^^

Which is why I'm gonna make a new plot unrelated to TFF1, which had Sonic and Mario hacking the forums. (Yeah I know how weird that is)

Anyway, as far is this idea of an RPG goes, I will not post any more ideas in this post. I want to know whether or not this idea is accepted before I make a huge long post which will get locked after all that hard work.

Why am I posting this if I'm gonna make it myself for fun? Because I'm not. I can't do this hard work all by myself. I need helpers!

To make sprites, find music, boss ideas, ideas for sidequests, and all that junk!I'll just make use of your stuff and make the game. Oh and of course. What is a TFF game without it's lovely members?

If you wish to be in the game, tell me and I'll add you to the list, hehe. Just remember this. YOU make up your own dialogue for your own characters. How are we going to do this if you don't know about the plot of the RPG, you ask?MSN. Yahoo. AIM. All that garbage. If you don't have those I'm fine if someone posts some link to a chat room here. I'll explain it all there.

So basically. If you want to help with a specific part of the RPG, feel free to post in here. And yes. The website where the MIDI files will be taken from will be credited, heh.

EDIT: Forgot to mention this, and I thank Dimmufan for somewhat reminding me. You still CAN be in the RPG as a boss. Not plot related though. More like for sidequests.

Please describe you want your character to look like. Otherwise we'll just modify the original RM2k3 sprites and dump in some ordinary battle animations from websites that shall be credited. Or if you want to make your own character some sprites yourselves, go ahead, I won't mind. Or alternatively you can make one using Charas Project.

I can throw some ideas for game. (If I just happen to visit here more often). Naturallu I hope to be one of the characters. Not any main character, more like someone that drops in and leaves after that.

One side quest could be to find Almighty-Ban-Hammer from the depths of archieve. There could be enemys like some unactive members from the old times and elimanation threads as traps. Hammer would be protected by Lococolt04.

I'd like to be in the game, but even though I'm into game development, I'll stay out of helping out with development of this game.

I hate to be a pessimist, and I am NOT saying that this will happen to this project, but these big TFF projects just NEVER get finished. Clan Wars, Forums Wars, Crazy Horse.... they all just... stopped getting developed. What would happen is they'd all seem nice and simple to begin with.... then more and more people would contribute ideas until they became insanely complicated and people got lazy and stopped contributing at all... until the projects just died. This happened no matter HOW dedicated people said they were, and no matter how enthusiastic they seemed to be.

I'm not telling you to not bother, I'm just saying I don't want to get involved with something and that happens again. I... I've just been hurt too many times before :'( I honestly would like to see this game made

A word of advice to you, Old Bean... don't let too many people get involved with development, and don't let it become too complicated!

As for my character... if it's cool with you, try to make it look like Necron from FFIX, but the same size as regular humans. Basically, try to copy my avatar in a style that best suits the art style of characters in the game. I'd like to see the sprite before it's finalised, too.
I see myself as being some kind of supporting character, if you're having any. Like Seifer or Beatrix... joining the party for a while, but for the rest of the game is an NPC contributing to the story.

Why I see myself as a supporting character I do not know. Maybe it's the fact that I have sporadic spurts of lurking rather than posting regularly, and am not always around ^_^

Haha, thanks for the advice. I'm not planning on letting this thing die. If I do something like post a topic about it, thats basically me saying I'm not giving up on it. (Partly why OB2 turned out crap. ><)

As for the sprite set, sure, we'll show it to you once we got you done

I can help you write it if you like. I'm alright with dialogue, since I spend all of my time talking and listening to other people talk. I wouldn't mind being in it; but at the same time, you don't want it getting overcrowded, or it'll get insane.

Not really, you can always have fellows as NPCs that wander aimlessly around towns in erratic paths and say the same sentence over and over.

Well, I'm willing to help out in any possible way that I can, therefore :
-Sprites
-I WANTZ TO BE A CHARACTER
-Music Searcher (And composer if possible)
-Side Quest ideas
-Optional Bosses
-Storyline

As for character details I'm happy with the preset values for 'Mage A' for my character, and perhaps the appearance as a character who only joins the party at small segments at a time or whenever a 'magey' person is needed.

Yeah, aside from that I could help with the actual eventing of the game, seeing as I'm a wee bit of a dab-hand at RM2k3 and RMXP. So yeah, wherever I can help.

. but I have noticed Forum based games before and sadly they are no longer with us

. but on a lighter note, I would love to to help with side quest Ideas and maybe be a character or a low level boss.

As already said-ed on MSN, I shall be your music-girl. I wouldn't mind being a character as well but if I can't do sprites then stuff it, since I don't want to waste the time of the sprite-makers with one of me too. XD

Anyway, as Cheez said: "madcore idea", lol. Can't wait to see the finished product. ^^

Well, since the idea seems accepted, I may as well show off what I've been working on for a while...note, these pictures are nothing special but just showing off what I've done so far. (Heck I haven't even started doing the world map or any other stuff. It's just the opening.

EDIT: I know that the font in the pics is sorta annoying. I'm working on that too.

This idea is so fun. If it actually gets somewhere near finished, that will be really exciting.

I won't try to muscle my way into a main character spot, but, if you'd like, I'd enjoy being a reoccurring character. Like... a shopkeeper or someone to give advice ooooor just something badass wandering around, whatever. I'll throw in my own dialogue whenever you need it or throw in an idea when I have one.

Excellent, you're in. In fact, you can be a reoccuring character with all of those traits! Besides, if I can't continue on with this project, I'll either give it to someone else to complete or I'll just release the unfinished work. (Which I hope won't happen)

As for Doc Rocco, um...uh...sure...of course you can. But obviously I won't be using those sprites, as it seems they were created for nobody, heh. I'll contact you if I need any battle charsets then. And I also noticed they were Chara Project generated...

...I have no problem with that really

, but it would be nice if I could nab an actual spriter who can make their own sprites instead of generators. I'd love to have one of those. ^^

I would like to be in the game. But Im not online much so I won't be able to help with the development that much. I don't have to a major character just one of the wandering NPCs would be just as good. I want to be a bar patron or something like that.

I'd really like to get involved but I can't help with the sprites or coding all I can do is write and draw and I'm a dab hand at those two areas. So I'm probably only useful for dialogue but hey every little helps. Also I'd like to be a character because hey who wouldn't, it would be awesome to be a main character but I'd settle for a random NPC as long as my character is grim and emotionless with sporadic bursts of dark poetry I'd be happy

Put me in as a Secret Character. You probably could guess what I look like. Dark hair, Tall, White shirt, Black jeans, Carries a wide black sword.

I can't create any pixed characters right now.
I just got rid of my old computer and it had RPG Maker 2000 in it. So now I can't do crap to help you in any way but storyline and ideas.

If you wanted to you can use my likeness if you want in your game. I think if you make the dialogue long winded and several pages long then you probably will have nailed my speaking style pretty accurately. That aside you can do whatever you want. Its an interesting idea and if you manage to get a good portion of the members in the game it will probably feel like something familiar.

On a side note, if you get it finished I can test it for bugs. ^^; Seeing as I test video games as my job currently. That is about all I can offer you since I have too many projects on hand.

Ah I was talking with Jules on MSN earlier. His computer has died, so he may not be working on this until he gets a new computer. He should be working on it again soon though. And at the speed he was doing things before, I don't think it'd take him so long to finish at all once he gets started again.

i want in, you can use me as an NPC haha that only shoots out random 3 word dialog. char could just look like a random sprit for all i care or can have resembalences to the guy on the left in my sig pic.

! I definitely want in. RPG's are my platform.

Before I have my say, you'd probably need someone to come up with monsters/bestiary for the game. I could pitch you some advice on how the monsters should look, their names, the loot, their HP, and all the otha needs. I could also help with sub-quest plots and bosses too(I love those in RPG's!).

I want to be an optional character, fitted into the sub- quests. I just peeped this page so I can't really generate you no ideas right now, but in the morning, I'll be sure to crack open the old noggin! I really would love to have an RPG game on here so I will help to the best of my obilities. Most of all, seeing yo work come together and I contributed to it would ROCK

I got a couple of good game starter bosses that should help you out.

First is Tiruno.

Bio: A knight betrayed by his kingdom, bent on vengence, and in the end turning him to a Dark Knight.

His stats: HP-300 /MP-55/ Attacks with: Petrify Slice (25% of slow numb, 10% of Petrify), Dark Void (causes speed to be cut by 1/4, 75% succession), Black Heart (sacrifices 1/6 of HP to boost Strength and Magic Defense)

Requim Sage

Bio: A Sage that met his/her end without accepting a moral life purpose. (This could fit into the story!!! (Hint, Hint))

Stats: HP- 450/ MP-110/ Attacks with: Elegy ( slows the entire partys' time reaction), Time Travel (sends a character back and forth through time. No actions for the character for 5 turns), Final Sentence (A random number is shown above everyone. If the Sage is not defeated when the timer reaches Zero, everyone, including the Sage, will perish)

Magic: Fire, Ice, Lit, Osmose, Protect, and Shell

Death Dealer

Bio: A general that died on the battle field. Meeting an unwanted death, he still commands his minions into battles. Through the grave.....

Stats: HP-1000/ MP-60/ Attacks with: Reinforcements(calls hell skeletons to assist them), One For All( sacrifices his soilders to make his weapons' base strength stronger), Judgement( anyone who attacks the Death Dealer after this move, instantly perishes)

Well as said in my return topic, I am well and truly back, as is the RPG project. Woo. I've come to post just to say that I'll be reviewing all your posts and seeing if I can add you onto the team, which will be sorta slow for obvious reasons. I didn't expect two pages of a topic so quick. Not that it's a bad thing, heh. So okay.

Anyway, work on progress so far is...making the first boss. Pics will be up soon. ^^

EDIT: I haven't read all the posts yet, but I do I have a screenshot of the boss for you. Obviously it ain't gonna be tough since it's only the first one...however...when you DO play the game, it'll...confuse you a bit...

Who could this foe be!? Could Silver have perhaps stumbled into the FFVI section of the forum without realising, or could one of his deadly creations have found him and wanted to take out the trash? Or could it be someone he knows? Hum...

EDIT 4: Yet again no one posts so I have to resort to editing posts yet again. I have no pics since all they'll feature is a pic of being inside the elevator.

In other words, the elevator feature has been implemented. Once you choose a floor for the elevator to take you to, the screen switches over to the main character in the elevator. The screen shakes. The screen switches over to the chosen floor.

So how does this thing work exactly, I'm kinda confused by reading it, but I haven't checked the links so I am going to do that. If you are still taking more characters that is great, because I'd like to be in it. I don't care what you put me in for, I can be that guy like Zell, who is really friendly to people but has a bad temper and likes to punch things. For added flavor you could have me teasing some person for laughs, like a NPC or a main character, because I'm pretty good at that.

I think the game could do with some graphical tweaks, as I've already said I've been making face-sets and have created a set for myself and a set for Silver (seeing as so far he's the only one with a showcased sprite).

The graphical improvements that really badly need done are what I assume are the town walls, they should probably be stone rather than what you already have. And then using an autotile (3rd Row, 3rd Column on the default Town Tileset) to create an illusion of depth.

Also, the TFF Office, if it's an interior you don't need to cover the entire map, instead use an autotile to cover the parts that aren't the back wall and the floor.
