Oregon probably, or upstate New York like right next to Canada. Or some nice place in Canada lol. Maybe even Alaska, or Italy so I can die with a full stomach.
Where do you want to settle down? Stop working and just enjoy yourself. I think most of the people here will wanna be in places where Internet connection is possible. I for one definitely wanna live in a big city in a condo when I'm all done working.
Living here wouldn't be bad though.

Yeah that does look good though I would be happy to retire in a quiet remote country side cabin next to a river or something or even on the beach so I can go fishing every morning.

The finer details of a signature:
I have no idea.
I'd like to be somewhere quiet, with a nice view. I'd want a large garden, and a place somewhere near a lake surrounded by woodland would be nice. BBQs in summer, and a nice log fire indoors in winter.
Also, wherever I am, I don't want it to be too hot or too cold. Just perfect weather, with mild rain once or twice a week, and warm sunshine the rest. Also, it has to snow in winter.
Paaaaage streeeeeetch...
Anyway, as for where I would like to retire, I don't want to really settle anywhere. I want to travel and see different places. I want to be one of those old people that drive an RV and just live out of that because they're always on the go. Seems like that would be a lot more fun that just settling in one spot for the rest of my life.

Oklahoma has the "make my day law" that pretty much lets you shoot someone if they're messing with you on your property and protects people from any criminal charge or civil suit if they use force (which includes deadly force) against an invader of the home.
If you do go to court, a good lawyer can defend your case as a justifiable homicide. Of course that doesn't mean you can just shoot anyone that trespasses on your property. You have to be able to prove that the intention of the intruder was a malicious one.

i think they made that law in florida too, that if someone is on your property and you dont want them there and they wont leave, you are allowed to shoot them, a neighbor down here was shot with a shot gun because his neighbor, thought he was a burglar or something. Crazy Shit o.o

Kansas and Missouri have both the "Make My Day Law" and the "Castle Law"
as long as you don't shoot em in the back, you're pretty much free and clear. Even in your vehicle
Unfortunately NY has the most retarded gun laws...
I have no idea what I'd like to do when I retire. I'd hope I'm not so old and broke-down that I couldn't do anything or go anywhere. I'd love to travel all around the world and just see America.
That being said, if I had to pick just one spot, I would probably pick something in NY, either around the hills in Binghamton, or someplace out in Suffolk, where I could have myself a nice house and just enjoy living it up.

Retire, WTF is that? I will drive it till I have to retire the wheel again!
In all seriousness I doubt I will ever get to do that, most males die in my family line at around 65. Also I can't see myself not doing anything for long periods of time. The quotation on my grave marker will probably read "This ****er worked"
Now if I was to retire I could see myself in a few different places but I would like to say that my most likly pick would be up in the Ozarks, around Eureka. Damn how I love that place haha. Sad thing is it cost an arm and a leg to live there and if you don't own a shop then you probably aren't making any money.
Now that I have thought about it for about 3 more seconds, I know where Pete and myself will retire. A hole in the wall bar, it will have cots set up for both of us, an unlimited supply of PBR, and some nice pool tables. It would be the longest retirement ever, a wooping 3 days and then we both die.

The moon. What better place? Low gravity, not enough people to piss you off, the best view you could ever have...
Meier, I'll take you up on that. I only have one condition. Before we actually decide we're going on this epic binge, we have to literally walk off into the sunset, presumably never to be seen again... until they find our smiling drunken corpses.

If I was to retire, I would probably try somehow to keep my parent's house that they have at the moment and live on the property. 2 and 1/2 acres to do whatever on, nice ranch-style house, pool, fountain, out in the middle of nowhere.
My kind of place.

I was thinking a nice little apartment close to shops/whatever else I'd need. Easy upkeep and just very conveniant. If it's close to a beach all the better.
I might change my way of thinking by the time I do retire as it seems very far away, but what I'm thinking so far sounds like a nice arrangement.

I'll just be happy if I can retire when I get to that point in life. The way things are going these days you won't be able to retire until 85...or maybe never. Particularly since pensions don't exist anymore unless you happen to own a mega-corp and give yourself one and social security will run out long before we get there. And the world may well end before that, who knows.
But, should I live long enough and have the financial means to do so, I want to travel and, when not traveling, live somewhere sunny and warm by the ocean. Preferably tropical. If I somehow end up rich I'll just buy myself an island and have a nice personal resort built (and maintained!). If not I'll settle for a house, probably not very big, by the beach. Not too close in case of hurricanes and/or a tsunami, though. Either that or I'll just buy a room on a cruise ship.
