    Opportunist jerks online?

    Does anyone else notice them?
For example in my gw2 forum, everyone gets along more or less okay, and one guy obviously was having a rough day, and he didnt even say anything bad about gw2

Was saying something bout how he was getting frustrated with the puzzles and combat and was wondering If it be better for him to try Wow or swtor

And from the first reply, every single poster 'trolled' him,
    Like 'go play wow douchebag'
'sorry this games too hard, want a chocolate?'
'what a baby, he wants to be coddled'

I was like wtf? Didn't even want to reply in the thread cus I'd prolly get banned, but I sent him a PM to hang in there and hoped he doesn't take it personally.

Times like these that make me not like the internet at all, I'm pretty lonely irl so I come on to chat, but when I see this kind of behavior makes me want to reincarnate into a dolphin or something.

Well, people act that way when they're annoyed when someone says they're having difficulty with something that is actually relatively easy. Like GW2's combat system. I mean, you change your weapons out once in a while, and then you spam your skills with the appropriate hotkeys. ...How hard is that, really?

Puzzles, I can understand. I suck at puzzles as well; but the combat? If he's having trouble with GW2's combat, he'll have trouble with combat on every other MMO. ...Seriously. But that's not the point, now is it? (See, even I was getting annoyed there.)

I'm pretty sure ever since the internet's invention, "trolls" have been everywhere. How can you not notice them? They're pretty easy to spot. It's also easier for people to do because they're behind a computer screen and not in front of the person's face.

I don't understand why people get annoyed in the first place. I don't even think annoyance is the right word. When people think they're really good at something, or find something easy, they expect the same of everyone else.

I've been playing WoW for two weeks, and still have much to learn. My second day playing, I'd hit level ten or some shit, and my boyfriend thought it'd be a good time to show me my first dungeon. I didn't know what to expect, and I got bullied out of it by a bunch of level 60-something ****s who've probably been playing the game since the release of The Burning Crusade. When it was explained to them that it was my first dungeon and that they should give me a break, I got told to go and uninstall WoW.

I don't think people have patience any more. Everyone is so quick to label someone a noob and make sure that they know it that they don't realise that they were once new to something too. I understand that they were probably pissed off that my character wasn't dealing as much damage as anyone else, and that I was still gaining a load of exp for my "efforts" and thought I was trying to boost, but the sad reality is that I just wanted to see what a dungeon was like.

The internet will forever be full of jerks like that. A video game is just that; a video game. Some people take it too seriously and wonder why they're not that highly levelled warrior with a bear as a battle pet irl, but just some greasy, overweight little brat still being served breakfast, lunch and dinner by their parents who'll forever regret buying them their first gaming platform.

Or so I hope that's the case.

Patience is the major thing that comes into it, yes. I don't really condone that type of behavior when someone just straight up tells you to uninstall the game. And yeah... level 10 is a bit too soon for dungeon crawling. The weakest one I'm aware of is the one in Westfall. Pre-Cata, anyway. And you have to be at least 15-20 for that one. But I digress.

People really don't need to be acting that way. I do not act that way, because it is rude and unwarranted and just plain dumb.

In all fairness, my boyfriend had bought me all the best gear for my level and explained that he goes into dungeons at around my level for some exp and better gear (...which is more or less the point of a dungeon, the story set aside). I think I was level fifteen (apparently that's the minimum level you have to be to join any dungeon, was just informed), so I had every right to be there. I just wound up in a group with a bunch of ****s who didn't want to be awesome community members, and help their fellow player. Other dungeon groups have been really cool about it. Now I'm pretty good and confident with myself, but I'd never be a jerk to someone else because they weren't "good enough".

One bad experience should never put you off.

Cmon, Future Angel. It was totally you wasn't it =p
I think in such an instance, you should give them the attention that they deserve... which is zero. Or maybe report their posts? I dunno... In all honesty, the kind of people that play those games and join forums, tch. Sounds like a bunch of bratty 15 year olds to me.

It just comes down to whether or not a person is asking for help or just bitching, no one wants to see that, and some people are going to have fun with it. Both sides are detrimental in my opinion. But no matter the situation, there will ALWAYS be somebody ready to mock you, you just gotta ignore it. It'd not just the internet, no matter where you go, there will always be dicks and assholes.

It's not always mean spirited though, everyone has friends that you trash talk with back and forth, but some people try to do it with people they just meet, then some people choose to get offended over EVERYTHING. If you're easily offended, you probably shouldn't be online, it will just cause you more trouble than it's worth.

Umm the way you write reminds me of a guy that used to post suicidal thoughts on here.."Do Re Mi Ti La" hmm..Anyway Its not good to question why everybody acts the way they act, good or bad.. take it on at face value..but still manage somehow to keep your wits about you. Don't get caught up in all that shit. People are generally morons ah k.

Don't like the internet huh? Go play WoW, DOUCHEBAG! Reincarnate into a dolphin you say? Human must be too hard for you!

Seriously though. Just ignore them. I get your empathy for the poster. Report posts you think are offensive. Send that guy a private message telling him how you feel. There's a chance the guy didn't take it as seriously as you did (I never saw the thread at all so this may show you just how much I know about the situation). And just move on. It's seriously not worth your time to worry about it. Hope the rest of your stay at TFF can be at least more enjoyable than that experience, though it's not like TFF is some safe base in an internet game of capture the flag.

I stream Bloodborne, FFXIV, and occasionally other games.
