People who hate apple products and go out of their way to make it known. These people also think that owning an apple product somehow reflects on someones personality. Well I can tell you right now I dont give a flying **** about Mac computers purely for the reason that in my experience they havnt proved anymore functional than a windows pc. I own an apple iphone and have for a few years now. Im very use to the interface and functionality. It serves me very well and I dont think I've ever had a problem with it or has it ever seemed useless at any point. It allows me to do everything I need to with a phone and serves as a media device for music and video as well as having an high quality camera in it. Now why is it so bagged out? Why do people call them the "ifail' and their owners apart of the 'ifad'? Its because they themselves are submitting to the eternal faggotry of being apart of the "I hate apple products!" pack. "Do you hate apple products? yeah me too! lets go be cool together" All the disgusting things that have been said about the late steve jobs in relation to his creations just goes to show the quality of these people. When I get pissed off, they think its because im pissed at being bagged for having an iphone when in actual fact, its because of their ignorant attempts at trying to fit into the fad of hating something.

My question is, how can I make these people see how stupid they are?

A year or two ago one of my friends was facing a dilemma, he had to choose between iPhone 3GS and HTC HD2, shockingly both selling at the same price. He came to me for an advice and left soon with me suggesting he should buy HTC HD2 as it is indeed a superior phone. I stumbled upon him couple of days later, to my surprise he was carrying an iPhone. I asked him why he went with an iPhone, his exact response was "because it's a ****ing iPhone". While I'm all against judging people by what they wear, buy and whatnot you have to admit, a lot of people buy apple products just because it's popular thing to do.

I personally don't really hate apple products, I just don't think they're all that great and have completely valid reasons to do so.

I am part of the "eternal faggotry of the "I hate Apple products!" group. The whole "Do you hate apple products? yeah me too! lets go be cool together" is just a human thing, it gives them a feeling/sense of belonging, however trivial. Im not loud about my hate but when all my friends complain to me that they dropped their iphone (for the infinite time) and the glass screen's cracked..Im just like "Well..thats Apple for you.." Not to mention all the pre-installed software and jailbreaking involved for all their products. Fair enough Apple wont allow their products to be built and cloned by anyone else so they're free to control their prices. Naturally their *cough*overpriced*cough* expensive. You could buy 2-5 new phones with the money you pay to fix the cracked glass. All those features on it are completely useless if you drop it even once(so Ive heard). I value durability, function and simplicity when I blow my money rather than appearance and all those (social) features/apps etc. I dont need or care for such crap. Thats what my lil netbook's for. So long as I can make/receive phonecalls or txts im sweet. And I HATE touchscreens. I like button pressing. I also like Sony and DellXD

I am a Blackberry fan. Why you ask? BECAUSE IT'S CANADIAN! iPhone is NOT! That is why I hate iPhone. I don't care what the reviews say, I will not buy it. I don't even have a single apple product (except for iTunes. I can't get rid of it) on my computer. And don't be all 'Steve Jobs was the best man in the world' bullshit. It isn't just rumours. It's true. Do some damn research on that man. You won't like what you see. Don't just Wikipedia him either. In my opinion, he was a cutthroat man in a cutthroat business. It is what it is. Does that make him a great man? You decide.

It isn't a personal thing though. I will tell my friends to buy the latter choice. Whatever they essentially want. It's their phone/computer. Not mine. I tell them I'm not a fan of iPhone. It makes the conversation less dense. Not that I'm dense as a person. I just don't go judging people by their phones or choice in products they like to use. If they are happy with the choice, that's great.

I do appreciate Blackberry fans though. It isn't the best phone out there, but they do have a great line of phones. Blackberry has gotten so much hate in the past year. The stock market has reflected that hate quite a few times. They haven't exactly disappeared yet, which I'm grateful for. I love my phone. I won't trade it for anything else except another blackberry.

It is all a fad though. People like to follow trends. Just look at twitter. I do have more than just one reason to be a Blackberry fan though, as stated. I am hated by diehard iPhone fans. iPhone needs a little hate too imo. It's like a hate circle. It's also life. Deal with it.

I didn't use mac stuff for years. But in the end I got an Iphone like everybody. And it's fantastic! I went through a string of laptops. A new one every 2 years something would always happen. My buddy who works at the Mac store buys half dead ones for cheap and spruces them up then sells them. So he gave me a deal and I've had the refurbished one over 2 years now and it's been flawless.

On the other side I know 2 kids who hate mac. They love their pc's and customizing them and go out of their way as you've said to bash it every chance you get. But one of them shits all over apple yet owns an Iphone. So go figure.

I like Apple, they've always done right by me. No I don't preach it and don't care who agrees or disagrees with me.

Every thing that takes off has a loyal fan base of lovers. And a group of haters (Haters gonna hate). People for how many years made fun of cell phones and how they'll never need/use it. Or how absurd texting is. Yet we all do it. Young and old alike.

If people want to bash that's fine you just don't give them the time of day. If somebody is actually saying they don't like it cause of x,y,z. Great you can have a discussion. If they're just gonna rip on it with their friends cause it's their thing givem a thumbs at and keep going. You sadly can't make people see things they don't want to.

As far as Mac Books go I wouldn't spend that much money on one. I get excellent performance out of my HP that was half the price.

I don't own an iPhone for the sole reason of touch screens, not at all a fan of them. Therefore I go with Blackberry.

lol what? Jailbreaking is just as easy, if not easier than rooting. It also has the least amount of crapware of any phone
EDIT: i see you are talking mostly about dumb phones. Jailbreaking just makes the phone easier to use and add more functionality for the phone. It's definitely not needed for the average consumer though.

I agree that that is a good thing to look for when picking a phone. Except simplicity, the idevices usability (being able to pick it up and know how to work it) is almost on par with a dumb phone and in some cases better.

I've only ever owned one apple product before, and that's my iPod classic. I got it about four and a half years ago and it's served me well, also doesn't seem like it's going to clock out any time soon. On that basis, I don't really have any problems with Apple. However, the iPod is faulty. But hey, it works. It's lasted longer than any of my laptops, mp3 players and phones, none of which were Apple.

I would be inclined to agree, but I wouldn't say a lot of people can just tune out a large (well larger than it should be) number of people who hold a bias against you and a company you support for no good reason.
As far as legitimacy goes, usually of someone can't hold a conversation on why the iPhone sucks with me I don't consider a legitimate excuse. But that's just me.

Considering the overall popularity and rather hefty price compared to same level mobile phones I wouldn't exactly say it's as good as some of it's competition. My biggest beef with iPhones are their design, I mean you have to go through a lot of trouble to replace a measly battery or just send it to Apple for which you'll be charged mighty fine. Other than few other minor things I can live with such as lack of flash player iPhone's still a good line of quality mobile phones.

As for the main point of this thread, snob's a snob regardless of his phone, computer and whatnot.

im not arsed about the brand a product has on it, Im enough of a snob to not want cheapo equivillents of shit, but i wont turn my nose up at something just because its apple or whatever. I'm not really fond of any of these fancy new phones to be honest. I was happy enough just being able to text and call. I upgraded to an iphone purely because its what the boy has. I have a 3G iPhone, iPad 2, and an old 80GB iPod. I like apple products because they're easy to use. With the iPhone and the iPad, I love how there are different apps to suit your needs. You can do a lot with it. I haven't even filled my entire iPod yet considering the memory space. Plus it still works brand new. I hope to buy a macbook since it'll be easier for me to run art programs and draw. My pc's work fine, but I never did like dealing with viruses, computer lag, etc. However, I'd be unable to play video games if I didn't have a pc. So why not have both? Haha. Both of them are great.

I do get put off how Apple keeps pushing out new products like no tomorrow. As soon as I got an iPad 2, there's already an iPad 3. Wtf? It's so expensive just for anyone to keep updated on the latest technology.

That was the idea. I was simply stating my own personal reasons for not taking preference to Apple products and disregarding Bias comment where he was putting down others for using "dumb" phones as if to imply they're not competent enough to work an iphone (which is true in some cases. Not mine). Then through my short purposeful uninformative response, Rowan threw me right in the deep end with the notion that I hate Apple products simply because they're made by Apple? Ive always been aware that they're people who buy the iphone for social approval. Im not one. And I thought I made it clear in in my first comment. It just has unnecessary features that some of us have no intention of using and are not willing to spend that much on where you can find everything you would actually use and more on another brand but at a price thats worth its value.

My sole reason for hatred of Apple products doesn't stem from a "it's popular therefore I hate it" mentality. My hatred comes from simple logic. Mac OS is a stable, functional operating system, and anyone who says otherwise hasn't used it, or is blind. The problem is...

1) Their computers are no longer made with proprietary components. Apple has in recent years adopted third party processors that they charge just as much for as they did their proprietary G-series processors.

2) The charge nearly triple for the same 1TB HDD you can purchase on your own for a Windows PC. A Mac with a Blu-Ray drive will cost you your firstborn child, when they have become (relatively) dirt cheap for PCs.

So, when it comes down to it, when you buy a Mac, or any other Apple product, you are paying a highly exaggerated premium for what really amounts to an average product. Sure, the iPhone was innovative when it came out, but they really haven't done much to innovate since (aside from the Retina Display, which I openly admit is pretty sweet). I personally find it extremely annoying that they continue to charge outrageous prices for minimal upgrades that in most cases could be implemented with a simple firmware update.

Although forums are just a small part of the actual consumer base, I would be willing to say that most people have had experience with with the competition of smartphones, computers, and music players. Okay well not so much music players. So while yes, some people may just go out and buy every new Apple product or continue to buy them when they have the money or upgrade, its not like they are doing it blindly. As the haters are doing. Its not like they haven't had a PC, a blackberry, or a Zune before switching. Others just blindly hate because they have the trust in company to put out quality products every year worth their money.

I'm not an apple fan, but I'm not a hater either. I usually don't like apple products because they're a shitload more expensive than any of their competitors, and all you're really buying for the extra money is the pretty apple logo on the device, occasionally some extra software I wouldn't use anyways. For me it's more a matter of finding the cheapest thing that does everything I need it to do, this is pretty much never Apple. They always have more than I want or need at more than I care to pay. There's nothing WRONG with them if you like having all the extra bells and whistles and the pretty apple logo and don't mind shelling out a little extra cash to have it. As for computers, I'm definitely a PC guy, but I've owned an iMac. Got it so my roommates could use it as a media server for all their other apple devices. Doesn't bother me in the slightest using an Apple computer, I just hate their OS. Don't ask me why, it just pisses me off. But that's also not a problem, I ran Parallels on it which let's me run Windows on the iMac. Had some extra bells and whistles I didn't need, and it cost like 4x what I would've paid to have a PC of similar quality built, but I didn't pay for the whole thing either, so really it didn't bother me at all. I wouldn't ever buy another one for myself for the same reasons I mentioned above, four times the cost of what I'd pay for a PC that does all the same things I need it to do, minus the pretty logo and functions I don't use anyways, but there was absolutely nothing wrong with that iMac.

I don't like apple products because of the 'exclusivity/proprietary' factor (if that is the right term). I am not gonna lie that the fanatics are certainly annoying (I only read some stories..particularly that twitter collage about people complaining not getting an i<Something> for Christmas). But I wont give you dirty looks just for holding an iPhone or any apple product.

I have an iPod nano, I also own an Android Tablet and a Blackberry phone. I dont like MAC computers and I like PC all the way. I really don't care as long as the device serves my purpose of buying it.
