I think the way google ads work, is they take a set of keywords in the thread, and match the ads to them. Like if you had a thread raving about crocs, and how awesome they were, you'd likely find an ad for crocs in the bottom.

I might be wrong, but that's my understanding, at least.

See, this was why I loved the old gay rights threads - there would be people denouncing the rights of gay couples at the same time as being offered relationships with them. The pictures of big beefy black guys were my favourites.
