Is this a hoax or what? It's on a few news site, but none of the proper stations. I'm not bothered, but I was about to start singing "ding dong, the bleached child molesterer is dead".

Actually, he was a good musician. If this is true then it's pretty sad.
I sort of hope it's not true, he needed to make his huge last tour in England and it was going to be epic.


I bet you anything he'll rise again at the o2 arena in August as expected.

Yeah it was quite amusing i had heard the news and then checked my emails to find a spam mail for tickets to Michael's London concert.

I don't know whether to believe this yet, same as you Chez we haven't had any confirmed statements etc, there has been no offical statement from the hospital or anything yet just speculation from yes you guessed the MEDIA that he has died from cardiac arrest but if he actually has then it is truelly sad although he was F'D up he was a brilliant musician i loved his music so it is sad if true of course.

Well, I just got my NY Times news alert about his hospitalization, but they and CNN aren't saying anything about him dying.

He was a child prodigy for sure. It'll be odd to see him go.

Well, I have Sky News on right now and it says he is actually dead. There are people from the hospital apparently talking to new crews. In any case, I'd have to say I personally blame it on the boogie.

EDIT: Yup, definitely confirmed now. Weird though, how it wasn't reported quicker? Although they said he was in a deep coma, THEN died. Confusion? Maybe, he was destined to die in a way that sparked weirdness and confusion.

I had just finished work when I found out he was at least in hospital. I heard it on News at Ten, and when I got home an hour later, I checked my mail and also the news websites, and it appears so. I even thought as early as 15 minutes ago that this was a publicity stunt, as this is what old Michael does best.

Truth of the matter, it's sad to hear about anyone dying as young as he did. In todays world with our medicine and technology, you don't really expect it to happen (at least in America), nor did we hear of any reports of him being in shitty health. When I first heard that he was in the hospital, I was like "eh, he'll make it. He's probably just doing another drama act." But then, after they announced he's officially dead, I was stunned. I can't believe he's dead, it's a strange thing. I liked some of his songs but I've never been a big fan of him. And Farah Faucet too.. argh.

And to top all of this, my aunt died today as well. I can't say it was from old age, cause she was only in her 60s and she had a gallbladder problem or something, I forget what. I'll be going to her funeral later on. Today is truly a bad day.

Farrah Fawcett died today too. Throw in Ed McMahon from a few days ago and there've been a bunch of famous people dead in a really short timespan.

Regardless of whether he was a pedo or not (it seems entirely believable to me that he just had a non-sexual interest in young children, simply because he never felt like he got to have his own childhood), it's still really depressing to see anyone drop dead that young, especially someone who was exceptionally talented at such a young age.

All lame joking aside, it was a bit of a suprise to wake up to this morning. I think the fact that hes a popular entertainer and musician, and the fact that he was only 50 have suprised everyone, its strange that celebrety deaths come as a shock considering it happens to regular folks too (my regards go to Violet and her family). He wasn't in perfect health to be honest, and although the autopsy is yet to happen, its already been confirmed that he was taking 3 strong perscription medicenes: anti-depressents, tranquiliser, and something whose name has escaped my mind but my mum says that it made her feel terrible when she was having me. It is always sad when someone dies, however my mind can't evade the whole pedophile case, so I have a bit less sympathy than I would without those accusations.

To be honest, I was expecting his health to be affected by stress during the tour: from him not being able to do what he once could, the public's reaction, cue the whole vicious circle effect. I didn't quite expect this before the tour. I hope the fans can get refunds.

I have to retract my previous statement after i remembered what his child hood was like which i believe is why he loved his inner child so much because he missed out on his, think about it he was so pressured with Jackson five he missed how to be a real child which is why he was the way he was.

What a sad day. I heard them report that he was taken to hospital early this morning because TMZ had it on their site and then later on they said he may have passed away and I was thinking, 'no way'. Then for about two hours everybody was confused, was he dead or was it a load of bull but all the reports kept saying he was apparently dead. It was like 9 or 10 am here when they actually announced it. It's so hard to believe in my opinion. I wasn't his biggest fan but he had a lot of great songs, he was full of talent.

I don't know if he was really a molester or anything, I personally don't believe it. I always believed that those people just wanted his money but he was amazing either way and he will be missed by many. It's a shame he didn't get to do this last tour, all those fans miss out now and he will never be seen again.

I think it's ridiculous that after 2 hours of this news, jokes are going around about it already. Geez that's annoying, he hasn't even been dead a day.

I am shocked to the core. When I heard about it last night, I thought it was a joke, but it wasn't. I've been a fan of MJ for several years, and thought his music was amazing, and really paved the way for a lot of artists and so on. It's sad to think that a lot of people will just remember him for all the stuff he has done over the last few years. He was a great entertainer, amazing dancer and terrific singer. This is a sad day in music history.
