I don't know if any one will be interested in this but i was, i have done some entomology in my time and i found this article in a local paper. Anyway CSIRO scientist have found that the silk made by Lacewings is three times as elastic and duraible as the silk made by silkworms, it contains two fibrous proteins which are folded up like a concertina door, their silk is a cross-beta silk which has a cell structure that has a far greater rigidity than others.
How is this for a smart male insect- An insect called the dance fly the male will pick up some algae and wrap it tightly in silk which they then present to a female and as she tries to unwrap it the male does the dirty on her and gets her from behind with the old one two three and mates with her haha sly dog he is.
