The again I am curious as to if the people that have 5,000 + posts was because the old spam threads and others contributing to their count? I know the forum hasn't had the limitations it does now, or am I wrong in assuming so?

Since the spam forum has existed it has never counted towards your post counts. Though back in the day we had a real humor forum, which wasn't a spam forum and I'm pretty sure those counted. Though there was also something in place that didn't count posts under a character limit, but I don't believe that exists anymore.

As for people with 5,000 posts from the old days. Well we posted to get them. Some might have done a little spamming, but the bulk were generally regular posts. But a good amount of the posts that we have made were deleted over the years, but our counts have been preserved. The majority of mine no longer exists since I made 6000 posts in my first year being here and apart from maybe RP or two they have all been pruned away.

And I have something like +3%. The majority of my remaining posts reside in the archives.

Is this not a good example why H/W games is beneficial to the forum that all the good members have a shed load of posts in the H/W games section haha.
Anyway maybe we should put aside all these post counts and focus on how active we are.

Nobody really cares about them, but they do provide a good summary as to how active the forum is or has been recently. I've heard that it used to be a lot more active? Well, let's just hope that enough members post and log on every day so that this forum will stay active. After all, where's the fun in a forum without its members?

Yes, it was much more active when I joined. The general chat would usually have all of the threads posted in for one day nearly going to a third page. And the most active forum was the clubs forums. Most of the FF forums usually had like half of the page from the day posted in. So yes, activity was much higher back then.

And all the posting in the spam forum just proves how much people spend in there when they could be putting that activity into other forums.

Yes, but even so, that's something that keeps people coming back, right? Nobody lives inside the spam forum. They have to come out some time to post in other forums. But they just choose to post more in the spam forum because it's a lot more active, and it's more fun. So while they post there and contribute almost nothing to the forum, they also find time to post outside of it, and contribute at least something to the forum. And they come back because they know that the spam forum will be there, and there will be activity. So in the end, doesn't it actually help the activity?

So what may i ask has changed why is it not like that now, is it just because like you said Andro members seem to be centering the majority of activity in the H/W games and not General Chat etc, when i look at the new posts for the day i usually tend to look down the side and skip the ones with Humor/word games listed beside it and leave them until last.

At least the are new posts every time i log on that is the main point like Feyz said as long as members are still logging on and posting it will keep the forum alive, don't get me wrong i am not saying it will ever die.
