    I'm Poor.

I have a college education, am handsome, aren't afraid to seduce my lady superiors to move up the corporate ladder, and I'm damn smart.

I need a job though, is anyone hiring?

kinda half serious, where should I move to once my lease is up? I'm considering somewhere far, far away from my midwest in the US hole in the wall region, and want to see more culture. I'm adaptable but I need a couple ins so I can start making friends! (I guess being shy is a crippling weakness of mine)

    PLS HALP

also so my thread isn't so self-centering, what is your job-opportunity outlook like? Are you happy with where you are at? What do you ideally want to do? What is KEEPING you from doing what your heart wants you to do?

Then again this one is kind of on the outs with me if she doesn't straighten up and fly right so that means I will be back in it for the thrill of the kill. Got some in the reserves. Even got a rePETEr (<---- like that ay? AYYYYY?) on the back burner.

Block: I do like the rePETEr except it kinda makes it sound like you're going to pork Pete. No homo.

Canada! Ha ha ha. Hard to say, I don't know where I'd go if I could move to anywhere in the States. I've only been to Florida, Las Vegas and Virginia.

I'm a stay at home Mom, actually thought that I'd be able to get back to working this year as technically my kiddo should be in school... but because life likes to be an asshole our daughter has been diagnosed with Autism. Yeehaw! So I'm at home with her while she gets therapy etc. It sucks because it is NOT what I wanted in life (for her or myself, I enjoy working).

No idea what I want to do when she's finally in school and I can get back to working. Factory work is not an option anymore, maybe go back to school? No idea what to do with that either though.

    Welcome to the club, Rocky.

what is your job-opportunity outlook like?

Even with a uni diploma you still need some connections to get a half decent job here which is pretty sad. Luckily the field I'm schooling myself in is pretty wide as far as jobs go.

Are you happy with where you are at?

Part of me is, my family and friends are here, all of them are really supportive as I head towards my diploma, though it's not really ideal place for current youth and future generations.

What do you ideally want to do?

Honestly, I want to teach Mechanics in highschool I used to go in, either that or work as building inspector, although if a chance to leave this godforsaken place ever occurs I'll take it without thinking twice.

What is KEEPING you from doing what your heart wants you to do?

University diploma, which hopefully I'll receive in a year or so.

I never went to university, because I am poor/was poor growing up. I never grew up thinking I had to go, because I knew I could not afford it and I try to stay away from getting loans. I'm 25. I kind of feel like I should have done some studying when I was younger, but I'm not unhappy with where I'm at now. I've worked for nearly 6 years all up, current job is just factory work. I am at the end of my rope with it, nearly. I am ready to consider studying something, to get a new job or to get a new job, eventually. With me, I just don't have enough interest in anything. It'd have to be something practical, as I am not good with learnin', studyin', from books or whatever. I like to learn and earn. I've thought about becoming an electrician (but I suck at math ) or a hair dresser (but I am not creative or good with people). Just thoughts for now. I probably won't ever do it, I just like to have a job, earn money, live life. But it's something I will keep thinking about. Just waiting for something to happen early next year, then I will decide about my future job prospects.

Good luck finding a job, it is hard. I hate the interview process, that's the worst. It is hard to actually get a job and keep it. Even with a fancy degree or not. It's hard to have an employer give you a chance! Especially when there are so many other people, going for the same job. But all you can do is try, keep positive and know that one day you will get one, even if, it's not in the industry you were going for.

I hope all you guys who are looking, get one soon!!

Well, as I am officially the newspaper's composer now, my old job is available. Though, you'd be talking on the phone, so your shyness may hinder that (if you are shy on the phone). And it would give you the chance to get out of your hole in the wall, to a further east hole in the wall of the country. The pay isn't great, but nowadays money is money.

    As for your questions...

What is your job-opportunity outlook like?

There are jobs for those willing to work. Most are manual labor, but there are some office jobs available if you know who to ask.

Are you happy with where you are at?

Very much so. I have always loved delivering newspapers. Selling ads sucked for me, because I am not comfortable asking for money from businesses. But now that I'm making the paper, I really love it.

What do you ideally want to do?

In high school, I was the one who had everything planned. I was going to be go to college to become a mathematics teacher, ideally in some Spanish-speaking country. But it wasn't what I really wanted. When I graduated, I had a full-tuition scholarship to a public university (Shawnee State University), and most of my costs at Marietta College covered. I turned down both schools and went to work delivering papers. A step down at the time, but now I think it was just a detour to the escalator I am riding.

What is KEEPING you from doing what your heart wants you to do?

Honestly, I am doing what I love to do. I was always told that in order to work at something you enjoy doing, college was the way to go. But I have to disagree. I am now the third-highest ranked employee at the newspaper (just under the owner and the editor). I go to work with a smile on my face, and leave work with an even bigger smile than when I arrived.

I work at Maccies, been there for three and-a-half years now. Basically, there's nothing else really available at the moment and I can't afford to relocate, or run a car.

It's not bad money for what I do, but it has taken me three years to get where I am. I want to be staff trainer, and eventually manager, but because I kick so much ass on tills and food service (I am actually good at lobby/dining area, but I refuse to do it, because I almost had a breakdown after doing it by myself for two weeks.

Ideally, I want to be in the civil service (police, local government) in an administration position, or retail management. Preferably not at McDonald's, as I have seen so many of my friends who were once crew members, crumple into dust some days as it is so much hassle.

I think the area manager's job is cushy as hell, though. Most people hate him (me included), but really, he is not there to be liked, he is trying to maintain the stores under his jurasdictionTo be an area manager would be awesome! I get to travel, and everyone would be scared of me. Muahahaha!

I'd love to be a best-selling author, I'm just waiting for a cohesive idea.

Jobs in the US? HA! I've never had a "real job" just shitty odd jobs and all that...which either pay WELL below minimum wage...or nothing at all. The college situation is pretty ****ed up on this country, there are a LOT of graduates living at home and stuff. I've been poor since...forever, so it's no big deal to me at this point :1

Join the Air Force, lolol. Basic sucks. Then you get to Tech School, and it's a bit better. Just make sure you have a cell phone. You'll get paid and get food. Just be aware that you will get home sick. A lot. Hopefully you don't get security forces, or get something that will translate to an awesome job on the outside. EDIT: Anyhoo...

OMG TELE YOU'RE MISSING THE WUV YOUR MOM THING WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU, WHAT HAPPENED WITH PRIVATE PYLE

I can't comment, I'm doing pretty well for myself, after a four year degree for convincing myself I'd never be gainfully employed.

The answer you're looking for is Australia by the way, that is a damn enviable economy.

Come to NC, and you can come chill with me, and my three or four weird ass friends.

As far as jobs, I'm going to be looking soon...I only have half a degree, and a handful of basic IT certs, but I've got a decently paying job that lets me afford to indulge in my hobbies and still have money left over after bills, so it's not all bad. (Aww yisss run on sentence). I'm pretty shy myself, and still work in a call center. I just don't get very personal on the phone and keep it all business. It makes it easier.

Until the false economy bubble bursts and the mining boom collapses. There's no plan B at all. But for now let the good times roll!
I refer to my blog for current working conditions, i.e. a struggle for an academic foreigner.
I'll edit this to answer the questions later though.

I'd always love to have you as a roommate/friend. Mostly because you're a nice guy, but you're handsome too so I know I can take you out to the bars with me and we'll be the sexiest guys there. If I could, I'd offer you a job faster than anyone.

I stream Bloodborne, FFXIV, and occasionally other games.
