Man, it's been too long since I was last here, and I've totally lost touch with what's been going on, who's still active, blah blah blah.

I'm making this a thread about inactivity. It's funny, that despite many years ago I was all like 'I'll never leave TFF <3', I keep slipping away and forgetting to post in this place. It still holds a place on my list of bookmarks, so even when I turn senile and past exploits slip my memory, I will never truly forget this place. However, when old and senile, I may post stupid old man ramblings such as 'I didn't fight three wars so the youth of today could troll the internet!!!11!11', but senility is a medical condition and thus I cannot be held responsible.

Aaaaanyways....

Have you ever had prolonged periods of inactivity on these boards? Do you plan to stick around forever even if you sporadically slip into phases of lurking as I have found myself to do?

Yep. I was very active for my first year give or take on these boards, and knew quite a few people. Then I slipped away for a few months, reappeared for a few months, slipped away, reappeared... kind of lke a confused hibernating bear, only smaller and less hairy.

Yes. Nobody can get rid of me that easily! Although I joined a good few years after you, I have perfected the art of lurking. I often don't know why I dissappear or reappear. I do know that I now have more of a life than before, with university, catching up with friends and whatnot. I also count playing Dungeons and Dragons with a load of my friends up in my uni town more of a social life! Good thing about going away for a long period of time and returning is that theres always new people to surprise when they find out my gender. I get such kicks out of being mistaken for a man on message boards it's unbelievable! It also shows how unexciting my life must be...

There have been several occasions when I've been inactive. Just last year, I took a six month break. I was planning to be gone forever, but when I stopped by to be all like "Hey, I'm back! Except not! Fooled you!" last Fall, some people were like "you should come back!" And I was like "okay." I've also been gone from home-and the internet-a couple of Summers.

I don't intend to stick around forever, either. As I get more and more older than the general age group, I feel more and more like an old codger, totally out of place. Anyhoo...

My bouts of inactivity are usually announced; they kinda have to be. "Off for my annual week of no internet" and the sort. I mean, I'm somewhat inactive when it comes to posting as of late (re: the past three or four months), but I'm lurking all the time so I can't really consider myself to be truly inactive.

But yeah, even if I go inactive I do intend to keep coming back until something happens and TFF is no more if it ever happens. I made a few friends and while the total number now doesn't seem as high as I once guessed it to be, those I talk even semi-regularly with are all cool. Hell, my average day is around 4-12 hours of work related activity these days and I still find the time to hang out here just as much as I elsewhere IRL. That's dedication.

I have been around for a long time now I think. Not as long as some, but over two years I would suspect. Used to have over 2,000 posts before my account was deleted. After that life kind of took me away from the boards. I would come back every now and then and post something or just troll....rarely stayed long. I've been really bored at work lately so I have more time to **** around on the computer...which has led to my return. I miss the activity. TFF used to always have a billion people on. Now...not so much.

I've been inactive on and off but was for a while recently, like 2 or so months then I remember last year I had some time away from posting. I decided to come back, of course because I miss posting here and there. You get fed up and say you're going to leave FOREVER but you always end up coming back sometime. It's like an addiction.

I find it hard leaving when I have to, unless I really have to. I dunno... TFF just has thing about it which makes it hard for me to leave. There have been times I've used TFF to do everything from talk about Final Fantasy and to debate (and lose) in many issues, to just coming on to seeing if someone has replied to a PM/VM I sent them and upload banner work or pics.

I think it is down to the friends I have on here. Just like in the fleash I go crazy when I don't see my friends, I go mad if I can't get on here to talk to the friends I have on here. Some of the friends I've made here are going to be lifelong friends, I can tell you. I think I've grown stronger feelings for people on here than I have for people in the flesh, and that says it all really. ^^

I think I'm going to slowly turn into a lurker - I just don't have the time anymore, even though I try to make time for TFF. College and family come before this place though, so if I need to go it is usually for a good reason. Lurking seems more like a fairer deal - I get time to do both!

I visit these forums about once every three months, like clockwork. It's weird. I joined these forums about 7 and a half years ago now, when I was just starting high school. I basically stopped posting around my senior year of high school, but I would always check back every now and then. And now I'm three weeks and two performances of The Duchess of Malfi away from graduating college. And yet, even if I'm not active (and even if only a handful of people would remember me), I still come back here every now and then.

I was either when .com switched to .org or when we switched back to .com that a bunch of us were totally oblivious to it and as a resultinactive for ages, thinking the site was down.

Either way, it was crazy, but amusing in retrospect
