    I always wanted a lump of coal!

    So what did everyone get for Christmas? Was it something you always wanted or something completley random? What were you hoping to get(even though it's just the thought that counts ^^).
    ~~~~
    This year was a little weaker than our previous ones. We'll be celebrating it at my sister's house during New Years since the 3 hours drive to Vegas is a hassle. So, I don't get the Christmas tree or wrapped presents beneath it this time. But there's always next year.
    Anyway, what I DID get this year from my parents was the third book to the Eragon series, Brisinger or whatever. I haven't read it yet, it's just been sitting on my shelf. The story may not be too good, but the covers have some nice artwork ^^;. I also got three of my favorite cartoons on DVDs(Thumbelina, Anastasia, and Once Upon a Forest). These were all things from my mom that I picked out while in the store before Christmas, but they're still considered my present for the holiday.
    I still have a few presents coming on its way from Nathan and possibly one of my sisters. Tomorrow, my dad will be buying an Xbox 360, but not for me.. for the family(I'll prolly be playing it the most).
    So that's that. Merry Christmas to everyone again.
    Nice thread idea, Ann. ^^ And Brisingr is good. In my opinion, anyway. =O
    Umma.. I got...
    From Parents:
    - Let's use a scenario for this one so you can fully appreciate my feeling of utter WTF before opening it.
    Me: *gets down to last present in the bag* [Thinks: What the hell is in there? It's big.]
    Parents: *snicker*
    Me: *rips off the wrapping to reveal a casserole box*
    Parents: *snicker*
    Me: [Thinks: "What the fuck?"] It's, er, a casserole.
    Parents: Yes, for the unit when you go over.
    Me: [Thinks: What the FUCK?"] ...You're not serious. It's a casserole.
    Parents: Yeah.
    Me: A casserole.
    Parents: Yes.
    Me: What the hell did you give me a casserole for?
    Parents: Look inside the casserole.
    Me: *opens casserole* [Thinks: Holy fucking shit!] ...I'm not going to swear, I'm not going to swear!
    I found... the whole fucking X-Files collection. 61 discs. 9 seasons. 2 movies. 28 hours of extras. ZOMFG!!!! =DDDDD
    - Two books
    - Enchant ~ Emilie Autumn [The discontinued version]
    - Opheliac ~ Emilie Autumn [Two discs of goodness]
    - Ferrero Rochers, a Terry's Chocolate Orange and a bag of chocolate coins
    - A pair of headphones
    From my sisters:
    - A micro SD card for my phone
    - Bones season 1 box set
    From Rocco:
    - A David Tennant [as The Doctor from Doctor Who] poster. <333
    - A $20 gift card
    From my grandparents:
    - A shirt that doesn't fit. That side of the family never sends the right size of clothes for anyone. D=
    - $40 from my Nana
    As shared gifts with my sisters:
    - Adobe Design Premium Suite CS4
    - SingStar ABBA
    I got everything I wanted, plus more. I'd expected the Bones box set instead of the X-Files one from my parents as the X-Files one was obviously a lot more expensive... but I got the Bones one from my sister too! Which was amazing. And CS4 was a surprise as mum had said that she wasn't going to get it before Christmas. It makes me happy. <3
    The reality of gifts. The delights of materials, which are not to be ignored. The many-splendored things of tangible holiday swag.
    The truths. The wishes. The yuletide glory.
    My take? Please keep in mind when reading the following that I made absolutely no requests at all.
    1. One black iPod nano.
    2. One package of Miracle Fruit. (Already tried some. Vinegar=Yum)
    3. Red Herrings & White Elephants by Albert Jack
    4. Weird History 101 by John Richard Stephens
    5. Twenty-five dollars in tea.
    6. Skillet Tickets.
    7. An insulated tea-infusing Thermos.
    8. A soft Eider-down pillow.
    9. One blonde Bath Sheet towel. (Douglas Adams would be jealous)
    10. Memory foam slippers.
    11. Majin Tantei Nogami Neuro manga.
    12. Zotz and other assorted candies.
    13. One bottle of BOD cologne. (No, I don't intend to wear it.)
    14. Fifty dollars in various gift certificates.
    The above are the A-list items that caught my attention by either joy or dismay. Other less note-worthy gifts were not included.
    I will say that my tea resolved itself to samples of the following teas:
    Dragonwell green
    Gunpowder green
    Yunnan Noir black
    Snowbud white
    Jasmine #12 oolong
    Earl Grey Bravo black
    Respectfully wishing you generic holiday cheer,
    -Sin
    This year we decided to do something alittle bit different and save a little money so the whole family on my moms side decided to buy for the 6 kids of the family and no one else.
    But some how I still managed to get Ironman and Hitman on DVD. And 200 bucks.
    I still have 3 diffferent parties to go to today so I will edit this if I get anything else.
    EDIT
    OK update, a little bit of money and some serious mind blowing lovins from the one dearest to me! mmmmmm lovins.....
    1 XBOX360 Pro
    1 Guitar Hero: World Tour Bundle, with Mic, Drums and Guitar
    1 Kung Fu Pand
    1 Tony Hawk's Proving Ground
    From Dad and Stepmom
    a 30 dollar check xD Ms points anyone?
    From Grandparents on dad's side
    40 dollar giftcard to target....I can actually find a fairly good use for it
    Might as well contribute...
    -The usual generic chocolate gifts
    -Heroes season 2 which I'd been wanting for quite a while.
    -A couple of Albums, the word alive and agraceful.
    -Lots of books, 'cause I do love to read! The most interesting ones being Gamers Guinness book of records (because now me and my boyfriend can attempt to beat some), Less than Zero (because I didn't want to be one of those losers that only read American Psycho) and one called the raw shark texts which looks very good.
    - And lots of clothes because I was in desperate need of some new tops, basically none my old stuff fitted me...
    -Finally nintendo Brain Training for the DS, though exactly how true is it remains to be seen, I refuse to believe my brain age is 36! That is just more than double my age.
    Alrighty... lessee... I'll do me presents from my Dad first as I was given them on Christmas Eve.
    Dad
    - Nintendo Wii (I knew I was getting it, but it was still amazing)
    - Guitar Hero World Tour (whole band set!! =D)
    - Dr Marten's Black boots
    - Wii controllers cover (those pink and blue ones you can get =D), which came with a wheel for the racing games.
    - Wii Beach Sports
    - Mario game. I'm not sure what it's called, but it's a racing game.
    - Two books.
    - New guitar =D. Gibson, babeh. It's beeeeeaaaauuuuuutiful.
    Mum
    - iPod Classic 120GB (I knew I was getting this, too, but again it was an amazing present)
    - Dressing gown.
    - Pjs.
    - Shlippers.
    Overall, I was extremely happy with what I got. It's been a great day, too. Best Crimbo we've had in a while =D. Merry Christmas everyone .
    From my Mom and her fiance Joe:
    Little Big Planet
    Prince of Persia
    The Dark Knight on Blu-ray
    2 nice shirts to replace two of mine that were stained permanently with photo chemicals.
    From my brother Mike and his girlfriend Amanda:
    A card with $10 - I didn't expect anything from them, what with the new baby and all.
    From my father:
    A card with $30 - Whatever.
    I also got a couple of cards from coworkers and some jewelery from my best friend's relatives.
    I did get everything I asked for. I didn't want to be greedy so I limited myself to asking for three items. I didn't expect my mom to actually buy all of them for me. (I usually list a 'spare' item in case something is wicked hard to find.)
    Goodness. We're not as rich as all of you, haha. I'll edit this post with pictures, by the way.
    Lalala.
    -Really lovely sundress. [Creamy colour with black swirly embroidery. Kind of sundress-with-a-lolita-vibe. I plan on putting a black net layer underneath it to give it some poof, too.]
    -Another short dress. Purple, gorgeous, but doesn't fit.
    -Lingerie [needed baaaaadly]
    -Swimsuit [didn't have one that fit due to expanding chest. xD It grewed]
    -One skirt, one top [both lovely, and will get much wear for a long time.]
    -Hair straightener [really nice one.]
    -Camera [Needed new one.]
    -Coles/Myer gift card [from the lovely Doc Rocco]
    -CD from sisters.
    Also, the entire family got a Nintendo Wii. Which was lovely.
    I've been on this site since 2006 woah
    Wow you guys got alot of stuff this year lol. Unforuntely, I didn't really get much, but I didn't really cared if I got gifts. But my mom did buy me that new computer earlier this month. Besides that the only other things I got were some Batteries (lol), a ton of new dress shirts and pants for interviews, new pair of jeans and a pair of new slippers. <3's you mom.
    I didn't get very much
    I live in Australia, and about a month ago we got hit with a massive cyclone. We lost a few ceilings and have had to have the windows and carpet replaced. Because of all this, my parents didn't really have any time to go shopping. We haven't been talking to much of our family, as they didn't care that we didn't have any beds or clothing for a month, and no electricity for two weeks. So all I got was a nightie, a necklace and a Sing It game for our Wii.
    My parents don't really give me many presents, cos they never know what to get me so I got £40 off them but they also got me the Kylie Minogue perfume: sweet darling, A really nice Dove bath set and a new fluffy pink dressing gown with matching slippers.
    I got another Dove set from my sister.
    My auntie sent me a book by Jodi Picoult.
    Me and my partner didn't know what to get each other for Xmas this year so we went out the week before and picked our presents together and we only picked a couple cos we had spent so much on our daughter, and I picked out, 2 CD's: The very best of meatloaf and the new album from Same difference and I also picked 2 books: Cry silent tears and Broken. So I got a book and CD from my partner and the same from my daughter and also a box of celebrations.
    From my partners side of the family I got a few more bath sets, chocolates, hand knitted scarf, another book, a compact makeup set, manicure and pedicure set, a charlie body spray set and £70 (from the sisters and parents) and won £20 on a scratch card my partners parents gave couples
    My TFF Family
    My FFVII addicted nephew: Secret weapon
    My Bullet lovin half wolf cousin: Raider
    My complete FFVII nut sister: Unkown entity
    My Freya obsessed, grammar nazi brother: Doc rocco
    My presents were very good this year. My dad gave me a toaster. I am endlessly impressed by what my mother and boyfriend gave me.
    It's an improvement on last year, when a hairdryer was the highlight.
    I didn't get all that much this year as my parents bought the new house and then got hit with a lot of nasty bills and then had to pay for storm damage. Buuut this is what I did get.
    From my parents:
    Xbox 360 arcade (My old one died)
    Guitar Hero III bundle
    Sega Superstar Tennis
    A freestanding mirror. I have wanted one of these for a long time. It's so pretty. It is one of those oval wooden frame mirrors. Oh, I love it.
    Death Note DVD 6 with Rem figurine.
    Car CD player stereo thing.. all I know is I can play my Ipod. They are paying for installation cost at well.
    From my brother:
    Two pairs of earrings. Diamante studs and kind of big diamante hoops. I love them, they are very pretty.
    From my Grandma:
    $40
    From work:
    6 pack of Jim Bean
    I think that's it. Most of my presents were more expensive this year.. so I was happy with what I got
    Lessee here...well, INCLUDING what I bought with the money gained from X-Mas (Meh mum didn't get me much other than money, she didn't know WHAT to get me, lol!)
    BOOKS: The Neverending Story, Twilight, Gulliver's Travels, The Epic of Gilgamesh, Gardens of the Moon.
    GAMES: Madden '09 (360), Blue Dragon (360), Assassin's Creed (360), Lunar: Dragon Song (DS), 1600 XBox Live Points (Used for N+ and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night), Guild Wars + Eye of the North Expansion (PC)
    MUSIC: Aerosmith: Pandora's Box (A 3 CD Set with 55 songs, 20 of the recordings previously unreleased!)
    OTHERS: A sweater, leather driving gloves, a new wallet, a LED booklight, various Bosnian chocolates (OMG they are good!), goldfish crackers, cinnamon ball candies, and a teapot/tea cup set.
    OLD SKOOL - A positive appellation referring to when things weren't flashy but empty of substance, were done by hard work, didn't pander to the lowest common denominator, and required real skill. Labour-saving devices, shortcuts that reduce quality and quitting before the task is done are not characteristics of "old skool."
    In reference to computer games, refers to a game that had substantial playability without flashy graphics or eye candy. Old skool gamers appreciate difficult maneuvers, careful planning, and scorched earth policies.
    In reference to role-playing games, old skool refers to games that tested players' wits, could kill off careless characters, and required dedication and inner strength to play. Old skool games didn't pander to the ideas that everyone is created equal, that all options are open to all races, that the markets were somehow free, and that a quasi-medieval society could have near 100% literacy.
    If you want proof that nobody understands me, you need to look no further than the fact that every single gift I received this year was some sort of gift card, whether it be to specific stores or those Visa ones that are usable anywhere. Either people were saying that they did not know what I would want, or they don't want me to use the services of ladies of the night.
    Basically, what Mistress Sheena got from the parents, minus the electric trimmer. And a $25 gift card from my brother.
    ...you people get a lot of stuff.
    I'm pretty sure nowadays a lump of coal is worth a decent amount of money. Don't be too quick to turn one aside.
    I bought my family various gifts. Christmas!
    I had a really good Christmas this year. My family liked all of their presents, and I got the few things I wanted, plus some other things.
    Dad:
    - Acme Juicer. I finally asked for one when Dad asked if there was anything pricier I wanted (he was considering getting my brother a nice camera he'd asked for, and wanted to make things fair). Once I came up with that option, Dad was actually really excited to get it, and might end up getting one for himself.
    - Money for clothes. Adam asked for it, and Dad hooked me up with the same amount.
    - A digital speaker system for the iPhone. Dad kind of went crazy this year. Got himself, Adam, and me one for each of us. Wasn't expecting that, but I'll definitely use it.
    - A little umbrella that will fit in my purse
    - A yoga block
    - Tiny socks
    - Pedometer
    - A green throw blanket
    - One of those flashlights with a crank that charges the battery. And it randomly has FM radio.
    Adam:
    He pre-ordered Sims 3 for me. Haha I'll probably need another computer to play it, though. Sims 3 might make my laptop shit itself and explode.
    Mom and Jennifer:
    - A digital audio recorder. I asked for that to help me with voice lessons. Mom, of course, did a bunch of research on them and got me a pretty good one. That's what she does.
    - Body lotion! From Bath & Body Works. Dancing Waters and Sensual Amber (my personal favorite). Jennifer said I always came over smelling good and since I cuddle with the dogs so much, they kind of smell like me when I leave. While Mom and Jennifer were shopping for which scent to get me, they came across the Amber smell and remembered the way the dogs' heads smell after a visit. So that's what they got me.
    - An Elvis sticker and a little Elvis smiley face yellow ball thing that can either go on my antenna or hang from my rear view mirror. Hehehe
    - Burt's Bees hand thingies. Little tins. Cuticle stuff, hand salve, res-q stuff (for cracks and really dry skin), and some lip balm
    - Pepper foam. Bahahaha.
    - Three CDs from Mom, all of them unfamiliar. Mia Doi Todd's The Golden State, New Leaves on an Old Tree Borderlands by Caswell Carnahan, and From the Witchwood by Strawbs. I think the last two are really hard to find or something. I'm not sure.
    Jennifer's mom, Mary Ann:
    $40. Woo!
    Jennifer's family - Rick and Edna, Kim and Bobby:
    - A Ralf Lauren towel/robe thing. It's like a towel that has Velcro and spaghetti straps so it's sort of like a robe. A light robe. I love it.
    - A brown jacket
    - $100
    Mom's family - Teresa, Terina and Jay, Lani and Eric:
    - A $25 Victoria's Secret gift card
    - Coat hangers. They're really nice. Sort of like suede.
    - A basket of bath stuff, including yellow rubber duckies, a pedicure set, and comfy socks.
    Andy:
    A pretty necklace and a lovely card. He's sweet. Too sweet.
    From myself...
    Yeah, I went there. I got myself the Adagio concert teapot. It's gorgeous, and now I can make tea for more than two people at a time.
    Pizza Hut:
    Mild food poisoning. Ugh.
    Curious?
    Our Christmas Tree looked rather depressing this year with few, tiny presents under it. I guess when you get older, presents get smaller and more expensive lol. Anyway, doesn't matter - I had a good time, and what I got kicked donkey arse!
    Special
    - A Ribbon (From Martin <3)
    Games
    - Fallout 3 (From Mum)
    - Tomb Raider Underworld (From Mum)
    DVDs
    - Sweeny Todd (Finally lol... From Jamie - my brother.)
    - Some Hans Christian Anderson animated crap (Thankies Nan lol... but I'm 16.)
    Book
    - Sense and Sensibility (From Nan. I think I'll prefer the book to the movie.)
    Other
    - Another Heath Ledger as the Joker poster. (From Jamie)
    - A gold watch. (From my Aunt and Uncle
    - A small figurine of a Guardian Angel (From Dad)
    - A Cube Ball Puzzle thing with £20 inside it. You have to solve the puzzle to open the door to get the money. Haha, it was quite funny! (From Terry)
    A gift for the family
    - A new TV for the living room! It sexy... (From Terry)
    Money
    - All together from family members, I have now saved up £200!
    NOTE: Not all presents were under the tree! So, if I had waited until the evening after Christmas, the Tree would have been covered in gifts!
