How well can you spell? - Washington Post

My score was 38-4-5, although I seemed to warm up and made two dumb mistakes early on.

I've always been a reasonable speller. In primary school I aced the spelling tests. Although the use of standardised testing meant that they simply repeated the same test each time. Once you realised mortgage is spelt that way, you don't forget it. It's even easier if you learn French.

What's your score? Are you a good speller?

That was just the test to see if you're ready for the real deal, che. ;p

I'm probably more reliant on spellchecker than I should be, but I'll surprise myself on my spelling as well. Though other times my mind will just go completely blank on a word. The worst is when you spelled it right, but then you stare at it like that can't be right you know there's something wrong. It just looks weird, but you just have to accept the weird feeling is just trying to lead you down the wrong path.

"The Portuguese politician was arrested for failing to predict the porcupine invasion." Where the hell do they come up with these sentences? Were the editors at the Washington Post high when they made this test?

My score was 39-3-1. I found 93% of the misspelled words. I read a lot, so I'm good at spelling. It really wasn't that tough.

I got 5 wrong and 1 incorrectly guessed, HOWEVER, the one I incorrectly guessed was 'arbor', which we spell as arbour. Should've realised it was US what with it being Washington post and all that.

I like reading and writing so I think I'm good at spelling, but since getting an iPhone I think I've gotten a bit lazy because of autocorrect. >.<

Good old IE wont let me go past 'A'

If I could keep going I would probaby get an average score. I was a good speller in school because I read quite a bit from a young age, but I do have trouble with is if a word is supposed to end in "ly" of "ley", or even "o rly"
