Geek Off or Nerd Fight?

Soooooooo, what sounds better being yelled into the crowd?

Is it, "GEEK OOOOFFFFFF!"

Depends on the confrontation, "Geek off" to me sounds like to guys arguing over trivial fantasy information, like what color dragons really were. Whereas, "Nerd fight" to me sounds like two guys about to throw down to see who's a bigger nerd via some facsimile of they nerdom, ie a video game competition.

see I was having different thoughts on the meanings of each one.

Geek Off to me sounds like 2 black people bboying against each other in the mall to see who can reign supreme in the dance world, whereas Nerd Fight is like two scrawny nerdy dudes actually fighting. At least thats what first came to my mind.

Exactly. To the point, anyone who watched that one episode of X-files or the movie The Geek. Then you'd know a geek is a performer that eats live animals.

I personally prefer the term Nerd, between the two. Geek is borderline offensive. Speaking of X-files...

Now that I think about it, I like the way "Nerd Fight" sounds. There was absolutely no point to this thread. Thanks for the comments anyway.

Geek Off would be more of a debate contest seeing who would be the biggest Sheldon (Big Bang Theory) in the group. It wouldn't be a RP-Battle formal or informal. It would be more as a scenario where an Admin or chosen Mod (or chosen bard like me!) would ask a series of questions to start off. Two warring people would then go back and forth answering and then asking a list of questions. It could be a group going through elimination. Somethings like Wiki and Wikia wouldn't be allowed, and everything can be traced.

Nerd Fight would be the very rare get together in the parking lot. Someone actually yells, "Nerd Fight". Then, you see a couple of pocket protectors slugging it out. This could happen after the Geek Off when asked the question solving a mathematical equation in your head and they're only allowed to write down integers.

Example:
LocoColt drops from the sky and tells me to host a geek off. Two nerds want to know who is the biggest dweeb. I go through a list of questions at a time back and forth two the two and they are also allowed to shoot a list of questions to each other. Least amount of overall questions answered gets the boot.
The two get tied down the middle. I ask the tie breaker. I tell each one that who ever answers this I will officially label them a genius at math. That person wins.
I ask this:
I jump out of a moving black helicopter. I have base wind speeds, almost no b.pressure. Calculating with the acceleration rate of gravity and knowing the terminal velocity (maximum speed) of my human body falling to earth is 120mph, solve in your head the minimum time and distance it would take for me to reach terminal velocity.
The two can't answer and get pissed I asked that, start argueing between each other over the answer. I then scream, "Nerd Fight"!

I have the brain capacity of a super computer. Not one of those old, huge ones from the 50's or whatever, but one of the newer ones they use at NASA. No one gave me the answer. I did it on my own. Alpha, that is a good point. I could see ID be renamed as Nerd Fight. It's close enough already. I also see the poll option is working. My last poll attempt for a thread wouldn't go up. Voted.

Aside from that, and if my opinion has any merit to anyone at all, I totally voted for "Nerd Fight". "Geek Off" just doesn't have the same impact.
