    Favorite self harm techniques?

I like to stand on turned up plugs in my bare feet mostly... or lately I'm quite fond of placing a lump of ice beside my sensitive tooth. And how could you forget the paper cut under the tongue....

But ya cant really beat a good ol' scissors to the back of the wrist.

    What about yous??

I always walk into stuff and hit my hips in the process. That REALLY hurts! I always hit my elbows on stuff too. The pain only lasts a few minutes, but I swear a lot in my head when I do it and I'm like ffff**k, you!!!! At my work I do wiring and when you get a piece of wire stuck in your finger, it REALLY f**king hurts! Oh and I hit myself in the face with a drill the other day Only I would manage to do that.

    Heh? Odd thread.

If you really want to go that way, I'm against self harm. But when I need some form of release, I put my headphones on and turn the music waay up. Heavy metal usually does the trick.

Either that or I walk until I can't walk anymore. Or I go for a run if I really have the energy. Any form of exercise isn't really self harm, since it's actually good for you, but it's what I would do if I need some form of 'pain'.

    Re: Favorite self harm techniques?

Umm... Smoking? And burning oneself with the lit end.

Things got a bit crazy for me a few months ago with my bad relationship and eventual break-up, work was a pile of ****, and I started smoking. Partly to 'rebel', and partly to try and relax. It kind of worked, but I know it's bad, and stopped completely two weeks ago. It was only at most three a day, and I could go days, even weeks, without having another. Also, I didn't purposely burn myself with them; I figured smoking them was harmful enough...

I don't mind admitting that I had a small problem with self-harming during my teenage years, but I managed to stop before it got out of hand. :/

EDIT: I think I took this thread way too seriously...

I rearrange my furniture in my house every day. Then I get super drunk alone at home, and turn out all the lights. When I have to pee, I take off my shoes and socks, I have to remember where I put the furniture or I ram my toes into the furniture. BEST GAME EVER

I will have to try that sometime.

With regard to accidental self-harm, I have a wicked bruised on my upper left arm due to an accident at work. We have had a new freezer cabinet installed (a massive walk-in one where all the buns, meat, desserts and hash browns are kept) and the door is still a little stiff. Knowing this, I pushed it a little too hard to close it; it went flying forward and was only stopped by my arm which was in the way.

The other day at work I was wearing a cap-sleeved t-shirt (I wasn't on shop floor that day) and a couple of people noticed. Simon said: "Have you been in a fight?" (the bruise is that bad). "Only with the freezer door," was my reply.

I've broken my pinky toe nail off of BOTH toes (5 times on the left now and 4 on the right) BEAT THAT.

Snagging my toe nail on the vacuum cleaner takes the cake. Hitting my toe on the corner of the door rim, as I try to exit the room, has gone out of style --especially since it's happened eight times in my lifetime.

I'm thinking about creating a hybrid. A dolphin-monkey. Half dolphin, half monkey. Do you think it's possible?
I was thinking that since I'm artificially creating it, I'll create it with rocket fuel instead of blood, and thus it will be able to fly, using the dolphin's dorsal fins as wings. And from the air, it will look down upon us all and protect us against sharks, and search for bananas.

As for the furniture game, you should patent it, make it into a tv show.... great idea. the theme music could be my chemical romance or some bland fringe angst crap

    Re: Favorite self harm techniques?

I actually did run a nail on my arm once in an attempt at self harm. I didn't do that again - it ****ing hurt like shit.

I don't need to self harm anyway. I'm accident prone, and an apparent masochist. I hurt myself so much at work, that self harm on top would probably be the death of me haha.

The problem with physical injurys is that they heal. Anyone wanting to do real self harm would be better off reading a daily dose of Sylvia Plath or trying to learn mandarin, the true pursuit of the masochist

    Re: Favorite self harm techniques?

I once broke two of my knuckles by punching a man in the face. That was a strange encounter. He didn't fall down. So naturally, if I punch a man in the face and he doesn't fall down, I walk behind him to see what is holding him up. After that night, I went home, iced my hand, nearly overdosed on calcium supplements, and it was healed in a week.

That was my worst self-harming incident. Ever since then, I've learned to hit in the ribs instead of the face.

Sometimes I come here and read all of these emo threads and it makes me want to eat the business end of a shotgun, while listening to Fall Out Boy, in the dark, in my mom's basement.

Other than that, I'm well adjusted and not into getting hurt.

I like self harm it hurts to think.

I went through a stage where I would cut my lower bicep near my elbow every time I wanted to make a promise sort of like a strike system that you see on movies when you target an enemy haha not anymore though.

My wife has that disease where she has to pick and prod everything the only bad thing is I get heaps of blackheads put two and two together.

Whoa....this thread pitched a friggin' tent on the dark side.
Geez, people ever think that your time might be better spent on something creative?
I've had some bad days, but i've never wanted to harm myself (the world will take care of that, why give it a head start?).
Maybe you all should post your grievences instead of suffering alone (reaching out takes far more courage than feeling sorry for yourself).
If anybody needs a willing ear, just PM me, cause apparently my life is a cakewalk.

Getting a tattoo. Best. Feeling. Ever. Hurts like a bitch, but the end result is win. Other than that I'm not really into the whole self-harm thing, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't like getting tattooed.

When I am bored and sitting at my desk, I take my industrial roll of box tape and get a few pieces. Then, I place them on my arms and rip them off real fast. It doesn't take the hair with it, but it hurts as if it did.

Oh no, my parents lied to me. They made me learn Mandarin to keep me from being bored during summer vacation. They said it would give me a step up in the global business world.
