    Equine, Bovine, Swine and

    Ovis aries.

What's you favourite meat and whats your favourite cut of meat?

Do you eat different sorts of meat where you are like reptilian or canine/feline?

At the moment my favourite is pork, it is pretty cheap in Australia beef and lamb are expensive which is strange because we export a lot of beef making it more costly for us or maybe it is because they stopped beef export for a bit last year.

Anywho it's a treat when we get some nice beef scotch fillet or t-bone which is my favourite cut of beef. Beef mince is cheap but it is so for a reason.

In Australia some people like crocodile and or kangaroo meat, crocodile isn't to bad but I feel bad for eating it because I don't find crocodiles a pest unless of course one was latched onto my leg.
Kangaroo I would prefer not to have, it is to tough unless slow cooked

    Anywho

I have no idea why the whole lot was in Italics, I could change it by removing the italic tags but meh maybe it could be a new trend.

Lamb, yea it's bit expensive, but worth the money if you ask me, and no one's good at preparing it as we Croatians are, even the famous Ed O'Neill said so.

After that it's pork. My family owns a small farm, we keep couple of swines every year, produce our own meat. We make one hell of a bacon.

The most unusual meat I ever had was goat meat, it actually tastes pretty darn good.

    Re: Equine, Bovine, Swine and

Duck meat in general is pretty nice but there is so much that can be done to improve it, but when smothered in goose fat and cooked in its own juices its the nicest thing I have ever had. I would say my favourite cut of meat would be a t bone steak, preferably from the dexter cow breed, or failing that a sirlion would do nicely.

Pork belly is prety nice as well when prepared properly, but especially in the form of unsmoked, but preferably smoked, rashers. Ham in comparison can suck though in some forms, but especially when in "black forest ham" form. Disgusting.

Chicken, cow, or pig is fine by me. I don't much like any other type of meat. And I don't eat any weird meats. I especially don't eat dog.

Dogs are smarter than most humans. So are cats, but I'm not really a cat person. I'd eat human meat before I ate dog or cat.

Pork is probably my favourite meat, I like sausages, bacon and ham. Although I've only liked bacon for a couple of years, as a child I hated it (don't judge me). I like chicken and turkey, too, but I'm not a huge fan of beef. I like beef burgers and stuff but I hate beef on a cooked dinner, doesn't taste the same and it's always tough. I don't like lamb, it's pretty gross I think.

I will never, ever, ever eat duck meat. Eveeerrr. I refuse. I don't normally like to be too picky with food but that is something I just will never eat.

I thought this was gonna be an Aussie version of ****, marry, kill... I'm relieved haha.

I'm simple in my tastes. Give me a nice shell steak or hangar steak any day and I'll be very happy. I've had many different animals and it really depends on how you cook and prepare the meat.

I agree with this completely. I'm always willing to try a new meat, however the standard is always fine. Beef, pork, chicken, duck, squirrel, goat; I've had a lot of variety and it just depends mainly on how it's cooked.

    Re: Equine, Bovine, Swine and

I would have a hard time thinking about all the different types of meat I've gobbled.

Yes, the innuendo was intended there.

    But let's see:

    Beef
    Chicken/turkey/duck/goose
    Pork/Ham
    Deer
Fish (prettymuch all types, from Bluegill and Crappie to Snapper and Flounder)
    Lobster
    Crab
    Shrimp
    Crawdad
    Goat
    Lamb
    Sheep
    Dog
    Shark
    Alligator
    Squirrel
    Rabbit
    Raccoon
    Bear
    Buffalo (Bison)

I'm sure there's more, but that's about all I can think of right now ... Anyway.

Lamb is probably my favorite red meat. I've had it a few times, and every time, it's as tender as filet mignon and extremely flavorful. If you've never had alligator, find somewhere that serves it and try it out -- it's incredible. The same goes for shark. Awesome, awesome meat.

Bear is fatty, almost sweet, but very flavorful. Buffalo is very rich, but apparently low in bad cholesterol, so it's healthier than beef. Goat and sheep, from what I've had, are usually a bit stringy, but I've only had goat a couple of times (the Afghans used to cook sheep all the time, so I suppose I've had it quite a bit, but always prepared close to the same way).

But, as has been stated, it really depends on how it's all prepared. Take crawdad, for instance -- I've had crawdad prepared by people that actually knew what they were doing, and it was great, and I've had it prepared by people that didn't know how to prepare and cook it, and it was horrible.

    This quacked me up.

I have always wanted to try duck or quail I don't know how it is traditionally cooked though isn't it braised usually.

Went to a friends place a while ago and they had recently killed a pig and they invited a heap of people over to share it with, and it was fantastic.
They spit roasted it in their back yard and it was f***in unbelievable I felt like I was in heaven. The meat was juicy and delicious and the fat quite literally melted in your mouth.

We ate like f***ing heathens and neanderthals and I couldn't think of anything more brilliant.

I am addicted to white fish. Cod, walleye, halibut, you can't go wrong.

There is a local restaurant here called Michelle's. They serve a halibut that is crusted with Alaskan king crab and panko. It melts in your mouth. It's almost better than sex.
