How bout the best of both worlds? Some cars have spooling devices that help make it so you don't get turbo lag. The power of turbo in a V8 with no lag? Done.
How could a great thread like this not exist, ladies and gentlemen i present to you the battle between cc and psi or Muscle cars vs Turbo enhanced sports cars.
Any way it is free discussion, tell us which you prefer if you had a choice or what you already have.
I like my muscle cars there is nothing more pleasing then feeling your insides tremble from the sheer power of a 8 cylinder carby feed engine. And the purr aww the purr but it is not all about looks and sounds i also talk performance, the cons of a bigger engine is obviously the weight but the power is incredible enough to diplace this weakness. More cubic inches will always give more power than pressure plus it is a constant application of power where as a turbo has to build up the pressure and then release the air which only gives a limited amount of extra power. Plus alot of the older muscle cars have very little electronics for things to go wrong or be faulty and any problems can easily be loctaed and fixed where an electronic car has more things that can go wrong.

Its just not the same it is like putting cheese on an apple it just spoils it haha but what is the point it is only increasing the speed of the air mixture entering the chamber where as a v8 or bigger has a greater displacement with more mixture and you could go as far as increasing the compression ratio in the cylinders and adding high octane fuel.

Well it depends on what you want to do with the car, I guess.
If you wanna go real fast in a straight line then you want a ton of torque for getting off the line as fast as possible. If you want to race on road course track then you need to balance the horsepower with the handling. You can't just slap on the biggest 1000hp motor into a Camaro and expect to handle well.
This is why my favorite car is the Ferrari F430. Perfect mix of power and weight. The engine is a V8, but it revs high. 483hp at 8500 RPM and 343 lb·ft of torque at 5250 RPM.
This engine is 'slightly' modified making 717HP, but yeah: YouTube - 340 km/h en Ferrari F430 Scuderia Novitec Rosso ! (Option Auto)
